I'm very surprised that At Home in Mitford is airing so late - I thought they would move the Chesapeake Shores episode to an hour earlier, but they aren't. I hope that doesn't hurt ratings for the movie. Such an appealing cast with Andi and Cameron!
ReplyDeleteIs "At Home in Mitford" going to be a series or just a one time movie?
ReplyDeleteThat is an excellent question, Cindy. I believe Hallmark will probably wait for this movie to air and see how it is received before making any future plans. Sequels and on-going movies do seem to be quite popular with Hallmark now, but for this one, we will have to wait and see.

Very disappointed about Mitford. This was an extremely popular series of books many years ago and I always thought that it would be a great series for Hallmark. This production seems rushed as it only went into production a couple of months ago and since then I've seen almost no promotion for it at all. It seems as if Hallmark has no faith in it. And they're burying it at 10PM? I can understand that they want to piggy-back it with Chesapeake Shores but airing it from 10PM-Midnight? It's a shame because I am such a big fan of the original nine novels in the series. Less of a fan of the latest two which were released about ten years after the first series and seemed more of a money grab than anything else.
ReplyDeleteI'm beyond thrilled over Lee and Lindsay being back together again. My DVR is set although I do plan to watch it Saturday night as it premieres. It's great to see some older actors from my generation on Hallmark. Lots of the movies revolve around 30somethings these days.
ReplyDeleteEverything about Eat Play Love looks incredibly cute!!!!! Can't wait to watch this one!!!!!!

Every time I hear about Mitford I just can't believe it. The characters are such a poor attempt from the original story by Jan Karon. I'm sorry, but this can't be good.
ReplyDeleteThe "then" and "now" pictures really take me back and they both still look really great!
ReplyDeleteMy pick this weekend is Garage Sale Mystery: Murder Most Midieval. I watch mainly because I'm a fan of Lori, and not so much of murder mysteries, but these have all been really good this month. Usually, I can figure them out before Lori's character does, but that's okay I still like the challenge.
ReplyDeleteThank you Net and Hallmark. My weekends would be pretty lonely without you.
ReplyDeleteYou're welcome! I'm delighted to share Hallmark's family friendly movies with all of you! Hope you enjoy them all!

I remember watching The Six Million Dollar Man and The Bionic Woman as a kid. I think I was supposed to be in bed. School night or whatever, but Mom and Dad always let me and my older brother hang around a little longer to watch.
ReplyDeleteThat's such a fun memory, CJ! Thank you for so much for sharing! Hope you enjoy the new movie with Lee & Lindsay!!!
DeleteAt Home in Mitford might be a standalone nice movie, but it doesn't follow the Jan Karon book series whatsoever. As a Mitford book fan, who has longed for this to be a movie or series for so long, this is very disappointing.
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to watch Eat, Play, Love tonight - Lee Majors & Lindsay Wagner reunion
ReplyDeleteI found out Lindsay Wagner's character; Mrs. Gilbert is Rita Gilbert on Eat, Play, Love
ReplyDeleteI hope to see Lee Majors & Lindsay Wagner in the future movies together with Hallmark
It was great to see Lee Majors and Lindsay Wagner together again in such a charming movie. Fantastic of Hallmark to keep finding couples from the past to reunite. :)
ReplyDeleteWas thrilled to find out that I had the Hallmark Murder & Mystery channel. (Our cable has spaced out channels that are hard to find.) Yipee! Look forward to watching a new Garage Sale Mystery. Thanks Net for keeping me up to speed on the shows. :)
I enjoyed the Mitford movie. Updated with cell phones and computers and character names are familiar but not as I remember them. I feel like I have returned to Mitford after many years and I hope Hallmark will do more of the books.
ReplyDeleteAwesome article.
ReplyDeleteI hope there will be sequels to the Mitford book. It's different from the book, but I enjoyed it thoroughly.
