Please note: I have not pre-screened the new Hallmark movie airing this weekend. If you'd like to leave a review for this movie or any others, please share in comments below.

  1. Hidden Gems looks pretty good, course, anything with Hallmark is now 50-50 on being watchable. -Maria

  3. nice variety.

I saw that Chad will be in a CTV series, Sullivan's Crossing, filming in Nova Scotia. Robyn Carr, the author of the book series, said they hope to have it on a US-based channel, too. Her other series is on Netflix (Virgin River).

  5. four more and with a lot of the stars now heading over to GAC Family with new deals, like Candace Cameron Bure, which puts the Aurora Teagarden franchise at a standstill, this would be the perfect time to add King into the mix. Heck, while the gettin’s good, why not lock her into a mystery series of her own?

  6. Net, love your scripture verse above. That is comforting to me.

Thank you Maria for letting us know we have one safe movie to watch this weekend plus the movies on GAC.

  7. Hidden Gems is family friendly. Addison “Addie” Watson’s family heirloom is her Grandma’s ring was founded by her Grandfather whose was served in The Philippines. Her family trips to Hawaii for Addiie’s Sister; Kate & her fiancΓ©’s wedding day. Addie’s ring called; “Sea of Pearl”, was lost in the ocean during paddled yoga. It’s made by Addie’s Grandpa for her Grandma. She meets Jack on his yacht πŸ›₯ called Gem of the Ocean because it’s his day off. Addie begs him to find her ring. Jack & Addie go scuba diving to look for the ring with metal detector & scooper. Jack finds the ring πŸ’ for Addie but it’s not its. The guy with metal detector with scooper finds Addie’s ring under the sand since tide during midnight hunt. He shows Addie’s ring to Jack. Addie wanna stay in Hawaii to become marine biologist where’s dolphin 🐬 & aquarium is. Jack put Addie’s ring πŸ’ on her finger on his yacht.

  9. Hidden Gems has a lot of perkiness (some of which can be really annoying), the acting is a bit weird and stilted quite a lot of the time, it feels weirdly written, and yet it's also clean. And that means me taking a risk in watching this without reading a review the next day was worth it in the end, which is a big win with this network now. -Maria

    1. Maria, I know what you mean about diving in to watch without receiving a review first. Honestly, I sometimes hesitate to even record the first showing knowing I'll give a show ratings, even if I don't end up watching it.

Good to hear this one is, at least, family friendly. We (I'm know I'm not alone here) appreciate you watching and letting us all know.

I shared your review on the main Hidden Gems page here:

  11. In Hidden Gems, somewhat its looks familiar since I was watching 1980s TV show; “Magnum PI”, starring Tom Selleck as Magnum PI - Buddhist Temples & where Addie, her Sister, female friend, & tour guide Jack go on their adventures. Jack takes some pictures at Buddhist Temples with Addie’s iPhone.

    1. Yes! Hallmark desperately needs to create more mysteries. I wish they hadn't let all of the old ones go. So many of those stories were left unfinished; I think many are hesitant to get involved in a new mystery series that may or may not finish either.

    2. It's very hard to understand where Hallmark is coming from on this.

If they had decided not to continue with mysteries altogether while it would have been disappointing I would have reluctantly accepted it.

But why go the trouble of "starting" new franchises when many of the old ones were popular with the viewers and brought in good viewing figures and even worse had unfinished storu lines?

Admittedly there were a few which were limoing along but wht tar all with the same feather?

I just wish they would treat us with some respect and state categorically which had been cancelled.

Incidentally notwithstanding the mystery the chemistry between Nikki Deloach and Andrew Walker in the recent Curious Caterer movie was just leaping off the screen! - Florence

  14. I’m looking forward to “Our Dream Wedding” the most. Thanks Net and Maria!

Did you see Brian Bird’s interview video. He said they have plans for season 10 and it would 100% continue even if Hallmark won’t. Hope that encourages all Hearties out there. πŸ’•

    1. Abigail, I haven't seen the video, but I've read text from it and it is very encouraging and curious, too. Does he mean GAC could pick it up IF Hallmark lets it go??? Wow! That would be huge. I have a feeling lots of deals are being made behind-the-scenes. Surely Hallmark wouldn't end it before giving us Season 10 with the wedding and the baby?!?!?!? But... lots of changes are happening at Hallmark, so who knows what they are thinking???

I keep thinking they'll do something similar, like they've done with Chesapeake Shores - by saying here is one more season... oh, and by the way, this is the end. With such a big cast, it may be hard to get all of these actors on board again if they put it off much longer.

    2. If Hallmark will cancel WCTH for Season 10 so, it will move to GAC for crossover with When Hope Calls. I wonder what happen to Mountie Jack since Northern Territories via Fort Clay that he passed away. Mountie Gabriel was served with Mountie Jack at Northern Territories, not Mountie Nathan. Not mention storylines since none of them of the screenplay screenwriters were never write them in the stories. Mountie Jack & Mountie Nathan never meet when if they saw each other. Brookfield Residents; Lillian, Grace, Mountie Gabriel, & orp could visit Hope Valley.

    3. I really hope they do choose to renew. I’m surprised they are waiting so long, especially since the last season ratings were super high.

  16. Our Dream Wedding

This has to be hands down one of THE best movies in a very long time! It was familiar yet with a twist that kept it new and interesting. I'm glad Natalie had her grandmother in the alternate reality to help her. I was so happy when she realized that her and Scott were meant to be. This is better than any Hallmark movie this year IMO!!! I'm still smiling.

  17. I wanted to try the Summer Nights movies cause I was happy that they have finally gone back to the location Summer Nights movies, I liked the year they had the one with Catherine Bell and Cameron Mathison, and then the Pearl in Paradise, i think that was the year they did the movie on the cruise ship with the Pena Vegas. But anyway, i like the Summer Nights when they go to Summer Places. So I wanted to try and watch Hidden Gems and Carribean Summer (those are the only 2 I can muster up the interest to watch cause Moriah's lighthouse looks boring and all the accents, and I am not a fan of Ashley Williams so i know I wont watch the 2 tickets movie). So I watched the 1st movie Hidden Gems and it was.......

So GOOD. I loved the movie, saved it and will watch again. I know Hunter King from soaps, and she is a good actress. I didnt know the male lead but i liked him. I liked everyone in the movie (although the parents seemed stiff and unnatural). I liked that the movie seemed realistic, the family all banded together to help Kate with her big break in designing and that left Addie to leave her dream and they did rely on her so much so it was hard to even talk about wanting to go back to her dream. She was so grateful to be given the opportunity and it was hard to leave it cause it would have certainly meant a big future of fame, money and all that. But she wanted to live her dream and meeting Jack showed her that. And Jack gave up going on his around the world trip for now, by paying for her ring founded by the (bad) guy. But they said they would go together. it was a really good movie, no over the top bride, just a small wedding in Hawaii with the family and i loved it.

Nothing really seemed hard to believe, i am sure people lose things in the water and they have someone find it. Only thing, i am sure the family had to have some money, couldnt they have paid Jack back? Maybe they did. Her sister was a designer that people supposedly loved. But Jack wanted to spend that money on Addie's ring cause it meant something to him cause it was so important to her.

I will let you guys know when i watch Caribbean Summer. It looks really good, but right now I am LOVING Hidden Gems.
