Sunday, August 1, 2021:

This next movie suggestion is not a new premiere; however, I missed sharing the original premiere date with you all back in April, so now that there are two encore showings coming up, I thought I would share these dates/times - in hopes that you might be able to catch one of them!

See the encore airing of...

Storyline: The owner of a quaint New Zealand yarn shop, Sophie Dale, gets her world flipped upside down after learning her top supplier of yarn, King Farms, is stopping production. Much to her surprise, the charming yet stuck-in-his-ways Samuel King has traveled all the way from New York to audit the business model of the farm. Desperate to keep her shop going, Sophie convinces Samuel to give her two weeks to learn the ropes of yarn spinning and raise enough money to buy the mill herself. With Samuel’s help, Sophie comes up with a fundraising plan to host a “knit-off” and auction at the local makers market. However, when the two weeks come to an end Sophie finds herself at the crossroads of business and romance. Could she have misinterpreted Samuels growing romantic interest in her as just business all along?

Sunday, August 1, 2021

(be sure to set your DVR on Saturday!)

Another encore airing of

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend as we transition from July to August. It's been so hot here in the Midwest lately with high, sultry, tropical humidity. Being outdoors, therefore, has been less than enjoyable. This weekend, however, we are expecting milder temps and lower humidity, so I'm looking forward to enjoying some comfortable weather and outdoor activities. Hope your weather is pleasant, too!

As I mentioned above, it's going to be hard to say goodbye to Christmas in July on Saturday, but I'm hopeful we'll have many wonderful Christmas movies to look forward to this upcoming holiday season.

Please Note: I have not pre-screened the new movies above. If you'd like to share a review after the movies air, please share in comments. Thank you!

Blessings to you all, Net

SHINING HIS LIGHT:

The Parable of the Lost Sheep

10 “Take heed that you do not despise one of these little ones, for I say to you that in heaven their angels always see the face of My Father who is in heaven. 11 For the Son of Man has come to save that which was lost.

12 “What do you think? If a man has a hundred sheep, and one of them goes astray, does he not leave the ninety-nine and go to the mountains to seek the one that is straying? 13 And if he should find it, assuredly, I say to you, he rejoices more over that sheep than over the ninety-nine that did not go astray. 14 Even so it is not the will of your Father who is in heaven that one of these little ones should perish.

UPtv AUGUST 2021 TV Movie Premieres! 🌞 SEE HERE:

Look for these NEW Movie Premieres on UPtv!

Love Stories in Sunflower Valley, starring Erin Cahill and Marcus Rosner, is coming in August and more - see below!

See details on these movies...

🌞🌞🌞🌞🌞🌞🌞🌞🌞🌞

Love Stories in Sunflower Valley

Original Air Date: August 15, 2021

Starring: Erin Cahill and Marcus Rosner

Story-line via UPtv: Kate Francis has been a loyal assistant at a Seattle newspaper for the past five years. When one of her story ideas finally gets accepted, the assignment takes her back to her charming hometown of Sunflower Valley. But unexpectedly, handsome newcomer and longtime writer Drew Hutton is also coming along. They work together and unravel a series of heartwarming love stories about the local town people. As they delve deeper into these tales of life and love, will they find their own?

Reviews:

🌞 "I saw this on YouTube. It was ok. Lovely area they filmed it at though!" ~Misty

🌞 "I'm not a big Erin Cahill fan but I think most here should enjoy this. I won't say anything in advance but can confirm that it is family friendly." ~Florence

🌞 "I thought this movie was very sweet and family friendly. It made me want to visit Sunflower Valley and have a picnic and take a bicycle ride. Erin Cahill's character Kate is assisting Drew Hutton (Marcus Rosner) with his story on Olivia, a romantic matchmaker, who brought together numerous couples in Sunflower Valley. Drew is not necessarily a skeptic when it comes to love, be he fears falling in love and losing that love, as his father did. Kate, on the other hand, is overly optimistic when it comes to matters of the heart and may end up convincing Drew, as well. Kate's parents are a fun addition to the story, as well as all the couples they interview for the Love Stories in Sunflower Valley article. This is an easy-going, lighthearted story in a lovely country setting." ~Net

🌞 "I really enjoyed UPtv's "Love Stories in Sunflower Valley" It was a very sweet movie. I really liked Erin Cahill and Marcus Rosner. The lead characters helped each other grow as a person and of course they fell in love." ~Namegirl

🌞 "I just watched Love Stories in Sunflower Valley last week. I would highly recommend it. Loved everything about it, Drew's politeness to Kate's sweet parents, all the couples telling their stories of how Olivia matched them, the kindness Drew shows to Kate at the mid-end, and of course the many, many sunflowers EVERYWHERE in the small town. I really enjoyed it. Loved Erin and Marcus together. Planning to watch the Unveiled movie tonight with my mom. Looking forward to it. ❤🌺" ~Abigail

🌞 "Love Stories in Sunflower Valley is very sweet!" -Maria

Love Upstream

Original Air Date: August 22, 2021

Starring: Kimberly-Sue Murray and Steve Lund

Story-line via UPtv: Best selling author Charlotte Meyers, the epitome of a sophisticated Chicago city girl finds herself spending a month in the wilderness of Minnesota to research and write her new book “The City Girl’s Guide to Wilderness Survival.” Her personal wilderness guide is ROB – a handsome, down-to-earth, guy who doesn’t expect Charlotte to do very well in his neck of the woods. However, before long, they realize they have far more in common than not – and soon find themselves falling in love.

Review:

🌞 "I really enjoyed Love Upstream with Steve Lund. If it is released on DVD I'll probably buy it." ~Namegirl

🌞 "This is a lighthearted rom-com, loved the concept of the city girl trying to make it in the wilderness. I really enjoyed the comedy parts; I only wish there had been more. The movie is family-friendly, but I want to caution there were 2 uses of the phrase "Oh My G--." ~Net

🌞 "I really enjoyed UPtv's "Love Upstream" with Steve Lund in a little more dramatic role." ~Namegirl

🌞 "I really enjoyed Love Upstream! I was laughing to myself quite a few times haha!" ~Anonymous

🌞 "Love Upstream My one line description would be "This could have been a good movie BUT...." Having seen a number of good reviews including the correspondents here and being a card-carrying member of the Steve Lund fan club! I was expecting really good things of this. First I agree with most of what has been said here. I thought the movie was well scripted and the plot of the city girl trying to make out in the wilderness was solid and appealing although I was expecting much more of the story to be set in the wilds of Minnesota - just as much time if not more actually took place in Chicago. I think they missed a chance to spend a bit more time outdoors making more of the scenery. There were cetainly some fine comedic moments throughout especially at the beginning when the resort's owner played by Nadine Whiteman Roden put the client who had fallen into the lake through her own fault but who was trying to claim negligence on the camp's part and avoid paying, in her place. Nadine and her husband were an inter-racial marriage which has now almost become obligatory in any movie! Generally the acting of the secondary characters especially Rob's brother was very good. And now the BUT......... I just couldn't relate to Charlotte the lead female played by Kimberley-Sue Murray an author whose failed realtionship caused the withdrawal of her latest book forcing her to look at new angles from which to write. I must be missing something for unlike almost everyone else I don't think she and Steve Lund made a good pairing and I didn't feel the chemistry between them. Obviously although meant to be her character she started out as arrogant and self-absorbed expecting the world to revolve around her and it struck a wrong note with me. The scene in which she and Rob met when they got stuck in an elevator and she threw a wobbler just had my teeth on edge. Of course as expected her character changed but it just didn't seem real , almost forced and I felt the part was over-acted. With a different actress in the lead role I feel this could have been a highly enjoyable movie. A dificult one for me to rate as there was much I enjoyed about it but I go for a 6" - Florence

🌞🌞🌞🌞🌞🌞🌞🌞🌞🌞

Love's Match

Original Air Date: August 29, 2021

Starring: Megan Hutchings and Robin Dunne

Story-line via UPtv: Smart and beautiful matchmaker Leah Price is the owner of dating website Soul match. But when one of her clients still doesn’t find love, Leah reluctantly agrees to allow devilishly handsome rival matchmaker Peter Beckett, whose specialty is arranging romantic meet-cutes, to help her. During the challenge to see whose technique rules, they find something they weren’t expecting… a perfect match for themselves!

Reviews:

🌞 "Love's Match was not a match for me. It was ok, but I am not a big fan of 'competing matchmakers' movies. Only one I liked was Midnight Kiss with that theme. How their dispute was just fixed within a commercial break made no sense either." ~Misty

🌞 "Love's Match All you can do is watch a movie and give your personal opinion on it and I'm afraid in the case of Love's Match I find it very hard to say anything positive apart from the good news that it is family friendly. Plots surrounding Daing Apps seem to be becoming very popular. The first twenty minutes or so as they set the scene were okay but it was rather fraught and seemed unrealistic to me. It became pretty obvious that Peter (the hero) had a hidden agenda and it became easy to guess what that was. The heroine Leah was pleasant enough but for me there was zero chemistry between the pair and the pace was pretty slow - in fact Leah's brother's romance although it was only a minor part of the movie looked more interesting. They had a few madcap situations which I assume were meant to be funny but which were just ludicrous. To be honest the acting was pretty mediocre all round and it became so dull that it really was a stuggle to make it through to the end which was rushed and stretched incredulity. I'm sure there'll be those out there who will like this but for me this was one of this year's poorest movies to date." ~ Florence's rating 3 - for the beginning and Leah's brother!

🌞 "Love's Match is very charming!" -Maria

🌞🌞🌞🌞🌞🌞🌞🌞🌞🌞

I think "Love Stories in Sunflower Valley" sounds and looks cute from the poster & info we've been given - thus far. Erin Cahill (A Timeless Christmas) and Marcus Rosner (Love on Harbor Island) are both familiar faces, so I think it will be fun to see these two paired up for this country story. UPDATE: I did enjoy this movie - see my review and others above!

Are you looking forward to watching these movies on UPtv?

Please Note: I have not pre-screened all of these movies. If you would like to post a review on whether these movies are family-friendly, please share in comments. Some movies previously aired in Canada on the W Network.

Nikki DeLoach to star in 2021 Fall Harvest Hallmark Channel Movie!

Exciting news for all of us Nikki DeLoach ("Cranberry Christmas") fans, she will be starring in an all new Fall Harvest movie, according to an article at Hartford Courant.

This Fall-themed movie, currently titled: Love at the Steeplechase (or I've also seen the title, Taking the Reins) will be Nikki's third Fall Harvest movie for the Hallmark Channel, following, or should I say "fall"-owing (haha!)... Truly, Madly, Sweetly and last year's premiere, Sweet Autumn.

Film details below are all according to the Hartford Courant...

Scott Porter, Janine Turner, Corbin Bernsen - image credit below

Nikki DeLoach's co-star is Scott Porter (The Good Wife, Friday Night Lights); plus, Janine Turner (Northern Exposure, Friday Night Lights) and Corbin Bernsen (Psych, When We Last Spoke) will portray Nikki's parents in the movie.

Most of the movie was filmed at Meadowbrook Horse Farm in Marlborough, Connecticut. Originally, the Hartford Courant mentions, Love at the Steeplechase was supposed to be a dressage movie, but the story changed to stadium jumping.

In Love at the Steeplechase (working title), "Meadow Brook Farm is a farm that Deloach’s character grew up on and comes back to after a long time spent away from it."

My Quick Take:

As a farm girl myself, who grew up in the country, I always love a good story that takes place in a farm setting... so I am very much looking forward to hearing more about this one. I think Nikki DeLoach will be terrific in this country role. I don't really know much about Scott Porter's work lately (I have watched some of Friday Night Lights years ago), but I think he looks like a good opposite for Nikki. I've always been a big fan of Corbin Bernson, especially his faith-based films, and I really like Janine Turner, as well. What do you think? Please share in comments below...
