It's here! The Season 8 FINALE for "When Calls the Heart" will finally arrive - this Sunday night. If you're a Heartie, then I'm sure part of you is ready to see the Elizabeth love triangle with Nathan and Lucas come to an end, while the other part is not quite ready to say goodbye to Hope Valley and all the characters we love. It was wonderful to have 12 episodes this season, and yet, I know we all wanted additional stories! That's the sign of a good show, when you leave your audience wanting more.

For those of you who don't watch WCTH, I've still got plenty of suggestions for you, too! There are lots of movies and more to enjoy on this special *Mother's Day* weekend. See below...

Return to the Wild West on INSP with legendary Bat Masterson...

Wild West Chronicles

*This is a 30 minute show that reenacts the old wild west. Caution: there will be violence.

Details via INSP: Love and vengeance are two very powerful emotions, and sometimes, the former can trigger the latter. In INSP’s newest original series Wild West Chronicles, newspaper reporter Bat Masterson will stop at nothing to uncover the truth behind the mysteries of the Wild West.

Wild West Chronicles is a historical anthology series that is inspired by the true tales of famous characters and unsung heroes of the American West, Masterson travels the frontier and investigates stories of both notorious criminals and heroic individuals who helped shape America. However, in the two-part episode “Bat Masterson and the Dodge City Dead Line,” (airing on Sunday, May 9th and Sunday, May 16th, at 5:30PM ET, respectively), viewers will see a different side of Masterson when he falls for local entertainer Dora Hand, whose death he avenges when she is cut down by an outlaw’s bullet.

Here are a few interesting facts about Bat Masterson:
• His real name is William Barclay Masterson.
• He spent 40 years attending almost every major boxing event in the U.S.
• He owned the Palace Variety Theater in Denver, Colorado.
• He died of a heart attack at his desk at the New York Morning Telegraph.

This two-part episode of Wild West Chronicles, entitled, “Bat Masterson and the Dodge City Dead Line,” will air on Sunday, May 9th (part 1) and Sunday, May 16th (part 2) at 5:30PM ET. on INSP.

Storyline via Hallmark: Elizabeth has finally realized who she's supposed to be with. Big changes are coming to Hope Valley. The town rallies together to say goodbye and good luck to one of their own.

airs at 9pm/8c. on the Hallmark Channel

*Schedule Note: WCTH is airing an additional 6 minutes, so you'll want to adjust your DVR accordingly!

💮💮💮💮💮💮💮💮💮💮

*Movie Note: There was mention that the movie "Cupids on Beacon Street" would be airing this Saturday on BYUtv, plus their streaming video on their web-site said it would be available this Saturday, May 8th; however, when I checked BYUtv's actual schedule it was not listed. So, I reached out to them to ask them about it. This was BYUtv's response: "Unfortunately that movie won't be available May 8th but will be available later -this summer, likely June. We will update the website!" I was glad to receive some clarification on that, and while we await that movie premiere, we can look forward to watching another movie from Incendo Productions, "As Gouda As It Gets," next week on BYUtv - I'll have more details soon!

In the meantime, I hope you all enjoy the movies and the finale episode of When Calls the Heart this weekend! I'm very much looking forward to seeing how they wrap up Season 8, and don't forget - WCTH is airing an additional 6 minutes, so you'll want to adjust your DVR.

In honor of this Mother's Day Weekend, I want to say how blessed I am to have such an incredible Momma, who is always so loving and caring. Her impact on my life is immeasurable. I love asking her advice on big and small things, as I truly value her opinion. Her walk with the Lord is my greatest inspiration; I'm truly grateful for her amazing love everyday.

This is my families' first Mother's Day without my paternal Grandmother, who we lost last year. It will be most unusual having this holiday without her; but we will think on the past and wonderful times spent together. I'll also be fondly remembering my Ma-Ma (my maternal Grandmother). Although she passed away when I was a little - I will forever cherish the memories and special times we shared together.

I pray all of you Mother's out there have a joyful Mother's Day!

God bless all of you dear friends who visit here! Net

  3. Happy Mothers Day to all the mamas here! Net, thanks for mentioning that WCTH is going to run over the regular time. I just set my DVR to record extra. I'm afraid many will not see the full end.

  6. Baby, It’s Cold Inside

    “Ice Hotel”

In 2017 the hotel moved to its current home at the Valcartier Vacation Village, a large family resort in Saint-Gabriel-de-Valcartier that also has a large indoor water park, winter tube slides, and an outdoor water park in the summer

  9. Although I'm not a Hearties fan I'm really surprised at the series ending.

I think the majority of people expected Elizabeth to choose Nathan especially the members here.

It could be one of two things - unlikely but maybe this could only be a stop in the road and the triangle will actually continue next Season or (and this is my hunch) Kevin McGarry could be leaving the programme which forced their hand.

Whatver I'm delighted for all you fans that you're getting another Season although I don't really think that was ever in doubt!

    1. No more of the love triangle, please. Nathan deserves a new love interest next season where there is no competition.

  10. What a totally disappointing finale!! I feel like Elizabeth has done nothing but hurt Nathan again and again all season. I'm hoping next season she will come to her senses and realize that Lucas isn't as wonderful and dreamy as she thought he was and that he is still kinda sneaky (why was he meeting with wyman walden?). And Nathan said that love is always worth fighting for. Lucas didn't seem to be fighting too hard when he told her he had to let her go and then was about to leave town...

    1. Lucas isn’t what he seems when he’s up to something unless Hope Valley residents will find out the truth about Lucas’ dark secrets on own

  12. Hugs sent to those that didn't like the finale. It's why I personally don't watch TV series in a long time. Either a favorite character leaves or the show goes into a direction I don't like. That's why I like the mystery movies better.

I missed the movie and the mystery movie. How were they?

  14. Just wanted to stop by and let everyone know that Baby, It's Cold Inside is family-friendly! I like both leads, and seeing more ice hotel wonders was delightful, and the story was nice, yet it didn't deeply draw me in like I like. I thought maybe I'm just becoming grumpy and picky, but, then I watched several of the new movies you told us about on BYUtv, Net. One of a Kind Love, Seasoned with Love, and You May Kiss the Bridesmaid all completely charmed me! Somehow, for me, they were more real and natural and engrossing. Glad to know I'm not just broken and unable to enjoy our wonderful, pleasant, cheesy movies anymore! ;-)

    1. Alicia, Thank you so much for sharing this review for "Baby, It's Cold Inside." I've been wondering about this one. So good to know it is wholesome and family-friendly.

I added your review to the main post for the movie - here. Thank you, again, for sharing with us!

  15. Hallmark is surely going to have to stop and have a good long think.

The viewing figures are in for Baby, It's Cold Inside and they are a disastrous 1.62m.

This is the lowest figure for a Saturday Premiere in yonks - it may even be ever.

    1. Anonymous, I love both stars in this movie (particularly Steve Lund) but they did not warm up to each other. It isn't surprising to me the ratings were low. First Steve Lund movie that did not hold my interest.

    2. Thank you, kitkat, for sharing this review. I'm halfway through watching it and I'm getting that same feeling. I think the timing of airing an ice castle movie in May was all wrong, too. I think they should've held it for next winter, or maybe aired in the fall, at least.

By the way, I posted your review on the main post - here.
