  1. Debbie opens her own bakery called Debbie’s Pastries - she sells her pastries outside of the store but I don’t see her family bakery since WHC: S1 & S2 until now; Debbie’s Bakery in WHC: Brookfield S3

  10. Maybe I missed it, but I haven’t seen any mention of faith in Hope Valley 1874. I’ve been really enjoying the series, but what I love and appreciate most in WCTH is the Christian values shown quite often.

    1. Abigail, Excellent point. I'm LOVING the Hope Valley 1874 series, but I'm also not recalling any mention of faith either, and I think people, especially in that era, were more reliant on their faith in God. Even a whispered prayer, like "Lord, give me strength," when things are difficult could've been easily added in. Hopefully, we will see something in future episodes.

Thus far, though, I'm loving the determination and grit of Rebecca (Bethany Joy Lenz). She was made for this role, and the girl that plays her daughter, Sarah, is excellent, too. What a phenomenal young actress.

And Benjamin Ayres... I'm truly taken by his portrayal as rancher Tom Moore. In the beginning, I wasn't exactly sure what I'd think of him in this role, but he is beyond fantastic! I like the way he talks with a laid back dialect, and the way his character treats others- his very presence seems to demand respect.

Four episodes in and only four to go - but I'm truly loving this series, and I hope those who don't have Hallmark+ won't have to wait too long to see it!!!

    2. Abigail and Net--I've had the exact same thoughts about Hope Valley 1874. It's been SO good, so well done, But I've actually noticed a real absence of mentioning God or faith. I've even found myself saying to the actors--'you need to just pray'! I know it's a Hallmark production, and I appreciate the themes and morals, but for me the faith piece is just really an obvious void. I want to see people depending on the Lord and not their own strength, but I can be a bit idealistic! I'm just happy it's wholesome and clean entertainment!

Lizzy, Abigail and Net...I've noticed the same thing too. No mention of God, faith or praying.
      disappointed in that!

    4. I’m really surprised there’s been no mention of prayer especially with all the emergencies since the first episode. With Sarah in the running wagon, Nash’s accident, the plowing and now the three kids lost in the woods. This has been a great beginning to a show, but how can they have a Janette Oke inspired show without faith. I’m kinda speechless, and sad that the writers didn’t include it. And surprised Brian Bird allowed it. I’m pretty sure he’s involved in making it and he’s a Christian.

  12. A Little Park Music was really cute! Yes it was kind of a strange storyline but Laci and Beau had a sweet chemistry together, and it was fun to see them staking out and trying to solve the mystery together. The reason behind the piano was sweet. It’s always fun for me to see familiar faces in the supporting roles, and I giggled when I saw Lilian from Aurora Teagarden. She was her usual annoyed self Lol. And I enjoyed seeing Frances Flanagan as well.

I'm also loving season 3... what an incredible cast - from the leads to the supporting! Everyone is amazing!

And I'm so glad the first episode introduced us to a new pastor! I'm really looking forward to seeing his influence on the community in future episodes.

  14. Bee My Love was such a sweet movie! I really enjoyed the storyline (we have a good friend who is an Apiarist so it was neat to see the detail they put into the movie) I have never seen this actress before but I think she had believable chemistry with Robin, enjoyed the supporting characters as well.

  15. Hi Net,

Sorry for the one day delay in posting my reviews. Ended up being a busier day yesterday than planned. :-)

"Bee My Love" was a very nice movie. A bit slow at times, but we could look past that because the scenery was extraordinary as the relationships were authentic and the story line was good. I liked learning about how to harvest honey. And we especially liked the female lead. She was enchanting! Her sweet smile could light up a room. I wish they would film more movies in Hamilton. I know they have used Hamilton before, in other films, but I think it is the best place in Canada to shoot movies. Anyway, I recommend this sweet gem of a movie.

"A Little Park Music" was also a cute movie. A little bit of mystery, a nice story line that was a bit unique, sweet romance and great cast elevated the movie in my opinion. My gosh Laci has the bluest eyes I have ever seen. She was excellent in her role. I recommend this movie for sure.

  16. "Bee My Love"--I'm so glad I stuck with this one, thanks to Paula's review! I was having trouble getting into it in the begining, a little slow as Joan said, but I remembered Paula said she liked it and I usually agree with her, so I continued and really thought it was very good! The acting was quality, and it's didn't have the usual storyline with a misunderstanding, etc...I really liked it!

"Litt Park Music"--I may be the minority here, I thought it was fine, but not great. The story got old for me after the same scenario over and over...and if I'm really picky, I like Laci's hair better brown, ;) but it was good enough, and I always appreciate a "clean" movie!
