Well, here we go... off into the Holiday Season!
I'm excited to see the launch of new Christmas movies with You, Me & The Christmas Trees, but I haven't quite decided which of the other Christmas movies I'm going to watch, yet; however, I am definitely re-watching Autumn Stables (I've seen it through streaming) and the premiere of An Autumn Romance on GAC Family. Then, on Sunday night, for me it's all about - It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown! Plus, I'm looking forward to seeing Jocelyn Hudon (When Hope Calls) in Eat, Drink, & Be Married on UPtv!
Please Note: I have NOT pre-screened these NEW movies mentioned above. If YOU happen to watch any of the new movies over the weekend and want to share a review, please stop back by and leave a comment. I know everyone here would be grateful to know any information you are willing to share. You can always sign your name or use anonymous, whatever you like.
Have a Wonderful Weekend, Everyone!
Joyous Christmas Blessings! Net
SHINING HIS LIGHT:
Jesus said, “I have come into the world as light,
so that whoever believes in me
may not remain in darkness.”
~John 12:46
It will be an interesting weekend! And I must say I am very grateful for anyone that watches a movie and comes back to share their thoughts. So helpful!
ReplyDeleteAs far as “You, Me and Christmas Trees” I would give it a 5 out of 10. Most of the positive goes for scenery. Very predictable about whole story line. Not a lot of debth to really get into. I usually rate a movie on if I would want to watch it again and here there is not a lot to go back to. Just my opinion. Be interested in seeing others.
DeleteThank you, JoCo! Good to hear your thoughts on the movie. I wasn't home when it was on last night, but I have it recorded to watch soon.
DeleteI will be posting your review to the new 2021 Christmas Movie Review page - coming soon!
What did you think of Boyfriends of Christmas Past?
DeleteI watched Autumn Romance Saturday. Really felt and looked like fall. Really liked story line and characters had a good chemistry. Family friendly for sure. Especially liked the surprise at the end. Had the feeling of some of the older HMM Christmas endings. Just curious about historical reference as to actual event or just creative license.
DeleteGAC Family Christmas, Hallmark Christmas could have pick up these Christmas movies this year or until next year

Strasser and written by Jessica L Randall; starring Chelsea Hobbs, Giles Panton, Mila Jones, LaTonya Williams, Brendan Taylor, Matt Hamilton and Erin Boyes; A woman inherits her grandmother’s Christmas Tree farm and heads for a visit intending to sell, but is instead roped into planning the town’s annual Christmas tree festival; filmed in Vancouv

Thanks, Net! That GAC one was called Tycoon'sKissand I saw some of it on YouTube. It was family friendly from what I recall.
ReplyDeleteMisty
Misty, Great to hear! I look forward to watching now! Thank you! :)
DeleteThere are too many movies to watch this weekend. I will record Hallmark movies until I read reviews. Just can not trust them anymore.
ReplyDeleteWatched Accidentally Engaged with Brant Daughtery on GAC last night, even though I had seen it on UP. Those two networks must be sharing movies.
And...we're off! The Christmas movie season officially begins! :)
ReplyDeleteI am going to go with You, Me & the Christmas Trees for my Christmas movie, but I probably won't watch the others this weekend since I also want to catch An Autumn Romance and Eat, Drink and Be Married. And I feel like Hallmark is showing their "Greatest Hits" this weekend since so many great classics are being shown! Ahh, who needs sleep, right?
Marik25, An Autumn Romance will air twice & also Christmas movies on GAC Family @ 8PM ET/5pm PT & 10pm ET/7pm PT
DeleteThe Santa Stakeout is like movies:: Richard Dreyfuss & Emilio Estevez’s movies: Stakeout & Stakeout Again

Detective Ryan & Tanya are undercover as newlywed couple - those 2 areunder the mistletoe.
This movie so funny 😆
What movies are you looking forward seeing this weekend?
ReplyDeleteI'm looking forward to the movies this weekend.

Happy to report to viewers, You, Me, And The Christmas Trees is family-friendly. Love Danica but do not enjoy watching Benjamin Ayers in anything. Someone else with Danica would have been more enjoyable. I won't voice an opinion until I watch it again. I was on edge the whole time since I took a chance watching it without a review first.
ReplyDeletekitkat, Thank you so much for sharing that You, Me, And The Christmas Trees is family-friendly! Others may not get it, but I understand your feelings completely. Bless you!
DeleteIt's nice to hear it was a good start off to the Countdown to Christmas! And... I look forward to seeing the Wonder Years reunion in it.
I will be posting your review to the new 2021 Christmas Movie Review page - coming soon!
Jim! Oh my goodness! I recently heard about this, but I hadn't checked it out. I'm so glad you shared that link. What a cool experience that would be to stay in one of these Hallmark Christmas rooms. Wonder how they change it up between guests and I wonder how much it costs???
ReplyDeleteIt's interesting how the different cities have different themes and looks and yet, they all looked inviting to me! Love the snowflakes projected on the ceiling and the personal tree lighting ceremony switch! So cool! :)
Thank you, again, for sharing this! While it would be fun for a day, there's no place like home for Christmas, right?
Enjoy the movies & Charlie Brown!!! :)
Recording Autumn Stables to watch later. Can't miss Kevin McGarry!
ReplyDeleteI am watching An Autumn Romance tonight and Charlie Brown tomorrow night. What a glorious weekend!
Net, I love your Christmas lights! Makes me smile!
As others have reported You, Me And the Christmas Trees is family friendly. Like Kitkat said, I was on the edge, so afraid it would suddenly appear out of no where!! Story line is different for sure, but not one that I will watch over and over. The story line is a little slow and not the best chemistry between the leads. But as is always Hallmark style, a happy ending.
ReplyDeleteJoyce, Thank you for sharing this happy news! I'll be posting your review to the main Christmas Movie Review page once I get it up and running! Stay tuned! :)

You, Me, & the Christmas Trees
ReplyDeleteJason Hervey is always portrayed a jerk lately like his character; Wayne Arnold in Wonder Years. His character is Dwayne Colson in You, Me, & the Christmas Trees
Danica McKellar & Jason Harvey reunited in You, Me, & the Christmas Trees since they worked together in The Wonder Years in 1980s. The Wonder Years took a place in 1960s
I enjoyed You, Me, And The Christmas Trees. I liked how science was brought into the movie. It is family friendly.
ReplyDeleteMary - Thank you so much for sharing! So good to hear you enjoyed it! :)
DeleteI think that Boyfriends Christmas Past is terrible.
ReplyDeleteChris, I appreciate you letting us know your take. I think many agreed with you.
DeleteSo we saw You, Me & The Christmas Trees and it was family friendly but didn’t feel that excited about it. It was good but the story or the chemistry felt off. I couldn’t quite put my finger on it! But my girls liked it so I was happy about that.
ReplyDeleteWe also started watching Boyfriends of Christmas Past and within 5 minutes I could tell it wasn’t going to be family friendly. We didn’t watch past those minutes because in the opening scene I could see that there was an alternative lifestyle couple. But it didn’t feel like a huge loss because the premise and the commercials didn’t really draw me in anyway. We only started watching it because my oldest daughter was interested but we changed the channel and just found AFV which made up for having to skip it! I could be wrong because it wasn’t explicitly shown but we changed it pretty quick but it did look like they were snuggling. Someone who watched further might find that I was wrong but I didn’t want to take the chances of continuing to watch it with my kids in the room!
Sarah S., From what I am hearing your instincts were spot on. Glad you turned the station when you did.
DeleteI would have to agree with you - as the commercials for this movie did not interest me either - so it didn't feel like a big loss, after all.
Thank you for sharing your thoughts with us. I bet you all got some big laughs out of AFV, anyway.
I deleted "Boyfriends" after the first couple minutes. Not enough time in my life for this stuff.
DeleteBy the way, what is AFV??
~~Jane
Jane, I agree! I'm doing more and more of that this year, too.
DeleteAFV - is America's Funniest Home Videos.
Boyfriends of Christmas Past content warning - There is a gay couple sprinkled throughout. The movie started out very stilted and they didn't play well off each other but I would like to see the lead actor again.
ReplyDeleteKay
Kay, I so appreciate you sharing this news with us. It's unfortunate we have to do this, but I'm grateful that you stopped in to inform the rest of us before watching - bless you!
DeleteAn Autumn Romance is based on the book by Jane Porter’s The Tycoon’s Kiss. Taylor Harris is a librarian & Historian goes visit her older Brother; Craig Harris & his family in Fair Ridge, Montana. This movie melt my heart about Taylor finds old fashioned photographs in the folder in the bedroom at the Graff Hotel. Taylor & her Brother; Craig manage to save Hotel. There’s a picture of chambermaid is actually Mary Catherine & Theodore “Teddy” Roosevelt with a people at the Graff Hotel. Taylor’s Friend texted Taylor what she found. Taylor needs to hurry just before the meeting starts at the library room & print them out & into laptop for research about Historical Graff Hotel. Taylor’s presentation about Graff Hotel is a historical landmark on her laptop to TV at the meeting. Joel looks surprised by Taylor’s discovery. Joel mentioned his ancestors were his Great Great Grandparents named Timothy & Mary Catherine Shannahan. Taylor's Brother is being cordial to Joel.
ReplyDeleteA woman heads to a small town to see her brother and tries to save a small, historic hotel from developers, but she soon realizes that the man she's falling for is behind the development plans for the Hotel. Joel tells Taylor that he never had a picture of his Great Great Grandma until now & he had his Grandfather’s picture on the wall. Gruff Hotel is an official landmark. Taylor & Joel dance together at Graff Hotel for Fall Harvest Ball. There’s pictures of Joel’s Grandparents, Joel & Taylor, & letters on the wall at the Graff Hotel.
So very glad to hear that You, Me, & Christmas Trees is family-friendly! Not that either of the stars are my favorite, but it is a relief that the first movie was clean! So many were disappointed last year when Danica’s was not watchable. Of course, it is always disappointing when they include such trash in any movie, but you expect the main stars to have a good movie. When they don’t its somehow worse than if it was a lesser known star.
ReplyDeleteAutumn Romance (aka Colors of Love) was good! It wasn’t too much of a fall movie, but the leaves were actually real! At least in the scene where she drives her car off the road. I especially enjoyed it because I am a history buff and that part of the story line was so different and intriguing. The perfect twist to an otherwise normal movie plot. The mixed couple was a bit strange, but I’d give this family-friendly movie a watch!
Thank you for sharing your thoughts on these movies. It's good that both You, Me, & Christmas Trees and An Autumn Romance are family-friendly. :)
DeleteI also watched An Autumn Romance and the farm and lovely country setting was beautiful; plus, I also thought the history portion was fascinating, as well. That storyline turned an ordinary rom-com into something far more interesting.
An Autumn Romance was fun to watch. Loved seeing Jessica Lowndes and Chad Michael Murray together. I do love history along with surprises. This movie proved to be so much more interesting than I expected. I am looking forward to their Christmas movie! The mixed couple appeared to be added for no apparent reason, plus there isn't a lot of scenes with the two of them.
ReplyDeletekitkat, Glad to hear you enjoyed "An Autumn Romance." I agree, CMM and Jessica do work so well together. I thought it was very smart that they announced their Christmas movie together during one of the commercial breaks. I'm looking forward to it, too, and everything else on GAC Family!!! :)
DeleteHi Net! First of all, I've been following you for a while now, thank you SO much for always standing firm in our beliefs and not being afraid to share God's amazing love. I love that I have a spot to come where i know your reviews have morals and values, like mine. thank you!!
ReplyDeleteSo...I watched Boyfriends of Christmas Past yesterday. (and like I said I've never commented here before, but wanted to share now) I really enjoyed both of the leads, they were pretty good together, and the story was a really fun idea! (I'm a big Christmas Carol fan) I wish I could say I will watch this again, but that is sadly not the case. There was a same-sex couple that popped up maybe three times, they played no part in the movie whatsoever, so I dont even know why they had to keep showing this same couple. It felt really forced to have them there. Very sad. Especially since it seemed like they stuck them in this movie to solely say they have another movie with representation.
*minor spoiler to plot of movie ahead* Another issue I had with it, about halfway through the movie, Lauren,(the lead) is in the past with one of her boyfriends, and the reason they break up is because the boyfriend asks her to move in with him. Marriage is not talked about or considered one time during this part of the movie. They obviously don't move in together because she breaks up with him so nothing actually happened. But the movie still made her out as being the wrong one because she wasnt ready to take the next step in their relationship. They made it clear that moving in together should come before marriage. At that point I was already upset to see the first red flag, and this didn't make it any better lol
It breaks my heart to see the way Hallmark's morals have dropped so low. oh well, all we can do is pray, and hopefully I can help someone else out that has no interest in watching what is becoming more and more the regular hallmark Christmas movie. Also, sorry for such a long comment!
Sincerely,
- A Fellow Brother In Christ -
A Fellow Brother In Christ - How wonderful to hear from you - for the first time! I thoroughly enjoyed reading your comment and hearing that you are also like-minded in your morals and values.
DeleteIt was also wonderful to get your perspective on the movie Boyfriends of Christmas Past (the new Saturday premiere). I had some hesitation after viewing the commercial, so I did not record or watch. I felt that the way relationships would be displayed might be more worldly and cavalier, and it seems that's exactly what it was. So sad.
If only more of Hallmark movies could be like the "Signed, Sealed, Delivered" series!
I am grateful you shared your thoughts with us on this. Thank you and bless you! :)
I thought that Boyfriends of Christmas Past was terrible I thought that Boyfriends of Christmas Past is as bad as Nashville Christmas Carol.
DeleteNet, I agree completely, 'Signed, Sealed, Delivered' would be a perfect example for Hallmark to follow! You are actually the reason my family and I found Signed, Sealed, Delivered! Thank you!! We had heard of it before, but never watched it, then I found your blog a couple years back and saw how much you loved it, we instantly fell in love with every minute of it too!! We were counting down the days with everyone else waiting for the wedding last weekend, and it did not dissapoint! To put it mildly, it was perfect!
DeleteAlso, I didn't plan on watching another movie this weekend, but after I picked the wrong two to begin with lol I needed something better, and I saw someone here say Christmas in my Heart was friendly! It was so nice not having to keep my guard up while watching, for me it wasn't a classic. What Amy Lama said is really what I thought of the movie too lol but it was clean!! So that alone made for an enjoyable night, even if the movie wasn't beyond amazing, it was still heartwarming and Christmas-y!
-A Fellow Brother in Christ-
-A Fellow Brother in Christ- I am so honored that I was able to introduce you and your family to the 'Signed, Sealed, Delivered' series! That means so much to me! I'm so glad you let me know.
DeleteAnd... wonderful to get your take on "Christmas in my Heart," too!

An Autumn Romance was a great start to original movies on GAC Family. I enjoyed the history part and the family relationships. Chad Michael Murray is definitely becoming a family movie staple. ~ Jennifer R
ReplyDeleteJennifer R, I'm so glad to hear you enjoyed An Autumn Romance, too! I, too, thought it was a wonderful launch for GAC Family! What a blessing it is to have this alternative.
DeleteThank you, honey, for sharing with us!
The Santa Stakeout is so funny. I couldn’t stop laughing 😂 in between 2 Police Detectives Tanya Morris & Ryan Anderson s with wildly different approaches to pretty much everything. They’re reluctantly partnered on a case involving a rash of robberies taking place during high-profile holiday parties around town. undercover as newlyweds Tasha & Rupert, moving into the vacant house next to Mr. Francis Miller to crack the case. They become swept up by Christmas, begin to see each other in a new light & start to fall in love. Ryan, Tanya, & Police Officer Talbot dress as elves & bellhop at Christmas committee to eyeing an ornament.
ReplyDeleteGood to hear you enjoyed the comedy parts... I hear it is very funny! :)
Delete"Autumn Romance" was family friendly and quite enjoyable in spite of the done-to-death plot. Chad Michael Murray made it worth watching. He was excellent, as always, and though Jessica Lowndes isn't one of my favorites, I felt they had good chemistry. The movie kept me engaged throughout.
ReplyDelete"Christmas in My Heart" was my pick of Christmas movie to watch, since I always enjoy Luke Macfarlane and any movies that have a music theme. I'm happy to report it's family friendly. I enjoyed the story a lot. It had some deeper elements to it that I always appreciate about movies on HMM. The little girl was very cute and a good actor. I would watch it again, but it's not going to be a top favorite because I felt like the leads lacked chemistry and their characters needed to have more scenes together. And as much as I like Luke Macfarlane, I'm afraid he's not a singer!
Amy Lama, So wonderful to hear from you! Glad you enjoyed both of these movies over the weekend. You are the first to review "Christmas in my Heart" - very good to hear it was Family-Friendly.
DeleteThe main Christmas Movie Review page is currently a work-in-progress, but I'll be sure to have your review posted there.
Thank you for sharing with us! Bless you! :)
The Santa Stakeout
ReplyDeleteTanya & Ryan go undercover as newlyweds couple Tasha & Rupert to live next door neighbor is Mr. Francis Miller’s house on their first Stakeout. They’re so funny. It’s seem like other movies: Stakeout & Shakeout Again starring Richard Dreyfuss & Emilio Estevez. I hope Hallmark will make sequels. The Santa Stakeout 2 called; “The Santa Stakeout Again. When I saw The Santa Stakeout trailer looks so funny?
Hi Net, it's me again, I hope you dont mind me leaving another review.
ReplyDeleteI watched The Santa Stakeout last night. I absolutely loved Tamera Mowry-Housley and Paul Campbell together, they were hilarious and had great chemistry. I also really liked the story, it was super fun!
BUT...Hallmark sadly couldn't resist putting their agenda in their. About forty-five minutes into the movie, Tamera's and Paul's characters are introduced to two men, they are verbally never specified as a couple, but they didn't need to, it was quite clear what they were. They are shown a handful of times in the movie, and like in Boyfriends of Christmas Past, they played no real part in the movie, except to meet their quota for Hallmark!
I will admit, unlike Boyfriends of Christmas Past (I think I turned off a little over the hour mark in Boyfriends, whenever the couple was confirmed of my suspicions) I did finish The Santa Stakeout though. I was just enjoying the leads and the story so much. If it wasn't for the gay couple, I think this movie would've been a classic for me, I was loving it so much, but sadly after the agenda came to the party, even though I kept watching, it didn't have its Christmas magic anymore. So, needless to say, I won't be watching this one again, which is too bad because it was ALMOST very good.
- A Fellow Brother in Christ -

Bless you for sharing with us and thank you for being a faithful follower here! :)

“Danica is a world-class talent who is among TV’s most beloved and enduring stars,” said Bill Abbott, President & CEO of GAC Media. “Her combination of creativity and passion is second to none, and I am thrilled to have her join GAC’s close-knit family.”
Abbott, former CEO of Crown Media Family Networks, parent of Hallmark Channel, has been bringing in established Hallmark Channel talent he worked with while running the network, and McKellar is the latest. Among the biggest draws to cable television during the holiday season, McKellar has appeared yearly in a Hallmark Channel holiday movie since 2015, most recently in You, Me and the Christmas Trees, which premiered last week on Hallmark Channel. Under the GAC Media deal, which extends through 2023, she will do rom-coms and holiday films for GAC Media exclusively.
McKellar recently guest starred on ABC comedy Home Economics and is set as a judge on Fox’s upcoming unscripted competition series Domino Masters, set for early 2022.
McKellar, who was first introduced to television audiences as Winnie Cooper on The Wonder Years, is also the New York Times bestselling author of children’s books at McKellarMath.com, including Math Doesn’t Suck, Kiss My Math and, most recently, The Times Machine.
A summa cum laude graduate of UCLA, McKellar earned her undergraduate degree in mathematics while contributing original research which resulted in “The Chayes-McKellar-Winn Theorem,” published in Britain’s Journal of Physics. McKellar has been featured on the front page of the Science section of The New York Times. She is recipient of the UCLA Award for Graduate Achievement and the Communications Award from the Joint Policy Board for Mathematics, which includes the American Mathematical Society and the Mathematical Association of America. She has testified before Congress about the importance of women in math and science and was named “Person of the Week” by ABC World News for tackling math education and simultaneously breaking the stereotype of the “math nerd” with her highly entertaining and illuminating books.
McKellar is repped by Matt Sherman Management and attorney Dave Ryan at FTSA.
GAC Media is home to GAC Family and GAC Living, which launched on September 27. GAC Family (formerly Great American Country) features family-friendly, holiday-themed movies and series that celebrate American culture, lifestyle and heritage. GAC Living (formerly Ride TV) is the unscripted companion to GAC Family.

I still have to watch "Christmas in My Heart." However of the four Christmas movies this weekend, the only one I could recommend as family friendly is "You, Me and the Christmas Trees."
ReplyDeleteI saw "Autumn Romance" and I really enjoyed it. The book that it is based off of, however, is not family friendly. I read a portion of it and then stopped. "Autumn Romance" has a more wholesome feel and while similar to the original book, it is quite different.
Of the two family friendly movies I saw this weekend, I'd probably watch "Autumn Romance" a second time.
Mary, Thank you for sharing these reviews! I feel the same about the movie, "An Autumn Romance."
DeleteAnd, thank you for the book info. It's so disappointing when they do that. I have had that happen, as well, with a book I never anticipated would have that sort of content. Now I never buy a book - unless it's at CBD. I feel safer that way.
Review: Christmas in My Heart
ReplyDeleteFamily-friendly: Yes
Keeper? No
This was my Christmas movie for yesterday (the 25th). My thoughts:
* It was family-friendly, but throughout I kept thinking how Hallmark went extra lengths to have 3 inter-racial couples integral to the movie (Sean and his deceased wife, Beth's father and his recently deceased wife, and then Sean and Beth). Also, more than once someone mentioned how difficult it was/is for people of color to have the opportunities afforded to others. And while I couldn't agree more, this seemed like a major point the writers wanted to hit home.
* The story just kind of trudged along. It was hard for me to get wrapped up in it.
* There was a definite lack of chemistry between the two leads. I thought Luke Macfarlane did a good job in some other Christmas movies, but here it just didn't seem like his heart was in it.
* As mentioned elsewhere, Luke cannot sing, and his facial expressions while he attempts to sing are over-the-top.
* And finally, for the record, the bench pictures on the poster are nowhere in the movie.
Not a keeper for me.
Mark 25, What a wonderful, detailed review! I love hearing your perspective on this - knowing we share the same values. Good to hear this one was family friendly, in spite of being not as great as others.
DeleteI'll be sure to share your review to the main Christmas Movie review page - coming soon!!!
I tried to watch Christmas in My Heart, I even tried to get past Luke's very bad country accent. I have to say Heather Hemmens is beautiful. She has such a pretty smile and I could watch her over and over, just not this movie.
DeleteThe child actress, i guess I am hard on the child actors/actresses sometimes, but this was not good. I will stop there.
I changed the channel when someone brought over the Hanukkah gifts, i mean this movie couldn't be more woke.
I stand by my feelings that Hallmark says whomever makes a movie for us must have the following:
1--
2--
3--
4--
If one is missing, we cant put you on the network. when they review the movies, they say" #1--check, #2--check, #3--check, #4--um, the movie is great but you missed #4". Ok, we added that he is now jewish is that ok". "#4--check".
BTW, it seems Hallmark isn't drawing the crowds in either for Countdown to christmas. 2.22, 2.03, and 2.11 are the lowest ever for HM i dont ever see another movie of theirs getting even a 3 million viewers. The Danica movie was the best and she is going to GAC and people are being nasty saying go away. well she was the one that gave the weekend the highest views. HMM movie was about where they were this time last year. I can tolerate the HMM channel so I watch that channel. I am looking forward to the Christmas Promise this weekend.
I know people are cutting the cord, but this decline has been going on a while, the thing is when you alienate your fan base, the one that was giving you the 4 million viewers for Christmas movies and the shows, you lose those dedicated people, the ones that tweet, the ones that watch anything you put out. You get some hype for having a same sex women couple on a long time show, but those arent the people that watch, tweet, live and breathe Hallmark. You kicked those people in the teeth and said if you don't like our woke movies, then goodbye. And they said goodbye to you.
Review: You, Me & the Christmas Trees
ReplyDeleteFamily-friendly: Yes
Keeper?: Leaning toward No
Danica and Ben had to wait hours to see if her experiments would help save the trees...and at times I felt as if I was waiting along with them! This movie just seemed to move so slooooowly! I wish Ben Ayres would show more emotion or excitement - I think that is part of the reason why the movie dragged. Still, chemistry between the two leads wasn't totally lacking, and it was nice to see Hallmark kick off their season with a family-friendly movie! But I am hoping that The Winter Palace, Danica's first GAC movie in January, will be better.
Mark 25 - Wonderful review here! I like the way you highlight both family-friendly & keeper!
DeleteAs friends go - you're a keeper! Thank you for this and hopefully... more reviews to come! :)
Nancy, Thank you for your sweet words; I'm so glad you enjoy visiting here.
