I hope you all have a delightful Saturday and Sunday! Summer is always a busy time for us here on the farm, but I love the down-time with family on the weekends! I'm looking forward to watching the Carrie Underwood gospel concert on UPtv, plus one of the encore airings of I Can Only Imagine.

As far as Christmas movies go this weekend, I will try to re-watch some of my faves - including: On the Twelth Day of Christmas, A Christmas Detour, The Most Wonderful Time of the Year, and The Christmas Card... and that's just Saturday! I will also have to try and catch some of Let it Snow, A Royal Christmas, The Nine Lives of Christmas on Sunday, too... to Mark the 25th! How about you?

Which movies are you hoping to see?

Have a Wonderful Weekend, Everyone!

Blessings, Net

    1. Misty,

Oh good! I just love THE MOST WONDERFUL TIME OF THE YEAR, too! I think I almost know it by heart - I've seen it so many times and yet, I always can't wait to watch it again.

As for other movies listed that aren't on DVD...
ON THE TWELFTH DAY OF CHRISTMAS is a non USA compatible DVD at Amazon. Also, I don't believe CHRISTMAS LAND or 12 GIFTS OF CHRISTMAS are available... yet.

I was also surprised at how expensive Snow Bride and The Nine Lives of Christmas are. I can't imagine anyone paying $79.99 or $98.98 for ONE DVD. That is an unbelievable mark-up in price.

    2. The Most Wonderful Time of the Year is my favorite all-time Hallmark movie! I just love the humor in it. I wish there was a way I could see the actual script for it, because I think Henry Winkler ad-libbed a lot of his lines! I find myself saying a lot of his lines out-loud with him.

Also, this is one of the very few Hallmark movies that was released on blu-ray! I guess that is a testament to its popularity.

    3. Thanks, Net! I really enjoyed Chtistmas Land.

I had noticed that about Amazon...some things are way overpriced for books and movies.

    1. Chris, I would never buy any DVD that goes against my morals and personal beliefs.

I know some movies, perhaps aren't always the best, but if a story is lighthearted and silly and still family-friendly, I'm typically game! :)

      How about you???

    2. Probably The Christmas House and A Nashville Christmas Carol.

  5. Oh my! Carrie Underwood was magnificent last night. Loved every moment of the concert. I have the DVD in my cart on Amazon. If the DVD is all you want, Amazon has it much cheaper than Gaither.

Before Carrie, I watched I Can Only Imagine. Even though I have the DVD, I find myself watching on TV when it is shown.

Now I am looking forward to watching The Most Wonderful Time Of The Year tonight. Hope everyone will have a joyous weekend.

  6. Net, I ordered the Santa underneath the palm tree ornament to give to my daughter for Christmas. It is so unbelievably cute! My daughter loves the beach and all Santa things. Thanks for displaying this.

  7. I too loved the Carrie Underwood concert last night. And the dress she wore - wow! - she looked absolutely gorgeous in it!

It's a shame, though, that she and other artists have to perform in an empty stadium without an audience. I miss hearing the enthusiasm of the crowd, as I am sure the artists do. But she performed as if it were a packed house, with a good mix of slow and upbeat Christian songs. Definitely worth watching!

  8. kitkat & Mark 25 -

I got home last night and just missed the first 10 minutes of Carrie Underwood - but the rest was magnificent! Those old beautiful hymns never get old to me. (Thankfully, I recorded it, but there's also an encore airing Sunday morning.)

kitkat, I also love the movie, "I Can Only Imagine," what a powerful true story! MercyMe is truly fantastic!

Plus, how sweet of you to purchase that adorable Santa ornament for your daughter! I'm such a sucker for cute ornaments - they are my weakness when it comes to shopping for Christmas things! :)

    1. Net, I have the DVD of Carrie Underwood. Two day delivery! Amazon is fast! Love those old hymns that my grandparents listened to, my parents enjoyed, and I still enjoy. My church sings mostly new songs and many of those are good, but I prefer the old music.

Mark 25, I loved her dress! She is a beautiful lady inside and out.

    2. Forgot to say I watched Good Morning Christmas to mark the 25TH.

    3. Wow, kitkat, that is super fast! I know just what you mean about loving that old hymnal music.

I remember when we used to take out the hymnal when I was a little girl. Now, it's always displayed on a screen. I know the meaning is still there, but I loved holding that book of precious music in my hands and turning to such and such a page - and hearing the flipping of pages across the pews. Oh... such sweet memories!

Also, "Good Morning Christmas" is an ideal pick to mark the 25TH - I love that one, too! :)

  9. Here is a Hard one for you guys What Hallmark Christmas Military themed movies where the lead characters played a widowed person?

    1. Chris, Might that answer be "Operation Christmas?"

    2. There are 2 more Military themed Hallmark Christmas movies where the lead characters played a widowed person.
Did Julie Benz's husband pass away in Christmas Homecoming and Did Catherine Bell's husband pass away in Home For Christmas Day?

      Delete
    3. Chris, That's right. Those two movies also fit that question, as well. I believe both lost their husbands in military service.

I was thinking in "Operation Christmas," Marc Blucas' character had lost his wife.

  10. I love “the nine lives of Christmas!” So much so that my little brother bought me the dvd as my Christmas gift one year. Glad that was before it cost so much. Yikes! The grocery store scene where she buys the giant tub of ice cream is so funny and sweet- it’s my favorite :)

    1. What a sweet gift from your brother - so glad you got it when the price was reasonable!

I love that ice cream scene, too, and sooo many special moments in this movie: when Ambrose first comes in Zachary's house, when Zachary and Marilee meet in the cat food aisle, the sweet mistletoe kiss & of course, that end scene when Zachary gets on top of the firetruck and Marilee joins him. Awwww... It is all soooo good! :)
