I'm pretty excited about ALL the NEW Christmas movies airing this Saturday and Sunday! Do I say that every weekend? Probably so, but there are definitely several potential good ones this weekend - on my MUST SEE list!
The soul-searching, inspiring storylines are the ones I'm most looking forward to seeing in: A Godwink Christmas: Meant for Love, Write Before Christmas, and Random Acts of Christmas!

The new Godwink movie is the one I mostly can't wait to see! And Jesse & Autumn together again! I had no idea there was so many well known 🌟stars🌟 with new movies this weekend. It's going to be hard to choose between them all.

Hallmark has decided to copy something Lifetime has done for a very long time and make all the movies go to 3 mins past the hour. And now that they have 2 movies on sat and sunday nights, it messed up my stuff recording last night my 10 pm stuff (which some are my husbands shows) couldn't record cause of Hallmark's 8 pm movie going to 10:03. Its getting ridiculous what Hallmark is doing for the ratings. I can't watch all this live, I have stuff to do, and now it appears I can't record it either.
ReplyDeleteOn a nicer note, I really liked Christmas Under the Stars, at first I thought it was kind of too sad, but I really loved all the happy feels the movie had towards the end. Jesse and Autumn shine. Jesse is a great actor, I love how he can play Trace, then a totally different guy in these movies and he is just so good. And Autumn is just one of my favorite Hallmark actresses.
I just wish Hallmark would not copy Lifetime with the 3 mins past the hour stuff. It was affecting my husbands football game last night as well, trying to change the channel cause too many things recording, for only 3 stinking minutes. Lifetime has done this for years. Hallmark just started, more and more I am feeling they only care about ratings now, and not anything else.
TV networks need decent ratings to survive, to gain advertisers and to continue to make more content. They don't operate out of the goodness of their heart, for our entertainment only, without some sort of benefit for them. They literally need ratings, or they lose sponsors and advertisers, which has a ripple effect and ultimately interferes with the budgets for other programming.
DeleteTV networks also compete with each other. It is just the nature of the industry. It's nothing new. If anyone thinks that Lifetime is not doing desperate things to keep up with Hallmark (such as "Lifetime Bingo" and staging a spur of the moment "meet the Lifetime celebrities for photos" event at a mall on the same weekend Hallmark's stars were meeting fans at Christmas Con)... they are very mistaken. Lifetime is grasping at anything they can to try to compete and steal viewers away.
I don't mind if Lifetime has been going 3 minutes past the hour for a long time. I'm just happy that now we can actually see the credits after Hallmark's movies now, which is thanks to them running a couple of minutes longer.
It is nice to see a little bit of the credits, but I agree, Sabrina, the three extra minutes does make it more challenging to catch things on other networks. I also missed a little of a show I watch weekly on another network because of the timing.

When the Hallmark holiday movie lineup was announced back in September, you may remember seeing the title “Alice in Christmasland” included… and then it moved around the schedule before finally disappearing altogether. Well–it’s back, and with a little bit of a title change!
ReplyDeleteYes, "Alice in Christmasland" has moved to Hallmark Channel's Winterfest. For now, though, they've changed the title again to the working title: "Winter Inn Love."
DeleteAnd now, it looks like Alice has been renamed Ally.

I watched all of these except "Christmas Cupcakes" and "Christmas in Louisiana" and they were all so good! I feel like Hallmark really stepped up the quality this year.
ReplyDeleteI can already tell it's going to be impossible for me to pick a favorite out of this year's Christmas movies. I give each movie I watch a rating, and so far, out of the 14 new movies I've seen from Hallmark, HMM, and Lifetime, 8 have gotten my highest rating (which means loved it and will watch it again multiple times) and 4 my next highest (which means mostly loved it). And it's not even December yet!
For comparison, 11 out of 41 new movies watched got my highest rating last year, and 10 out of 40 the year before. Unless the rest of this year's movies somehow have a dramatic drop in quality, which is highly unlikely, the ratio this year is going to be much higher!
And, yes, I realize this is very nerdy of me, LOL! What can I say? Hallmark movies are kind of a hobby of mine. :)
I love it, Amy! I used to rate all of the movies, too! I need to start doing that again. It was always so much fun to look back at which ones I rated the highest. We can be nerdy together! :)
