UPtv is starting off the month of April with an inspirational film, and Hallmark ends the weekend with an all new When Calls the Heart!
Also, if you enjoy classic movies, as I do, from time to time, then I have a fun suggestion for you.
See all the details below...

With business going downhill, she is forced to work with a professional restaurant consultant, Ben (Hynes), to see if they can turn things around. At first, Elizabeth resists the changes Ben believes will save the restaurant, but as they get closer, Elizabeth realizes that not all change is bad. She rediscovers her passion for baking and might even open her heart to new love.

When a devastating knee injury forces Zach to the sidelines, his brother laces up his cleats to compete in track and field.

Sunday, April 3, 2022:
TCM (Turner Classic Movies) is having a special movie marathon Sunday in memory of Doris Day on what would have been her 100th birthday. (She passed away in May of 2019.)
My personal movie pick from the marathon is...
Storyline: The Winfield family moves into a new house in a small town in Indiana. Tomboy Marjorie Winfield (Doris Day) falls for the boy-next-door in the years before World War I.
(The movie includes various seasons: including Spring and Winter, which includes Christmastime, of course! The Christmas song Doris Day sings near the end of the movie is absolutely beautiful, it always gives me chills and basically all-the-feels!)
On Moonlight Bay
airs Sunday, April 3, 2022
at 12pm/11c. on TCM
* "On Moonlight Bay" is available on DVD with it's sequel, "By The Light Of The Silvery Moon." See current price details at Amazon.
I hope you all have a wonderful weekend. Some of you may recall, I share my birthday with Doris Day, so I'll be spending time with my precious family on my day. Family is truly the greatest gift!
As for the new movies, I may not be able to catch as much this Saturday and Sunday, but my DVR is set. How about you? Which movie (or show) looks most appealing to you this weekend?
*Please note: I have not pre-screened the new movie premieres. If you'd like to give a review after they air, please share in comments.
Blessings to you all, Net

DeleteHappy Birthday Net! I hope you ate lots of cake smothered in ice cream with chocolate sauce and maybe some strawberries too! Lol! Did you have some of your mom's or is it your grandmother's pound cake that's well known in your family? Love you Net! I hope you have many more wonderful birthdays in the years to come!
ReplyDeleteJoyce, How sweet and thoughtful of you to remember! Yes! My momma and sister always bake me my grandmother's (we called her Ma-Ma) million dollar pound cake! It was absolutely delicious! Plus, we had ice cream, too, of course! It was all wonderful. I had several relatives and friends reach out and call to wish me Happy Birthday, too, which is always special. What a blessing to have dear friends like you! Much love to you, as well! Thank you for making my day even brighter - with your sweet message! :)
DeleteThis weekend I opted to watch a DVD instead of anything new. I recorded movies to watch later. I watched God's Not Dead/We The People and enjoyed it very much. One of my favorite scenes was the little boy coming into the church, hugging the Muslim man, and talking with him. Another was the Muslim man from the first God's Not Dead movie, reuniting with the daughter he had thrown out of their home when she became a Christian. So happy they brought that full circle. The Muslim man acknowledging the existence of Jesus by praying in church. This is an awesome movie! If you love Jesus and America, a must see! It applies to where we are today in the USA.
ReplyDeletekitkat, I'm so glad to hear how much you enjoyed "God's Not Dead: We The People." It is, indeed, such a powerful film, with an incredible message. I pray it changes hearts and turns people to Jesus! So glad you liked it! I agree - it's a must see! :)
DeleteVery much enjoyed the movie with Autum Reeser and Tyler Hynes.
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing; I'm glad to know you enjoyed "Always Amore."

Just 1 Kiss was another ratings dud for Hallmark, only 1.45 million viewers. (Just as well, because this 'sneaking in gays' junk needs to be stopped at all costs!), and Always Amore only barely got above 1 million viewers.
ReplyDeleteHallmark needs to stop trying to please both sides, it doesn't work like that, and you'll just end up chasing your main audience away in trying to please another side that could hardly care less about what Hallmark does in their movies. -Maria
