It's the LAST Weekend of August and the end of Summer movies on Great American Family and the Hallmark Channel. I can hardly believe next weekend is Labor Day weekend. Summertime always floats by so quickly.
See details below on the new Summer movies and an all-new When Calls the Heart + we're Counting Down to Christmas on Friday, August 25th! Come along for the ride, the sleigh ride!

Happy 4 Months 'til Christmas!
We are *Marking the 25th* and Counting Down to Christmas! Can you believe there are only 4 months to go? Plus, we are under 2 months away from the Christmas movies airing on TV near the end of October!
The Hallmark Channel has an encore airing of My Southern Family Christmas airing Friday night, August 25th, at 8pm/7c. I may watch some of that; plus, in honor of the recent news on Daniel Lissing's Christmas movie (in case you missed it, *see here*), I will also watch Daniel's last Great American Family Christmas movie, Catering Christmas.
If you plan to watch something Christmassy on Friday or this weekend to celebrate this occasion, please share in the comments below.

The Summer movies look equally good to me this weekend; the movie that most piques my interest, though, is 10 Steps to Love since the story takes place in a country setting in an apple orchard.
I've heard mixed reviews on Dream Wedding, but I'm a fan of Jesse Hutch, so I'll definitely be watching it, too!
When Calls the Heart looks especially sweet this Sunday night with a father-daughter camping trip, and I hope we'll learn Rosemary and Lee's baby's name.
Have a Blessed Weekend, Everyone!

☀️ SHINING HIS LIGHT ☀️
"I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing. If you do not remain in me, you are like a branch that is thrown away and withers; such branches are picked up, thrown into the fire and burned. If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you. This is to my Father’s glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples."
~John 15:5-8
Despite liking Rebecca Dalton and Jesse Hutch Dream Wedding was one of the worst movies I have ever seen - Florence
ReplyDeleteLoll sure it is.
DeleteWCTH sounds sooo sweet! Definitely watching the new GAF movies. -Maria
ReplyDeleteHappy 25th everyone! I will be recording Dream Wedding for sure, excited to see that one. As for my Christmas movie for the 25th, so hard to choose but I’m thinking The Tree That Saved Christmas with Lacey Chabert.

Paula, That's a great choice! I love Lacey & Corey Sevier together in this sweet movie. I hope UPtv plans to air it again this Christmas. :)
DeleteBlessings, Net
Aww! So sweet! I love the fathers and daughters campout!!❤
ReplyDeleteI have also read mixed reviews for Dream Wedding, but I am going to tune in and watch it. I want to support GAF and Jesse Hutch. I love how he openly shares his faith and really do enjoy his movies. My favorite Jesse Hutch movie is Let it Snow with Candace Cameron Bure. In fact, my movie to celebrate the 25th will be Let it Snow!
ReplyDelete10 Steps To Love
ReplyDeleteMay contain mild spoilers
A well-scripted and interesting movie, somewhat formulaic but with innovative touches which overall I found refreshing.
I had seen neither Britton Webb nor Ella Cannon before.
Mason (Britton) was what I would call ugly/good looking, very laid back with a good sense of humour including a scene where he played the guitar.
However I was less impressed with Sophie (Ella) a marketing executive who was trying to help save Mason's family apple farm.
I found her rather uptight and prim and proper.
There were two incidents which rubbed me the wrong way - one when she was snobbish about drinking instant rather than percolated coffee - had it been treated as a joke it would have been okay.
Then when she was on her first date with Kyle, a lawyer who had just moved into her work building, she went to the bar while he was taking a phone call and ran into Mason - when Kyle joined them she just continued talking and made no effort to introduce the two men which I found ignorant and disrespectful.
Kyle was a decent enough guy but lacked charisma and the cast also included the ubiquitous Lexi Giovagnoli a regular B-list actress as Sophie's partner who gave her usual solid performance.
Mason's grandmother was a lovely person.
Normally if I'm not fully invested in one of the leads it dampens my enthusiasm but despite my reservations about Sophie I thought it quite sparkling and woud rate it a 7 - Florence
Apparently the film was filmed at a family apple farm in Virginia and the scenery was really lovely.
Thanks Net for these weekend reminders! We are experiencing tropical like weather today so 4 months til Christmas sounds heavenly. I noticed In Merry Measure on the DVR last night so I’ll watch that.
ReplyDeleteHope you were able to keep cool over the weekend.
DeleteYour Christmas movie pick is great! I adore "In Merry Measure"! In fact, I just recently rewatched it. Patti Murin's singing is so beautiful throughout the movie. :)
Happy 25th, Everybody! Yes, only 2 months until the new Christmas movies start, 3 months until the decorations go up, and 4 months until Christmas Day! Can't wait!
ReplyDeleteI've been seeing these commercials lately with Henry Winkler, so it has me thinking about one of my all-time favorite movies, The Most Wonderful Time of the Year. For some reason I didn't watch it last season (probably because there were too many new movies to get through!), so that is my pick for tonight. And as I usually do, I'll be reciting a lot of Henry's great lines along with him!
Mark 25 - I love your classic Christmas movie pick to *Mark the 25th*!
DeleteAnd you're so right, The Most Wonderful Time of the Year is filled with sooo many great memorable lines, from Uncle Ralph, Jennifer, Morgan, and Brian. We could do a whole trivia game on who said which line.
One of my favorites is from Uncle Ralph, "Now, this is my kind of Christmas!!!"
Happy 4 Months til Christmas day!!! :) Net:
Napa Ever After looks pretty good, All the Mahogany movies are pretty good in quality but just have one really annoying moment
ReplyDeleteWatching The Christmas Secret! This movie is back in the day before Hallmark went woke. The older movies are much better than the ones they produce now for the most part. Looking forward to WCTH Sunday!
ReplyDeleteI love the Christmas Secret! Your right the older ones are the best 😊
Delete—Paula
Joyce, This is another fantastic Christmas movie choice to *Mark the 25th*! I can watch this movie over and over! I adore the children, the search for Christine Eisley, Betty's Bakery and everything!!! I may have to watch this one, too!
DeleteBlessings, Net :)
Napa Ever After was a sweet, slow burn romance.
ReplyDeleteDream Wedding is family friendly about when Sisters named Megan & Kate attending a local wedding fair, they jokingly enter for a dream wedding package, even though neither is getting married; the sisters win, and now must put on a show or be mortified by champagne decisions. Megan & Dave get married & later on, Alex & Kate get married
ReplyDeleteNapa Ever After is family friendly about
ReplyDeletean attorney named Cassandra Monroe takes sabbatical from her job to renovate a winery she inherits in Napa Valley, with help of handsome local named Alec Jackson, she learns more about Grandma she hardly knew, while opening herself up to a live like she has never known. Cassandra meets her Grandma’s best friend named Isabel Collins. Eloi Vineyard owned by Cassandra’s family in generation. Including Eloi Weddings
Dream Wedding was So Hard to get through! The storyline wasn’t the issue, Iv seen a couple that were similar to this. For me, it was the production, it was just so bad….from the background/props to the acting from the extras. The quality looked like it was being recorded from a camcorder 😳 I was looking forward to this one since I love Jesse and Rebecca but this was a pass for me.

Very sweet Episode 5 for WCTH! -Maria
ReplyDeleteI can’t wait watch 10 Steps to Love tonight
ReplyDeleteDo you think they will build a house on the land that Jack bought. It was a big part of seasons 2-5, Elizabeth even visits there in seasons 6 & 7.
ReplyDeleteAnother question... Did they name the Coulter baby girl yet??
DeleteAbigail, No... they didn't give a name for the baby, yet. They only said something like they were looking for the perfect name for their perfect little girl.
DeleteAs for the house, I don't want to spoil the episode for you... but Elizabeth lets Lucas know she is happy right where she is in her home next to Rosemary and Lee.
"Napa Ever After" was so good! :-) We really liked the movie and would watch it again. :-)
