SHINING HIS LIGHT:
"The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.
He maketh me to lie down in green pastures:
he leadeth me beside the still waters.
He restoreth my soul:
he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness
for his name's sake.
Yea, though I walk through the valley
of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil:
for thou art with me;
thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.
Thou preparest a table before me
in the presence of mine enemies:
thou anointest my head with oil;
my cup runneth over.
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me
all the days of my life:
and I will dwell in the house
of the Lord for ever."
~Psalm 23:1-6
"The grass withers,
the flower fades,
but the word of our God
will stand forever."

ReplyDeleteReview: ‘Love In Bloom’ is an awesome romantic comedy on Great American Family
ReplyDeleteAmelia Hart (Susie Abromeit) has a picture-perfect life: a successful floristry in Chicago and a boyfriend who is about to propose.
When her soon-to-be-married little sister and fiancΓ© become marooned at a mountain retreat days before their wedding in Primrose River Australia, Amelia, and the best man, a vet named Grayson Tanner (Julian Haig), are tasked with stepping in to save the wedding.
Most of the story underscores the values of love and having an affinity for wildlife and the animals in nature.
Amelia finds new meaning in the town’s beautiful gardens, and love, when she least expects it.
This story is quite inspirational, and hopefully, it will stimulate fans and viewers to form stronger bonds in their personal lives and foster harmony in their relationships.
The film’s musical score certainly helps elevate it to a higher level. It’s a neat story about protagonist Amelia Hart finding herself, and it is very warm, poignant, and relatable. It has all the ingredients and it pays a fitting tribute to the timeless and nostalgic romantic comedy. The cinematography is stunning, and the Australian culture and wildlife featured in the film are an added bonus.
Susie Abromeit and Julian Haig did an excellent job portraying the female and male leads in the film. Veteran actress Monette Lee was marvelous as the witty and sensational Mrs. Popp, while iconic Australian actor Steven Tandy was remarkable in a subtle performance as Mr. Poppy.
Melinda Vidler (Bonnie) and Jason Wilder (Jake) gave viewers yet another quintessential love story within the movie. Equally noteworthy were Lin Yin as Piper and Artin John as Peter respectively.
some visually striking scenery and some of the most magnificent animals on the globe.
Love in Bloom is family friendly. It’s remarkable & uplifting movie. Amelia Hart is a florist in Chicago. She has a boyfriend named Peter, they’re better off as friends. She flew to Storm Mountain, Australia for her little Sister named Bonnie & fiancΓ© named Jake’s Wedding Day in Australia. Bonnie & Jake are become marooned at a mountain retreat days before their wedding. Amelia finds new meaning in the town’s beautiful gardens at Hummingbird Inn, and love where she least expected. Hummingbird Inn is owned by Tom & Delilah Poppy. Amelia’s Mother named her Daughter; Amelia after flowers; camellias. There’s girls’ names after flowers. Grayson’s Father named his Son; Grayson after one of the horses π. The flowers have meaningful with colorful petals since gemstones have meanings. Grayson & Amelia have cake tasting when Piper hands a slice of cakes as a favorable from teas as such as Earl Grey, Matcha, mocha, etc.. They chooses a wedding cake is chocolate with coconut for Bonnie & Jake. Grayson Tanner is veterinarian to take care animals at Primrose Vet. Grayson takes a job there & he is off to city zoo but his truck broke down. Amelia goes after Grayson by riding horse named Mercedes. Game, Set, Love Review
ReplyDeleteIn the movie, “Taylor (Davida Williams) is a former professional tennis player who retired from the sport following the passing of her mother so she could be there for her father, David (Roger Cross) and has been enjoying teaching tennis to kids at the local club. Her former doubles partner Ashley (Jennifer Khoe) asks her to coach her and her new doubles partner Will (Richard Harmon), a player whose reputation and career are in need of repair thanks to his hotheaded antics on the court. Taylor reluctantly agrees and though she and Will clash at first, she’s surprised to discover a different side to him. Even more surprising is when Taylor finds herself entering the doubles tournament with Will after Ashley is sidelined by an injury. As Taylor and Will spend more time together while they get ready to compete, the pair learns they just may be a perfect match in more ways than one.”
The movie had potential and that’s hard for me to say with how much I disliked it. It’s been awhile since I have had to commend Hallmark for trying, but wonder if they realized that they were way out of their league for this one.
It’s all about the way this movie was shot. The settings, the low budget (and trust, you can tell it was low budget), and the horrendous wardrobe, are what added up for it to be a bad movie.
Now, yes, I had feelings about the movie before I even watched it. Richard Harmon is a good actor, but him on the Hallmark Channel doesn’t fit. He’s not the “good guy” in a role and even though this role was billed as the “bad boy” of tennis, there was nothing bad about his character. Okay, so he yelled at the umpire (or whatever they call it in tennis) and told him that he wouldn’t be on his Christmas card list, it made me laugh more than anything.
Will wasn’t a bad guy. Will was a misunderstood guy with some serious family issues. He wasn’t speaking with his parents and had come to terms with it. His “anger” was part of his persona. He wasn’t willing to let people close and felt as though he had to be angry because that’s what people expected of him.
Taylor is a woman lost in grief, but doesn’t realize it. She’s fully of excuses as to why she can’t follow her dreams, but who is going to debate with her that he father needs her. No one. Well, except Will, who doesn’t seem to mind calling anyone out for anything.
Though the two actors have no chemistry on the screen, but they don’t deliver the worst performances. Harmon as Will was unbelievable, but maybe that’s because it’s really the first time that he’s taken on a role like this. Davida Williams does a great job as Taylor, and honestly she’s the highlight of the movie.
But Will and Taylor together feels against Taylor’s character. Especially when she’s just going back into professional tennis and they are just starting out as partners. She doesn’t seem like the person that would fall for a bunch of lines that a charming man has to deliver.
The costuming felt as though I was watching my grandparents play tennis and honestly, took me away from the characters because I couldn’t get over how frumpy and old they looked, when they were meant to be young people on the tour.
The tennis matches – let us just say that it felt like they decorated a high school gym and put people in the stands. The setting and the shots took me completely out of the movie and I felt like I couldn’t see anything that was happening, because I wondered how this passed the producers.
You can say that everything counts when making a movie, because it does. And unfortunately the settings, the shots, and the costuming took me so far out of Game, Set, Love that the only thing I could enjoy was it ending.
Unthinkably Good Things didnt do that well in the ratings dept. Really quite low.
ReplyDeleteSabrina
Sabrina, that's very interesting. Wonder what Chesapeake Shores' ratings were before the movie on the Hallmark Channel.
DeleteSabrina, I'm not surprised in the slightest. -Maria
DeleteI believe it was 0.8m roughly the same as the previous week - Florence
DeleteTo those who think there is a lot of interest in movies such as Unthinkably Good Things all I will say is that the overmight ratings were 0.4m (yes that is nought point four) - a complete disaster - Florence
DeleteAologies - I musn't understand what exactly the 0.8 rating was for Chesapeake Shores.
DeleteApparently the overnight figures for Season 6 to date are:
Ep 1 - 1.471m
Ep 2 - 1.387m
Ep 3 - 1.366m
The average overnight figure for seaon 5 was 1.46m so considering the number of people who are turning to streaming sources the figures for Season 6 to date look pretty good - Florence
My family have watched every season of Chesapeake Shores and this last episodes was very disappointing! I may seem old fashion but you know I am just trying to live by God’s Word and the scenes from this show insinuating sex was just disgusting. I am sorry that our family watched it and especially on Sunday!
ReplyDeleteThe 3rd episode disappointed me and my family, as well.
DeleteI want to join with the others in sending thumbs up for Love In Bloom to GFAM. What a beautiful movie! The dresses were exquisite! A keeper for me.
ReplyDeletekitkat, Good to hear you loved "Love in Bloom," too! I agree - it's a definite keeper!
