  1. Am I the only 1 a bit sad at how generic and flashy these trailers have gotten since 2020 when they used to be so good, or is it just me? -Maria

  2. I do not see 40 movies on the reveal, only 24. Or are the rest on HMM?

  3. I am just wondering what happened to the 40 new movies? There are only 24. That is 16 more movies to be 40, and that would be a ratings nightmare to put them on HMM 2 nights a week.

  4. Feel like they're going to the Three Wise Men well too much. The first one I enjoyed. Nymber 2? Mehh. Won't watch 3 most likely.

  5. Such a lot to talk about here.

First, I feel I have been led up the garden path- Hallmark definitely said they would be airing 40 new Christmas movies.

Now I'm sure they meant this at the time but with the freefall in cable viewing figures and the subsequent loss of advertising revenue they must have felt the need to retrench.

I'm actually not unhappy with fewer Christmas movies but the extent of the cutback would seem to indicate that things are not looking good.

What I do feel is that when they announced the recent job losses and moved to a new office they should have had the courtesy to say that they were reviewing their output for this Christmas.

Now I have another lot to add to my list to watch for where they might air - strange only a couple of days ago Hallmark purportedly bought up A Wild West Christmas - perhaps they are holding some in reserve for Christmas 2026 and Christmas in July.

However at the rate at which things are changing as similar to downloading/streaming in the music industry can we even be sure they will be here by that time?

    As to the content.

I have seen the first three Mistletoe Murders and found then really enjoyable - the chemistry between Sarah Drew and Peter Mooney is sizzling and the content highly enjoyable.

We can more or less accept now that Hallmark Mystery Channel is gone - I personally will miss it.

For me there are far more super looking pairings than normal:

    Kimberley Sustad & Robert Buckley
    Janel Parrish & Parker Young
    Laura Vanervoort & Stephen Huszar
    Autumn Reeser & Niall Matter
    Nikki Deloach & Kristoffer Polaha
    Rhiannon Fish & Ben Rosenbaum
    Lyndsy Fonseca & Daniel Lissing

For me the battle for the top 2 should be between Sustad /Buckley and Fonseca/ Lissing, so many of those synopses look great but who knows, every Christmas much of what you think will be great falls flat and something you weren't excited about really grabs you.

There are a number of movies that were supposedly airing on Hallmark Christmas 2026 not now in the list and I only wish they had been retained in favour of some of those that are - I won't upset the applecart by singling out the ones that should have been jettisoned!

The Ashley Williams' movie looks as if it might be family friendly although I would be surprised if A Keller Christmas does not have a same sex couple.

After the disaster that was 2024 let's hope that the reduced output will lead to better quality - Florence

    1. Florence,

I like a few of the pairings, but I do not know why, I just cannot watch the janel Parrish movies. For some reason, I just can't. Rhiannan Fish, love her, but she seems to play the same character always trying to be funny. I liked her on the SSD movies, but not in much else. I feel she will probably play a silly role with Ben in her movie. Werent Laura and Stephen in a movie last year?

I bet ashley and Laci will play great sisters, they both can play quirky well. Loved Laci in CS. I kind of think that will be good.

The one that looks good is the Hunter King movie. I kind of like the breakup stories and for them to be put back into contact and especially with family there for holidays.

I think I like the less movies. I have always wished for less so that they can promote them, and we are not overloaded. But then I wonder what happens to the other, it would seem 16 movies that didnt get picked. Will they ever be seen? Sometimes the movies are not the same when they are played years later, if times have changed, etc. I just really felt we were in for less with the firings and all. I do know of a saying that I won't say, but it seems that saying is coming true. Everyone jumped on a bandwagon in 2020 and now they are finding out it didn't work. I will tell you, it was never going to work.

      Sabrina
