A Vineyard Romance
Original Air Date: September 5, 2021
Starring: Rebecca Olson and Marcus Rosner
Story-line via UPtv: When Seattle magazine writer Samantha Hart is sent home to write an article about the wedding destination of Hawthorne Vineyards, she discovers the ex who broke her heart not only runs the vineyard, but he’s about to get married there.
Review:
🌞 "A Vineyard Romance To me Marcus Rosner is the male equivalent of Cindy Busby - very hit and miss. I've seen him in a secondary role in many Hallmark movies and although he has moved to taking the lead role most of these are for other productions. He really shone through here though and I don't think I've seen him looking so well in a long time. It helped that my favourite plot is that of sweethearts re-united and although there is nothing here that you won't have seen before Rebecca Olson - whom I don't recall seeing before - complemented him perfectly, the chemistry was great and their interaction made this seem fresh and capivating. I loved the banter between them, the familiarity yet awkwardness evident from the start. The secondary cast was good too - it was so funny to see Liam's best man trying to pluck up the courage to ask Sam's old school friend out on a date but bottling it at the last minute and coming up with some inane question! It was nice too that Liam's fiancee was really a good person. The plot was well constructed and the production excellent - the scenes where the working of the winery were explained I found very interesting. One of those unexpected little gems that UPtv has come through with this year which I thoroughly enjoyed. Thanks" - Florence
🌞 "What a sweet movie from UPtv! This felt very much like a Hallmarkesque rom-com, and I mean that in the best possible way. I loved the beautiful setting of the Hawthorne Vineyards and the fact that magazine writer Samantha Hart (Rebecca Olson) is sent back to her hometown to write a story about a big wedding, which ironically, ends up being for her ex-boyfriend, Liam Hawthorne (Marcus Rosner). I thoroughly enjoyed this clean, romantic story… Rebecca Olson and Marcus Rosner had wonderful chemistry together on screen. The dancing was fun, and I loved the awkwardness between the two as Samantha “Sam” gradually convinced Liam to let her interview him for the article. While it’s quite obvious the two still have strong feelings for one another, nothing happens while Liam is still engaged. This family friendly movie is a definite keeper for me!" ~Net
🌞 "Agree with Net and Florence - I enjoyed "A Vineyard Romance"." ~~Jane

Love in Translation
Original Air Date: September 12, 2021
Starring: Michelle Argyris and Corey Sevier
Story-line via UPtv: Linguistics Ph.D. student Julie Walters can speak almost every language and believes that languages are best learned when doing fun activities like taking a painting class, hiking or visiting a Museum. When Dan, the handsome curator at the museum Julie dreams of working at, contacts her about French classes, sparks soon fly – could this be the perfect match?
Review:
🌞 "I watched Love In Translation for the second time and enjoyed it even more. A simple but sweet love story. Corey Sevier is a favorite since watching Mr. Write, but I am not familiar with his co-star. Plan to keep this on my DVR." ~kitkat
🌞 "Love In Translation One of those movies which makes a pleasant couple of hours viewing on a rainy afternoon! For some strange reason I got the wrong end of the stick and thought this was going to be set in France but no. Certainly family friendly this was a very gentle movie which ambled along at a pedantic pace. Michelle Argyris is new to me and Corey Sevier was his usual inimitable self - I thought both acted their parts well although the chemistry between them was pretty low key. Dan's parents were decidedly wacky and there was something off-key about Julie's sister, maybe they were trying for a bit of light comedy. Dan's girlfriend only made brief appearance on his mobile until very late in the film. A simple plot and the big misunderstanding at the end only lasted a couple of minutes. I kept waiting for something to happen but in the event nothing really did. In all honesty I can't say that I didn't quite enjoy it but just felt there was something missing." Florence's rating - 6

Romance in the Wilds
Original Air Date: September 26, 2021
Starring: Kaitlyn Leeb and Victor Zinck Jr
*Note: Romance in the Wilds is available on DVD at Amazon - *click here* - and it's the first part of two movies, followed by Christmas in the Wilds, also newly available on DVD at Amazon - *click here*! (I'm hoping this means UPtv plans to air Christmas in the Wilds, too, but we will have to wait and see!
Romance in the Wilds - Story-line via UPtv: Deep in the Rocky Mountains, lightning strikes a mining site, sparking a deadly wildfire and igniting an unexpected romance between a forest ranger and a geologist as they race to escape the flames.
Review:
🌞 "This movie is definitely different than the usual rom-com; it’s a true action-packed adventure set in the Rocky Mountains with two people thrown together in a life and death situation – as they try to escape a deadly wildfire recently sparked by lightning at a nearby mining camp. Buck Thompson, (played by Victor Zinck Jr.) as the local forest ranger, warns geologist Jessica Alaway (Kaitlyn Leeb), just before flames take away her work-site. She is able to get her dog Charlie and her important work before they set off to safety… which ends up being much harder than they thought. Buck, Jessica, and Charlie (the dog) work together through many terrifying obstacles. It is also mentioned that Buck served two tours in Afghanistan, and as they are trying to escape, he is dealing with PTSD over losing his military K9. Overall, Romance in the Wilds is a captivating movie, it’s intense, but not too scary, and minus some wildfire type explosions/violence, it is family friendly!" ~Net
🌞 "Net, your review is perfect for Romance In The Wilds. I watched the entire movie last night and loved it. This is a beautiful story. Can't wait for Christmas In The Wilds! It is rare to use same cast in a continuation movie. I wonder if UP will show Christmas In The Wilds before the DVD release in Nov." ~kitkat

Are you looking forward to watching these new movies on UPtv?
Please Note: I have not pre-screened these movies. If you would like to post a review on whether these movies are family-friendly, please share in comments. These movies may have previously aired in Canada on the W Network.
Blessings on your day! Net
This is an original title for “lLove in Vine”
ReplyDeleteThey change from Love in Vine to Vineyard Romance
Great news - this was a movie I was hoping would turn up sometime - the storyline looks really interesting!
ReplyDeleteAlso delighted that UPtv have picked up Love Upstream with Steve Lund - Florence
Love Marcus so, yes, I'm looking forward to this movie.
ReplyDeleteI like the sound of it.
ReplyDeletedenise
Rreally excited that UPtv will hopefully have more new Rom.Coms in September - I really like the sound of the plot for this one.
ReplyDeleteOne movie I'm really surprised never turned up anywhere was A Wedding To Remember with Greyston Holt plus there are several Jeese Hutch movies which no-one seems to be airing - Florence
Florence, Funny that you mentioned that. I was just looking through some DVDs at Amazon and there was "A Wedding to Remember" starring Greyston Holt and Cristina Rosato. Apparently, it's going to be released on DVD soon.
DeleteLast I checked, it was "currently unavailable," but if you (or anyone reading this) would like to check the current availability, here's the link:
https://amzn.to/2XrV8Lp
I wonder if other movies from Reel One will eventually be released on DVD, too, especially the ones that were never picked up by any of the networks.
That's Amazon.Canada and they won't deliver to the United States or United Kingdom so it looks like it will probably only be available in Canada - Florence
ReplyDeleteI see what you mean - it is currently available on Canada's Amazon website, but the link I shared is from the Amazon United States site DVD pre-order list. It's currently not available here, though. Looks like it came out in Canada first.
DeleteNet - is there any special section on Amazon.Com where you can see a list of upcoming Movie DVDs?
ReplyDeleteIt's getting difficult to keep track of them now - many are going straight to streaming.
Thanks.
I'm going to get a copy of A Wedding To Remember when it becomes available - Florence
Florence, I try to keep a look on it from time to time... here's the link I use for finding new pre-order DVDs at Amazon:
Deletehttps://amzn.to/3gtAi4W
By the way, this is my Amazon affiliate link; therefore, I earn from qualifying purchases from anyone who clicks through it.
Hope "A Wedding To Remember" is released soon and we'll see more from this production company on DVD.
Keep them coming, UPtv!
ReplyDeleteAccording to their Website UPtv are premiering Love In Translation starring Michelle Argyris and Corey Sevier on Sunday 12 September! - Florence
Thank you for sharing, Florence... I'll try to add this one soon! I was hoping they would play this one on UP! :)
DeleteAlso, were you the one who asked about comments under the Family Schedule not showing up?
Since there are so many comments on that page there is a link there at the bottom that says "Load more..." After you click that, you should be able to see them all.
Thanks - evntually discovered it!
DeleteMany thanks for the link, Net
ReplyDeletePlenty of Hallmark movies on it but there doesn't seem to be any system - they're not listed in alphabetical order nor in date order! - Florence
Florence, I hear ya! They used to list them by release date, and I really liked that. Maybe it's possible to see it that way and I need to click around some more to find out. Some sort of order would be better than having to go through 30-40 pages.
DeleteBy the way, you probably saw it, but just in case...
A Wedding to Remember is available now!
See here: https://amzn.to/3j9oM0h
If I use this link will you get credit for it? - Florence
DeleteYes, thank you for asking. (I should've mentioned that.)
DeleteMore Marcus Rosner & Corey Sevier! I'm not complaining, trust me. But I am surprised, these guys are busy making movies.
ReplyDeleteYes there do seem to be a lot of movies being made by these guys plus Jesse Hutch.
ReplyDeleteI reckon we could get 3 or possibly 4 new movies from UPtv before the Christmas season starts.
My picks would be:
A Romance Wedding - Morgan Kohan & Drew Nelson
Romance At Crystal Cove - Stephanie Bennett & Jesse Hutch
A Bridesmaid In Love - Tori Anderson & Sean Pogue
For The Love Of Chocolate - Rhiannon Fish & Jesse Hutch
Love Map - Ashley Bratcher & Reed Favero
I wouldn't be too hopeful about these although the two with Jesse Hutch are distinct possibilities - Florence
Doesn't look like there's going to be a new Rom.Com om 19 September
ReplyDeleteThat's right. They are encoring the movie "Hearts on Fire" (or "Second Chances") with Alison Sweeney, Greg Vaughan, and Ed Asner on Sept 19th in that typical new movie time slot at 7pm/c.
DeleteHere's an interesting one - UPtv have scheduled Romance In The Wilds starring Kaitlyn Leeb and Victor Zinck Jnr for 26 September.
ReplyDeleteIt's not from Reel One Entertainment.
Haven't heard of this before - I hope it doesn't mean they are deserting Reel One.
I notice that there is a movie in production called Christmas In The Wilds with the same lead actors.
I wonder will UP show this as a sequel in their Christmas movies? - Florence
Thank you, Florence, for sharing this news. I added the poster and story details above.
DeleteThat's very interesting they are airing this movie. Misty and I were just talking the other day about this movie, Romance in the Wilds, being part one to the Christmas movie, Christmas in the Wilds, and at the time, this movie wasn't even available on DVD, but now it is!
UPtv has been known to air a mix of movies from various production companies, including Brain Power Studio, INSP Films, and Imagicomm Entertainment. Plus, PixL Movies and of course, Reel One. So, I imagine, we will continue to see many more this Fall and Christmas!
And, I can't help but wonder if this means they plan to air the sequel Christmas movie this holiday season!
See details on the movie Christmas in the Wilds - here:
Deletehttps://itsawonderfulmovie.blogspot.com/2021/09/christmas-in-rockies-and-more-christmas-movie-dvd-releases.html
Phew, that makes me feel a bit easier - it would be a disaster if UP was to stop shwing Reel One movies.
ReplyDeleteI have enjoyed so many of the recent ones and A Whirlwind Wedding is one of my favourite movies of the year to date - Florence
A Vineyard Romance

Florence, Oh my goodness - your review is fantastic! Spot on! As I read it, I kept thinking - yes! yes! yes! - that's exactly how I felt while watching. Your review was beautifully written and expressed. I, too, thought their chemistry was wonderful. Thank you for sharing this lovely review. I posted it above!
DeleteMy best guess is that there will be 2 more new as yet unannounced Rom.Coms on UP before the Christmas programme begins.
ReplyDeleteHere's hoping they will be from Reel One - Florence
I watched Love In Translation for the second time and enjoyed it even more. A simple but sweet love story. Corey Sevier is a favorite since watching Mr. Write, but I am not familiar with his co-star. Plan to keep this on my DVR.
ReplyDeletekitkat, Thank you, again, for this review - I added it above! Corey Sevier is a favorite of mine, too - since he was a young boy in the "Little Men" series. Those are all so wonderful - very family friendly, I highly recommend the series. He's also great in the Lifetime Christmas movie: "Grounded for Christmas."
DeleteAnd his co-star, Michelle Argyris, starred in a Lifetime Christmas movie last year, too... "Homemade Christmas."
Thanks Net! I am not familiar with Little Men but I will look for the DVD. I did see Grounded For Christmas and loved it. Corey Sevier is a gifted actor. He never appears to be acting but living the part.
Deletekitkat, I love the way you described Corey's acting - he is truly gifted. Wait until you see him as a young boy in Little Men... you will be blown away!
DeleteUnfortunately, Little Men isn't available on DVD. If it was, I would buy in a second! I stream them through Pureflix on my Roku; however, they are also currently available through Amazon Prime free for those who have Prime membership.
See here:
https://amzn.to/2W6o1ww
It's kind of cross between Little House on the Prairie and When Calls the Heart; it is such a beautiful series.
Grounded For Christmas was one of the few Lifetime movies I liked in 2019.
DeleteA simple yet absorbing movie - Florence

Thanks Net for info on Little Men. I do have Prime. Looking forward to watching.
ReplyDeleteOh dear, I'm beginning to get uneasy as to UP's future plans.
ReplyDeleteOn 3rd October they're showing The Wedding Planner with Jennifer Lopez and Matthew McConaughey which is from way back and then later in the week they're airing Sleepless In Seattle.
Really hope this isn't a change in direction for them - Florence
Florence, I saw that, too. I think they may be planning for Christmas; perhaps, that's why they are scheduling some older movies now.
DeleteThere are definitely new movies coming for the holiday season - I shared some in my new weekend post here:
