  1. Enough with Christmas movies 24/7!! This is done in July and starts earlier and earlier every Fall. Hallmark needs to have a Christmas only channel is they're going to sacrifice all their scheduling to it and ruin the specialness of actual Christmas time of year.

    1. It looks like Hallmark Drama will not be airing Christmas movies, so if you can get that channel, then you'll be able to watch non-holiday Hallmark movies.

    2. It wouldn’t be so bad if they would show some of the older really good movies.

    3. I agree JoCo, some of the older movies are far better than anything they do now. But thats cause they only made 12 or 18 movies a year so they could actually be well thought out and written better.

  2. Hate to be the bearer of bad news already, but we are here to warn each other of non-family-friendly content. By the pictures I saw, the Christmas movie(s) with the Williams sisters will not be on our watch list. The saddens me because I enjoy them both so much. I know for sure that Ashley William’s is not family-friendly. I am hoping that Kimberly’s will be as it is set in a different city, but I highly doubt it.

I’m glad we can share this information here for each other. I just wish it wasn’t a necessary thing. It shouldn’t be, that’s for sure!

    1. Yes, I've seen those images, as well, for "Sister Swap: Christmas in the City." I added that bit of news to my Hallmark Christmas movie post that I won't be sharing either movie due to this content.

I wasn't surprised to see it, but disappointed, too, just like you... as I've been looking forward to the sister's doing this project together for years.

    2. I can see why Hallmark waited so long to release lists. Not much there that feels like the Hallmark of old, but I think that has been evident for a while.

    3. joCo, Agree, joCo! Except for a hand full of movies, most seem like a different channel completely.

  3. Good morning. It is so hard to believe that 2021 is coming to an end and we are getting ready for all these Christmas movies to come. I don't know if my DVR can handle all these movies but I will be watching (and/or recording) them all! Thank you for keeping us up to date on all the news & movies!

  4. According to Hallmark Channel the movie airing in Nov 05 is Open By Christmas starring Alison Sweeney and Brennan Elliott- Florence

    1. Florence, I'm still not 100% certain about this one. The schedule on Hallmark Channel's web-site says "Gingerbread Miracle" on November 5th, plus the "Gingerbread Miracle" page says November 5th, while other places still say "Open by Christmas" is airing on November 5th.

I changed my guides to match Hallmark's schedule, but I don't think anyone really knows which one is right.

    2. At last Hallmark have released the full programme and Gingerbread Miracle is definitely for November 05.

Can't believe there is no Alicia Witt this year - she was a staple.

Great to see the return of Paul Greene and David Haydn-Jones.

Very worried about the Lacey Chabert movie - in the photograph Stuart Townsend looks old enough to be her father.

Looking forward to seeing Aimee Teegarden with Andrew Walker - I've loved both her previous Hallmark movies.

Seems like she and Jessica Lowndes have attracted a number of detractors who always rush in to criticize so you can't rely on the reviews - Florence

    3. Florence, I was also surprised about no Alicia Witt Christmas movie this year. I did notice, however, that she was tweeting with GAC Family recently, and she seemed to like the idea of working with them, so we'll see! Maybe next year! :)

I've also been a bit concerned over Lacey's movie. It seems one year she'll do an excellent movie - like A Royal Christmas or Christmas Waltz - and then the next, it may be a little less popular, like Christmas in Rome or The Sweetest Christmas. I'm not sure it's just age, because she and Paul Greene weren't bad together and he's 8 years older than she. Stuart is 10 years older, and for some reason it feels like even more in the pictures. I dunno. I get the same feeling when I look at the Christmas in Harmony poster, too. The lead girl looks sweet, but her opposite looks way older to me.

  5. I'm ecstatic!!!!! 🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄 Christmas starts tomorrow!!!!!!!!!!!!! 🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄 I might get out some of my Christmas stuff as this always gets me in the mood to do it. Great to see the new DVD releases too. USS Christmas has been on my must-have list since I watched it last year.

  7. I have to admit, I am going to miss watching Monk on Saturday and Sunday mornings. I have grown to love watching Mr. Monk. I honestly can't think off the top of my head of any Hallmark or HMM movies i am excited to watch. I know they think they are being exciting by not telling us movies past nov 12th, but my patience has worn thin and I am over it. Every time i see the preview for the HMM movie for this Saturday with Luke MacFarlane, I cant get past that they want him to have a country accent and he couldnt practice more cause his fake country accent is so bad on the small previews i have saw so far. Hallmark just wants 41 new movies, not good acting movies.

Their movie Advice to Love by tanked in the ratings dept. Even a countdown to christmas tease couldnt get people to watch.

I honestly hope something is done at Hallmark next year. This current president should be fired. People can say what they want on Bill Abbott, but at least he delivered movies people watched. It plain to see the audience they are attracting, such as the new fans they picked up from the lesbian story on Good Witch, have not stuck around to watch all the movies like the Hallmark fans like us used to.

    1. Sad, looks like Hallmark was driven in a certain direction by a vocal minority.

They've tried to please both factions and as usual in those circunstances they end up pleasing neither.

I agree with you that these "new" fans will not show the same loyalty to Hallmark which others have done in the past - Florence

  8. I won;t be leaving my TV on Hallmark all day or night like I've done in the past since now we never know what is going to be in them, but I will tuning in for some old favorites. I'm not sure abt the new stuff but I'll wait & see what you all think of them.

  9. Are we getting a new Christmas in Evergreen movie this year? I always look forward to the Evergreen movies and was saddened to not see any info about the new one yet.

    1. It doesn't look like a "Christmas in Evergreen" movie is back this year; it's too bad they didn't finish it off well last year with a wedding for Holly Robinson Peete's character, Michelle. Unfortunately, last years movie was less than great, in my opinion. There was a wedding that didn't happen and Hannah and her boyfriend kind of broke up, but then they got back together.

    2. Evergreen was great while it lasted but I remember last year my husband and I agreed that it might be better to quietly end it.

The first was the best but each succeeding one wasn't just that bit as good as its predecessor.

Last year's wasn't that great, the characters were fine but the plot was pretty flimsy and there wasn't too much left to cover.

As a card-carrying Lucas Bryant fan I'm disappointed not to see him this year.

I wonder about Michael Rady - I personally like him and I thought A New Year's Resolution was an excellent adult movie for Hallmark in the sense of mature.

He and Nikki DeLoach made a great pairing.

Although he seemes popular at IAWM I wonder if maybe not so much with the general public?

Viewing figures always go up when say Candace, Lacey or Andrew Walker star in a movie but I notice last year that Michael's movie The Christmas Bow - which I quite enjoyed - didn't get very good figures - Florence

  13. Will Hallmark Movies and Mysteries or Hallmark Channel do military Christmas movies for 2021?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Chris, based on the storylines we've been given, thus far, I unfortunately do not see any Christmas movie tributes to our military. That is sad to see since a number of them have been excellent in the past, like The Christmas Card or A Veteran's Christmas.

Wonder why the lack this year?

  14. Good to see Hallmark continue the traditional October Christmas movies startup. The Bible doesn't tell us the actual date of the birth of Jesus, but what matters is that we know He was born and He is alive. So we are able to enjoy and celebrate Him every day. I personally am pleased that a television network designates a portion of the year, annually, to draw attention to Christmas. When you say the word Christmas, you are identifying the name of our Savior, though most do not realize it. So, without the name, there is no celebration. Merry Christmas to all.

    1. Thank you *Right* for this wonderful comment! Amen! Jesus is, indeed, the reason for the season! Again, I am enjoying hearing the wonderful carols sung throughout these Christmas movies - proclaiming the birth of our Savior!

I agree with you - it is a joy to celebrate this amazing Gift every day of the year! Blessings to you and Merry Christmas, too!!!

  15. I wonder what's happened here?

This is the end of a long tradition of having an annual Alicia Witt Christmas movie.

They're counting Every Time A Bell Rings on Hallmark Movies Now as one of the 41 new Christmas movies.

Very interesting that they're only showing one new Christmas movie a week on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries on a Saturday might - 9 in all, with the bulk on the main channel.

    Bit surprising.

Great to see Jake Epstein make his debut for Hallmark and he looks amazing in his photo.

I had to look twice and then a third time at the picture of Kristoffer Polaha - he's barely recognisable!

Apparently Nikki DeLoach helped write the screenplay for her movie.

So far there are only three of the movies we definitely won't watch:

The Christmas House 2:Deck The Halls
    Christmas Sail
    Our Christmas Journey.

I'll wait on more information but we might also skip the two Williams' sisters movies.

We'll obviously have to wait and see just how family-friendly the movies are although provided they're not in-your-face nor same sex relationships are a central part of the movie we do tend to watch them.

On the basis of what they've revealed I'm actually quite excited about this year's line-up - Florence

    1. Florence, I hadn't heard anything in regards to Christmas Sail and Our Christmas Journey. Please share what you've learned.

As for the Williams' sisters movie - yes, there will be two men prominently in a relationship, at least in the City version.

    2. I like Nikki Deloach and all, but another movie where her late grandmother or now in this case, grandfather, i mean is there any other movie for her? I am so tired of her grandma died movies. But I will say, I like the song by Scott Mccreary 5 more minutes. It just feels like wash rinse repeat with her movies and to me, it is not original anymore.

    3. My apologies, Net.

I wasn't really thinking clearly how this would be taken when I wrote it.

Christmas Sail and Our Christmas Journey are just two movies not to my personal taste to the extent that I don't want to watch them - Florence

    4. Florence, Okay, gotcha! Thank you for clarifying that. I totally understand, as I'm seeing lots of movies that fit in that same category for me, too!

I might be pleasantly surprised by some, but we'll see.

  16. Thank you for providing all the details on the Hallmark movies. I like knowing which ones I need to avoid. The Hallmark movies are on the bottom of my list this year. I find myself not even wanting to wear my shirt that says “Hallmark Christmas movie watching shirt” because I honestly don’t want to promote Hallmark with the direction they are going. I guess I’ll have to get a GAC Christmas shirt if they have one.

    1. Kellie, I understand just how you feel. I also have that same sort of t-shirt. I'm so glad you are here with us and we can share our hearts and values together.

A GAC Family t-shirt is an excellent idea!!! :)

    1. I was also sorry to see no Alicia Witt or Michael Rady, who are both great. As I mentioned in a previous comment, Alicia was responding to GAC Family tweets and seemed very open to the idea of working with them, so we'll see.

As for Michael Rady, it is sad to see a great talent like him not being used this year. I'll have to watch A Joyous Christmas again to get my fix! Love that one! :)
