Exciting news for all of us Nikki DeLoach ("Cranberry Christmas") fans, she will be starring in an all new Fall Harvest movie, according to an article at Hartford Courant.
This Fall-themed movie, currently titled: Love at the Steeplechase (or I've also seen the title, Taking the Reins) will be Nikki's third Fall Harvest movie for the Hallmark Channel, following, or should I say "fall"-owing (haha!)... Truly, Madly, Sweetly and last year's premiere, Sweet Autumn.
Film details below are all according to the Hartford Courant...
Scott Porter, Janine Turner, Corbin Bernsen - image credit below |
Nikki DeLoach's co-star is Scott Porter (The Good Wife, Friday Night Lights); plus, Janine Turner (Northern Exposure, Friday Night Lights) and Corbin Bernsen (Psych, When We Last Spoke) will portray Nikki's parents in the movie.
Most of the movie was filmed at Meadowbrook Horse Farm in Marlborough, Connecticut. Originally, the Hartford Courant mentions, Love at the Steeplechase was supposed to be a dressage movie, but the story changed to stadium jumping.
In Love at the Steeplechase (working title), "Meadow Brook Farm is a farm that Deloach’s character grew up on and comes back to after a long time spent away from it."
My Quick Take:
As a farm girl myself, who grew up in the country, I always love a good story that takes place in a farm setting... so I am very much looking forward to hearing more about this one. I think Nikki DeLoach will be terrific in this country role. I don't really know much about Scott Porter's work lately (I have watched some of Friday Night Lights years ago), but I think he looks like a good opposite for Nikki. I've always been a big fan of Corbin Bernson, especially his faith-based films, and I really like Janine Turner, as well. What do you think? Please share in comments below...

Oh fun! I did the Hallmark survey for this movie plot, and think it's fabulous that Nikki got the role. Seems like it will fit her very well. Corbin Bersen is the only other cast member I'm familiar with, but I like the quality he seems to bring to everything, so fingers crossed this movie is a winner!

Is this movie about Horse Racing?
ReplyDeleteI believe it's more about horse competitions; they mention stadium jumping.
DeleteThere was a hallmark survey about this and i said i would make every effort to watch this. this was one of the better movies in the surveys. So happy to hear its Nikki Deloach. Will look forward to watching this.

Nikki DeLoach and Scott Porter
This movie had the working title of Love at the Steeplechase.
Always rated Nikki DeLoach highly - in fact the only movie of her's which I can remember as being below par was Cranberry Christmas so I'm quite excited about this.
ReplyDeleteI've never heard of Scott Porter but he looks interesting and it seems as if the two should combine well.
I like the idea of the equine theme but of course with no details of any content given as yet it's hard to come to any judgement - Florence
This looks like something I’d watch, reminds me of something from hallmark years ago. I did a quick search on Scott and he has a nice family, wife and two children. Depending on how this goes, wonder if we’ll be seeing more of him on the network. Sometimes actors pop in, I like them, but then they are never seen again. CJ
ReplyDeleteIn general they seem to give the actors a two-movie contract if it's one they produce themselves rather than buy in - Florence
DeleteThanks for the notice. I posted the newspaper article to the Hallmarkies group on Facebook with the comment that Nikki Deloche is my favorite Hallmark actress. We'll see if it get accepted or not given that the photo in the article is not attributable to Crown Media.
ReplyDeleteScott Porter was in the movies called; “Music & Lyrica”, with Hugh Grant & Drew Barrymore, “Speed Racer”, & “Bandslam”with Vanessa Hudgens & Aly Michalka
ReplyDeleteOh, wow! I can't wait. And Janine Turner, too!

Denise, I love hearing your excitement - thank you for all of your wonderful comments! We missed you! :)
DeleteWill Nikki DeLoach do Christmas movie this year?
ReplyDeleteI think it's very likely! :)
DeleteWill there be a Hallmark Channel Fall Harvest movies that features kids going back to school?
ReplyDeleteProbably not, Chris, but that's a good idea for Fall Harvest.
DeleteIn the new movie on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries - "Finding Love in Mountain View," there are two young children who go to school and it looks like the fall season - so they may be going back. We will have to watch to see.
