🎄✨ Great American Family Christmas Movie News with a Hint of Mystery

Christmas Movie News for 2026! 🎄

Now, I usually try to wait until the networks officially announce their upcoming movies before sharing details. However, since this news has already been reported publicly elsewhere, I thought it would be fun to share what’s been discovered so far.

The Hamilton Spectator recently posted some additional details about the upcoming movie “A Christmas Card Mystery in Starlight Point,” which was filmed from January 27th through February 12th.

Production notes from another site indicate that this is a Great American Family film produced by Candour Pictures.

Interestingly, The Hamilton Spectator article did not reveal the main actors involved, but they did share two photos from the production.

From the images, it is fairly clear that the actor is Jesse Hutch. The actress, however, is only seen from behind. She appears to be rather tall, close to Jesse’s height, with beautiful, curly blonde hair.

Out of curiosity, I did a few online searches, and several names came up, including Kate Drummond and Brittany Bristow.

So... at this point, I’m not completely certain who the leading lady might be. Just from looking at the photos, though, I could imagine it being either of the two suggested or possibly Ashley Newbrough, Jill Wagner, or Rose Reid.

What do you think? Do you have a guess? I’d love to hear your thoughts! Please share in comments below.

Here’s the synopsis for “A Christmas Card Mystery in Starlight Point,” provided by Candour Pictures:

“A young romance author leaves New York City after her novel is panned, hoping to write a redemption novel from home in Alaska. Finding inspiration in her former lover, and the mysterious Christmas cards left at her keys, newfound success has her making the difficult choice between returning to New York for a career of fictional romance, and her real romance in Alaska.”

  4. This is so awesome. I am thinking Jill Wagner she posted a picture on January 12 on instagram where she had long hair. I do know she has a new project this summer for appletv so she might not be available to do a Christmas movie.

    1. Bebe, I remember seeing that on IG, too. Perhaps, that was a little practice run again for this???

  5. Could it be Cindy Busby? They do give many women wigs so I guess it could be anyone. I am super excited for this.

  6. Hi Net,

Oh this is so exciting! I like mysteries such as this. :-) I am going to go out on a limb, and guess Rachel Skarsten. I know she is normally makes Hallmark movies so I am sure I am not right but I also remember when she did a movie, way back when, with Trevor Donovan, and she had beautiful long blonde curly hair. But, you could be on the right track with a guess of Kate. Anyway, regardless of who the mystery woman is....I think this will be a good one. I will watch ANYTHING with Jesse Hutch as the lead. He is such a genuine person who has never been afraid to declare his love for God.

    1. Joan, Thank you for adding a guess! The actress is definitely taller like Rachel.

Kate Drummond was one of the suggestions that my Google AI search suggested, but I'm thinking AI probably just did that because of their link together with Crossroad Springs. But thought I would go ahead and share, just in case!

At this moment, I'm leaning mostly toward Jill Wagner, but who knows???

Also, I feel the same about Jesse and the way he expresses his faith! So grateful for wonderful actors like him!

  7. Looks like he is continuing to sport that horrible beard - apart from that Have We Met This Christmas was one of the better GAF 2025 Christmas movies - Florence

    1. Totally agree on Jesse Hutch’s beard. It was completely distracting for me in his last Christmas movie, I could barely watch.

    2. Aww I love Jesse’s beard! I think it works for him, very handsome in my opinion. Maybe I like it because it reminds me of my husband’s beard, I’m a fan 😊

  8. How exciting! I absolutely love when there is a little mystery intertwined a romance. When I first saw the curly blonde hair I thought of Alexa Pena Vega?

  9. Okay, Net, I think I’m going with one of your guesses, Jill Wagner. I thought they were great together in Christmas Under the Northern Lights, so I’m thinking since she and Trevor weren’t good together, maybe they wanted to have a sure thing this year. Christie

I'm guessing Jill Wagner, but when all the snow and bad weather was going on she posted a lot of pictures of the kids in the snow and she was with them at her farm in Tennessee. Not sure the time line is right for it to be her. I hope it is Jill! We all know she's good with mysteries and she and Jesse have good chemistry!
