Hope you all have a lovely and pleasant Spring weekend! Our grass, here in the Midwest, is getting a little greener and our perennial flowers are just starting to sprout up, although our temps have dipped some and remain around the 40's. Looking forward to warmer Spring weather and bright sunshine - right around the corner!

It's been heartbreaking to see the destruction of tornadoes across the South - in Texas and Louisiana. My prayers certainly go out to those people as they rebuild their homes. I hope you all have been well and safe. Still praying, as well, for peace in Ukraine and all over the world.

Blessings on your weekend! Net

  1. Looking forward to seeing Gloria Reuben and Erik La Salle in A Second Chance At Love.

I remember them fondly from one of my all-time favourite TV shows - ER.

I always respested the TV company for being true to their fans unlike Hallmark with Cedar Cove.

When it was decided to finish ER they made a final Season in which the characters all received an "ending" - it may not have been the one you particularly wanted but they deserve our respect for not leasving things in the air.

I still choke up when I think of the final episode when Eric La Salle and Alec Kingston who had been in a relationship at one stage but have moved on meet up again and the final scenes show them going in different directions.

Should be good to see how Eric teams up with Gloria Reuben - Florence

    1. Florence, Hope you enjoy watching tonight! I remember them both on ER, too. I watched the series mainly in the beginning and when Kellie Martin was on there. Her departure from the series was so sad for me, though, I didn't watch much after that. Anyway, I agree with you, it's nice to see two actors who have such great history together - reunite again!

  2. That last WCTH preview looked so good. I can't wait to watch it!

Aww, I wasn't aware of the tornados in the south. I will be praying. For Ukraine too, I do every day. My heart goes out to them all. I feel guilty, here I am looking forward to new on TV, when Ukraine is going through a terrible, scary time. I want to do more.

Weather is the same here in MD. Love seeing all the daffodils along the highway. Hope you have a great weekend Net!😊

    1. Abigail, I'm looking forward to the new WCTH, too! It's so nice to have this one family friendly TV series we know we can always depend on. I was just thinking, and I'm sure you've noticed (based on your name), we've seen very little of Abigail's Café this season. I think the ice cream parlor may have been created in part to replace the café. It seems they are distancing themselves away from Abigail's role more and more. Plus, Henry's friendship / potential relationship with Abigail seems to be left unfinished.

Speaking of weather & flowers... I love daffodils! I can't wait to see ours bloom, too, but my..., our weather took a drastic change this morning! We awoke to an inch (or maybe, a little more!) of snow! It was beautiful while it lasted; it has been melting slowly throughout the day. We had a glimpse of Spring for a few days last week, and warmer days will be coming soon! :)

Also, I know just how you feel about those innocent people hurting in Ukraine. It's so hard. I know we are praying hard that peace is coming.

      Have a Blessed Weekend!

    2. Didn't the ice cream shop use to be the dress shop??

Aww, I would miss seeing the cafe, if that was the case. Hopefully they won't replace it, Minnie did ask if Bill was willing to sell.

Speaking of Minnie, I always wondered if she was Abigail's type of character replacement. The wise married woman on the show who gives good, strong advice. I like her, but will always miss Abigail Stanton.

Hope to see Henry on WHC, if GAC family casts Lori Loughlin again. It was such a treat seeing her and Cody after so long. And Cody grew into a handsome gentleman, so kind to the children.

Ooh, my younger siblings would LOVE some snow right now. Today we had freezing rain. It looked like the Dots ice cream. 😊 Can't wait till the sun comes out!

Hope you have a blessed Lord's day tomorrow!

  4. Really enjoyed A Second Chance at Love. I like how Hallmark is making more dramas. The stories that they're telling now have a lot more depth than previously. Well I still love the tried and true romance, there's just something about the journey in a drama. Particularly liked the storyline of the daughter and her husband. And it was so great to see Gloria Rueben and Mr. Soul Glow, Eriq La Salle again.

  7. I heard rumors online that Chronicle Mysteries and Crossword Mysteries are cancelled by Hallmark vis that true?

    1. Chris, I'm not sure, but I wouldn't be surprised if "Chronicle Mysteries" was over. Since Alison Sweeney purchased the rights to the "Murder She Baked" films and switched over to "Hannah Swensen Mysteries," I can't imagine the plan was to only make one of them. And, if she's busy with that, then that leaves little time left over for the "Chronicle Mysteries" series to continue.

Since both Lacey Chabert and Brennan Elliott signed exclusive deals with Hallmark, I'm secretly hoping we will see more "Crossword Mysteries" and "All of My Heart," but no word, yet! (I know AOMH may be a long shot, but a girl can dream!)

    3. That's good to hear. Wonder if she's willing, but just waiting for Hallmark to green light it. Or... cancel it.

  8. A Second Chance at Love was another POC ratings failure for Hallmark (saw that coming), it's not that these movies don't look that interesting, it's that they are clearly pandering to a specific audience, and audience that clearly doesn't care for Hallmark! Which is why I doubt the Mahogny movies will do any different then every other black led movie from Hallmark in the ratings, the intended audience just isn't there.

Chesapeake Shores was renewed for a final Season from Hallmark. -Maria

    1. Maria, Thank you for sharing that ratings info. I personally don't mind that some movies may have more of a particular race in them. If a story is based around a family, then it typically makes sense that more people from a certain race will be represented. I just don't think it's necessary to announce a certain theme for a movie series - solely based on the race of the actors involved.

I put a post up on Chesapeake Shores - here. Not sure how I feel about it, yet. If they go woke, I'm definitely out.

Why am I now getting notifications via email of comments people leave in various threads...
More to the point, how do I stop them before I start getting notified, even if I haven't been involved in the commenting..
      Thank you!
P.S. I could find no other way to contact you rather than here

    3. Yes, Anonymous you are so right. I firmly believe this is not hallmarks audience. it hasnt ever been. Its like putting half of a movie about race cars or tools and filling half the movie with girls talking to try and bring more women in to watching. you alienate the men that wanted their tool shows and not a bunch of woman sitting around talking about woman stuff.

I worry they are abandoning mysteries for the mahogany line and i am not supporting stuff like that. its wrong for the same reasons they say its wrong to have all heterosexual couples or all white people. We dont need new mysteries when we havent got resolutions to the past mysteries.

    4. Sabrina, you are very right. These all black movies are mainly meant for a black audience, which makes them off putting to it's main audience. I've tried watching a few of their all black movies, and I can only think of 2 that I really liked, every other one was either boring, or I turned off before it ended cuz I wasn't interested anymore.

Yes! They should be wrapping up their current mystery series instead of trying to make movies that are 99% guranteed to be ratings duds. -Maria

  9. Oh my, A Second Chance at Love wasn't just another ratings failure for Hallmark - it was a disaster.

Overmight figures were 1.35m - no other movie this year on the main channel has been below 2m.

Surely Hallmark mist realise these figures are telling them something? - Florence
