images: Hallmark Crown Media / UPtv

Labor Day Weekend is a wonderful time to relax, and I hope many of you will have the opportunity to do just that. I'm going to be spending this weekend with my family and we're looking forward to watching a movie or two - especially "I Can Only Imagine," "Love Takes Flight," and the "Signed, Sealed, Delivered" marathon!

Here are some highlights of the movies airing this weekend...

Saturday, September 5, 2020:

See the UPtv Cable Premiere of the Faith Based Movie...

image: UPtv

*CAUTION: This movie is not recommended for young viewers due to physical and mental abuse.

Storyline via UPtv: Growing up in Greenville, Texas, Bart Millard suffers physical and emotional abuse at the hands of his father, Arthur. When Arthur becomes terminally ill, he finds redemption by embracing his faith and rediscovering his love for his son. Years later, Bart’s troubled childhood and mended relationship with his dad inspires him to write the hit song “I Can Only Imagine” as singer of the Christian band MercyMe.

Saturday, September 5, 2020
at 9pm/8c. on UPtv

*Note: This movie is 2 hours and 30 minutes long!

Saturday, September 5, 2020:

Look for Candace Cameron Bure in "Finding Normal" and more inspirational movies throughout Saturday on UPtv - leading to the cable premiere of "I Can Only Imagine"

image: GMC

UPtv's Saturday Movie Schedule:

Courageous ... 11:30pm

*See my review of the Pureflix movie, "Finding Normal," starring Candace Cameron Bure - *HERE*!

*Cautions: In the film "In-Lawfully Yours" - there is a scene at the beginning of this movie where a husband is cheating on his wife. Also, there's some adult dialogue, so I do NOT recommended it for young viewers. Otherwise, this movie is quite funny for adults - I laughed so much watching it! Plus, there's a deeper story throughout the film about discovering faith.

Also, the movie "Courageous" is a great film for fathers, but please know it is rated PG-13, due to violence.

*Encore Showing: "I Can Only Imagine" encores Sunday night at 7pm. See UPtv's Sunday Schedule below...

  1. Happy Labor Day Net and everyone here! So much good viewing this weekend! Finding Normal is one I watch often. Also I Can Only Imagine. The God's Not Dead movies are wonderful. Jesse Metcalfe did his best acting ever in God's Not Dead 2. Plus all the POstables! Will have my recorder running all weekend. It is too hot here to be outside so a good TV weekend.

    1. kitkat, Happy Labor Day weekend to You! You're soooo right - lots of good ones to watch this weekend. Sorry to hear your weather is oppressively hot; it's been mild and pleasant here in the mid-west, finally - a welcome change from the heat.

I love all of the movies you mentioned! However, of all the wonderful "God's Not Dead" movies, the 2nd one is my absolute favorite! Like you, I also love Jesse Metcalfe in it, plus Melissa Joan Hart, Pat Boone, and in a small role, Sadie Robertson. I keep hoping UPtv will play it one day - so even more people can see it.

Have a great, cool, and relaxing weekend! :)

    1. So true, e.t.m.! I can watch them over and over again, and still discover something new, or it touches me in a different way depending on what is happening, either in my life personally, or in the world.

I'm hoping, along with you e.t.m., and all of the POstables - that we will have more SSD movies to watch someday! :)

  8. Saw the new dvd news and had to order Matchmaker Santa, Merry Matrimony and Help for the Holidays set. So excited to see them finally out on dvd. Now if they will just put Return to Christmas Creek, Window Wonderland, Thanksgiving House, Twelfth Day of Christmas, Farewell Mr. Kringle, Love in Paradise, Chasing Leprechauns, Christmas Land, and Love Always, Santa on dvd. WOW! That would be awesome. Lost Farewell Mr. Kringle when our dvr broke. Now I can clear a little more space on the dvr. I will probably buy some of the other new releases also, but need to wait til payday. So many good ones at once. Who ever expected this wonderful windfall. Thanks Hallmark. And thank you Net for keeping us posted on the new releases. God bless you and your family. RG

    1. RG, I'm so happy to hear how excited you are over this latest DVD news. Lot's of good ones just released, and I'm hoping, along with you, we'll see many more, especially during the Christmas season, when they seem to come out rapidly -- out of thin air! I'll do my best to keep you posted along the way.
