After a rocky start, she befriends the handsome executive chef and they begin bonding in the kitchen. Plus, after Valentine's Day...

LOVE BLOSSOMS
(technically Hallmark does not include this film with the other "Countdown to Valentine's Day" Movies, but it is a Valentine themed movie airing only days after Valentine's day - so I am!)

Under great pressure to finish by Valentine’s Day, Violet hires an inexperienced botanist with an uncanny ability to identify scents. It’s not long before their professional relationship turns romantic, threatening their deadline and feelings for each other.

  1. Hmmm, what happened to Valentine's Again? The Groundhog Day-like Valentine's Day-themed movie that Hallmark was promoting, and the page still exists on the website: http://www.hallmarkchannel.com/valentines-again

    1. Yes, the movie "Valentine's Again" has disappeared without explanation, thus far, from Hallmark's line-up. According to the recently released schedule, it seems it was pulled.

And, now... to confirm it further, they are only saying 5 New Original Movies for the "Countdown to Valentine's Day" event, instead of the 6 they originally announced via press release, on the night of the TCA event (January 14th).

Since the main movie page is still up on the Hallmark Channel site,
I've been wondering if it might have a later air date. Maybe? Maybe not? And, if they did decide to air it later, perhaps they would change the title to make it sound less like a Valentine's day movie, and more like a simple, sweet love story, that would be appropriate for any time of the year. Just a thought!

If I hear any more, I will be sure to let you know!

  2. I was looking at the schedule and noticed that "Valentine's Again" was missing. Maybe the movie's Valentine theme was removed, allowing the movie to premiere on a different line-up?

Well, I had been looking forward to "Valentine's Again" because of the fact that it was filmed in Bulgaria and I wanted to see the scenery and that sort of thing.

I am going to guess that Valentine's Again got held up in post-production -- they ran into some sort of a snag, most likely -- and that's why it has been removed from the schedule for now.

Nicky Whelan (the star of the movie) was at the TCA event, so clearly, as recently as just a week or two ago, Hallmark still planned on airing this movie -- but some sort of problem must have come up in the meantime.

However, knowing Hallmark, it is entirely possible that Valentine's Again could be put back on the schedule after Valentine's Day. It IS a Valentine movie, and it has already been filmed, so it's not like they can remove the theme and change it to a new theme before filming, as they have done with other movies. And I doubt they'd wait until 2018 to premiere it. So it may still pop up, but they just can't narrow down a date.

So now, the one I am looking forward to is "Love Blossoms." That must be the mysterious "7th" Valentine movie that Hallmark referred to in the previous press release about the Countdown to Valentine's Day.

The reason I am looking forward to Love Blossoms is that it was filmed in Belgium. This is what I was telling you about before, Net. I mentioned to you that Ioana and I had been followed Victor Webster's photos from Belgium during the holiday season. We saw that he was with Shantel VanSanten and other people. We saw that Shantel was filming something. However, Victor did not indicate that he was filming. In fact, he made it seem like he was there on a pleasure trip.

Shantel had never done anything for Hallmark, so Ioana and I had no reason to think that whatever she was filming (in Belgium) was a Hallmark movie since Victor's presence there could have been for pleasure/personal reasons. His pictures of Belgium were gorgeous, too!

Now, of course, I see that they were sneakily filming "Love Blossoms"! As soon as Victor, Shantel and one of the other people who had been with them in Belgium showed up at the TCA event, I knew something was brewing from that Belgium trip!

Anyway, again, the photos that Victor and Shantel took in Belgium in late November/early December were stunning. I think they even ventured into France as well. Gorgeous views, incredible architecture, etc.

So, even though "Love Blossoms" is probably not supposed to be set in Belgium, I look forward to it because of that fantastic scenery and all of those wonderful buildings.

And a bonus is that I think "Love Blossoms" was directed by the same person who directed "A Very Merry Mix-Up"!

  6. Thank you for sharing the Hallmark Channel Valentine schedule, Net! I visit your site regularly at Christmastime as I can't wait for the two whole months of Christmas movies.

January is always a let down no matter how I brace myself for it and Winterfest was nice, but nothing compares to Christmas.

However, I am most happy now to see the nightly movies are back leading up to Valentine's day, even if it's only one movie some nights.

My hope is Hallmark will see a difference in their ratings during these nightly movies and bring back the weeknight movies. At least, just one movie every night!

Anyway, thanks again for keeping me in the loop and in the know as to when all the Hallmark movies are on TV. I love what you do here!

    1. Sherry In CaliforniaMonday, January 23, 2017

There are. Six showtimes for "Walking the Dog" in a 3-week, limited (not all day/all night) schedule is a bit much. If the schedule were all day/all night for the entire 3 weeks, I'd be more forgiving.

I am all for the multiple repeats during the Countdown to Christmas -- because that is a lengthy, massive, 'round-the-clock event and I think those repeats are quite necessary. So I never complain about them, as they have come in handy for me on numerous occasions.

But 6 showtimes for one movie in a limited schedule event is perplexing...

...Especially when I see that "Love On the Air" -- one of the best movies Hallmark has done in the last few years -- is nowhere to be found?? What sense does that make? Shouldn't it get at least one showtime before Valentine's Day? Very weird.

    2. Interesting observation, Anonymous. I decided to list all the movies being played and count up how many times each movie is airing during the "Countdown to Valentine's Day" event. Here is what discovered...

      Movie / Times Airing:

      I Do, I Do, I Do - 1
      Date with Love - 1
The Sweeter Side of Life - 1
All of My Heart - 2
      The Birthday Wish - 3
      Love Locks - 7
      Lucky in Love - 1
      Perfect Match - 1
      Valentine Ever After – 3
      Anything for Love - 1
      All Things Valentine - 3
      Love on Ice- 1
      A Royal Winter - 2
      My Best Friend's Wedding - 1
      A Taste of Romance - 1
      My Boyfriend's Dogs - 1
      Walking the Dog - 6
Love on the Sidelines - 1
      Unleashing Mr. Darcy - 1
      The Wedding March - 1
      Appetite for Love - 1
      A Dash of Love - 3
      Love's Complicated - 1
While You Were Dating - 2
Love at First Glance - 1

If you like the new Hallmark Hall of Fame movie, "Love Locks," then you're in luck, as it's airing 7 times within the Valentine Countdown. "Walking the Dog" is the next closest movie, as it will air 6 times!

There are a few repeats, to be sure, and I would have liked to have seen a few more airings from last years new Valentine movies. "All Things Valentine" and "Valentine Ever After" will have three showings, each; while "Anything for Love" and "Appetite for Love" will be shown only once. And, "Dater's Handbook," unfortunately, not at all!

Hopefully, we will end up loving many of these new movies, too! :)

      Delete
  10. Sherry In CaliforniaMonday, January 23, 2017

Net -- I didn't even realize that Dater's Handbook was not on the list, as I was so annoyed and surprised that Love On the Air is not on it!!!

Why is Dater's Handbook not there either (I know that you don't know, so it is more of a rhetorical question! lol)?? That is so strange. It should be included.

Also not part of the Countdown to Valentine's Day (though it is scheduled to air in February) is Erin Krakow's Valentine movie from a few years ago, "Chance at Romance."

This is a very odd Valentine schedule, with some very curious omissions. All I can say is that I'm glad they're not showing any of the Fall Harvest movies during the event, as they did last year. They showed the 2015 Fall Harvest movies all throughout 2016, and it really let some of the air out of the balloon for me. I'd rather see Fall Harvest movies closer to Fall, unless they have a special "Fall into Spring" weekend or something, when they run all of the Fall movies on one Spring weekend (much like Christmas in July is a limited burst of Christmas in the summer).

Love on the Air has been moved to HMM. Premiers Saturday February 11th @ 9pm. And who is gonna watch that when they have a new movie on HM at the same time?!!

Love On the Air makes no sense on HMM other than for the fact that Alison Sweeney is in it and all of her projects seem to be landing on HMM.

I saw the February 11th showtime on the Hallmark site a few days ago (I check the site every day), but I thought it was one of Hallmark's scheduling glitches that will be ironed out in a couple of weeks. Sometimes that happens on their site, where they show 2 movies on at the same time, same date, on the main channel. I have seen that happen in the past, and then it eventually got worked out and changed.

      and...

Heart Felt in 2016 - starring Emmanuelle Vaugier (A Nanny for Christmas, Love in Paradise), Matthew MacCaull (Hailey Dean Mystery: Murder, with Love), and Christopher Russell (Merry Matrimony).

  16. Of the new Valentine Movies the plot of Love At First Glance sounds the most intriguing to me.

Walking The Dog also has great possibilities - hostility in the courtroom but I hope it isn't too "mushy" which can sometimes happen when animals are involved.

I'm looking forward to seeing Sam Page again for I really liked him in All Things Valentine.

They can show Valentine Ever After as many times as they want! - it was one of my top 5 Movies of last year.

    3. Thank you so much, Barbara! I, too, liked Autumn Reeser in "Valentine Ever After"... she seems to fit into those country settings well, as I also adore her "A Country Wedding!" But then again, I also love her in "Love at the Thanksgiving Day Parade" and that is definitely in the city... so I guess I simply think Autumn's great in just about any movie Hallmark puts her in!

Love that you & your cousins call "Valentine Ever After" the Dude Ranch Movie! That's perfect! Maybe Hallmark will use that one day for another movie!

So great to hear from You - Hope you end up enjoying some of the new Valentine movies, too!!! :)

    4. Net, have you heard anything about the background behind the lack of an Autumn Reeser HM movie this year? She's one of my favorite HM actresses, and I'm a bit bummed that we won't see her in a HM movie this year. Her movies are almost always my favorites each year.

    5. Awe, that is so sweet! Autumn Reeser is such a terrific, wonderful actress - I, too, believe she is a Hallmark fan favorite! I know she's one of mine!

If you check her IMDB page, then you will see Autumn has been pretty busy lately with other acting projects. And, I know she is also busy being a Mommy, too, with 2 young boys. I'm sure when the time is right Hallmark will work with Autumn again. Personally, I think it would be wonderful to see her in a Hallmark Christmas movie! :)

    6. Sherry In CaliforniaMonday, January 30, 2017

I have mentioned this "Autumn mystery" a few times on this site, under different comments, because it is very intriguing to me as well.

Autumn starred in 5 movies for Hallmark over the course of a few years -- which is quite a big deal, as it kind of put her right up there in the ranks with the other favorite leading ladies such as Danica, Candace, Rachel and Lacey -- and it seemed like she was a solid member of the Hallmark family. In my opinion, she fit right in to their family -- and I think Autumn is quite adept at romantic comedy, as well as being very charming and appealing.

But then... she filmed nothing for Hallmark at all in 2016, and, for now, Autumn does not appear to be in any upcoming movies for Spring Fling (although we don't yet know who will be in "Like Cats and Dogs").

So, if Autumn doesn't pop up in a previously unknown/surprise Spring Fling movie, then we still have June Weddings, Christmas Keepsake Week, Summer Nights, Fall Harvest and the Countdown to Christmas as possibilities.

The year is young. Autumn could end up in something again at some point before 2017 is over.

The most curious pieces to this puzzle have been:

      1. She has not filmed a movie (Valentine Ever After) for Hallmark since December of 2015.

      2. Formerly a regular at the Hallmark TCA events (both Winter and Summer), Autumn was not in attendance at either the TCA event last July, or the TCA event a couple of weeks ago, on January 14th. (I think she may have been in town for at least one of those parties.)

That (the absence from the TCAs) is very telling, as it indicates that there are no real plans to make a movie in the next few months.

That doesn't mean that Autumn won't make a movie -- something could still come up for her to star in -- but if she was not at either of the last 2 TCAs, there was probably nothing concrete in the works at the time of those events.

My personal guess is that it is/was Autumn's choice to take a 'Hallmark break' for a while. I have no inside knowledge, but it's just a hunch. I don't think that Hallmark would have wanted to stop working with her, as it seemed they were quite happy with her.

Some actors just don't want to do lots and lots of Hallmark movies. They don't want to get stuck in that mold. They want to branch out and do other things for a while. Some of the actors might have a contract of sorts (for X number of movies), which they fulfill and then move on (something I suspect Jonathan Scarfe may have done as well).

So, it could just be that Autumn wanted to work on some other types of projects for the immediate future (as Net mentioned above, Autumn has been doing other things) and focus on being a mom. Perhaps she wanted to take a Hallmark break for a bit so that it wouldn't become stale for her.

I do hope that, at some point down the road, we will get to see an Autumn Reeser-Paul Greene movie, as I have a feeling they would be good together!

      Delete
    7. Evey movie she had done has been wonderful.
My favorite two is Love at the Thanksgiving Day Parade and Valentine Ever After really loved her characters in those. I do know she is working on E! new scripted series but hope she comes back to Hallmark very soon. Since Valentine's is a no!! still have my fingers crossed that she might just be in a upcoming movie Hallmark hasn't announced yet!!!

Love Locks, Love At First Glance, Walking the Dog, Valentine's Again, & A Dash of Love are part of countdown to Valentine's Day. While You Were Dating isn't in part of countdown to Valentine's Day but it's Valentine's Again. Why did they change from Valentine's Again to While You Were Dating release date on 2/12/2017 of part of Valentine's Day. So, 1 of the Valentine's Day movies will premiere after Valentine's Day.

    1. The Hallmark Channel has switched around their "Countdown to Valentine's Day" schedule a bit this year. "Valentine's Again" was previously scheduled, but was pulled from the list. It is also seen in the Video promos for the "Countdown to Valentine's Day," but as of now, it is not scheduled to air.

"While You Were Dating" was always scheduled to air during the countdown, but they changed it's premiere date. I think they changed this because they needed to fill the weekend time slot, when "Valentine's Again" was removed. Will we see "Valentine's Again" eventually? Only time will tell. It is, as you mentioned, still listed on Hallmark's web-site.

That video has been up for at least a couple of weeks. They just didn't include a clip from While You Were Dating in the video, but that doesn't mean that it was excluded from the Countdown to Valentine's Day. It was always part of the event.

Hallmark also put out a press release right after the TCA event on January 14th, which mentioned While You Were Dating as part of the CTVD. That same press release mentioned that there would be SEVEN new Valentine movies during the event, but only listed SIX movies.

And the video shows 5 movies! Lol

The mysterious 7th movie, "Love Blossoms," has now surfaced... but it is airing after Valentine's Day (though it has a Valentine element to it).

Valentine's Again probably got held up in post-production. They probably hit a snag in editing or ADR or something. Clearly, just 10 days ago Hallmark still planned to include Valentine's Again in the Countdown to Valentine's Day, as the lead actress from the movie was at TCA, and the movie was mentioned in the press release for it.

So there must have been some sort of unexpected problem that is delaying the movie's premiere.

But While You Were Dating (formerly known as Second Time Around) was always going to be part of the Valentine event.

  19. Thanks again for the update on "valentine's again" ;) I just looked up "Love Blossoms" because it sounded nice also due to the locale being filmed in Belgium. I saw that actress Bobbie Phillips is listed on this movie! My absolute favorite tv show was "Murder One"! I knew her name was familiar! She was Stanley Tucci's wife in the series and was amazing! Now I want to see this one more than ever!

Shantel VonSanten as Voliet Chappell's father owns Perfume Company with Violet's Distributors & Victor Webster as Decker "Dec" Granger is a notorious copycat Perfume King. Violet's long time rival: Dec who owns his Perfume Company. Their perfume delivers in time for Valentine's Day according to IMDB!

  22. Net I think I asked this question under another post but couldn't remember where. Or a chance I was in the process then had to do something and forgot all about it! So if you already answered this question sorry for asking again.
Will Ion be doing another Valentine's movie this year. Really enjoyed Heartfelt.

    1. I'm happy to answer your question, Tabitha. I only wish I could give you a better answer. I have contacted ION regarding a new Valentine's movie this year, and they informed me there will not be one. :( I know - bummer.

In case your interested - I also mentioned the ION movies in a comment above and linked the recent ION Valentine movies, including Heart Felt!

Have a Blessed day, Tabitha, and thanks so much for commenting! :)

I really enjoyed Heartfelt.I decided not to watch Meet My Valentine after reading plot just seemed like it would be a sad movie. I tear up on happy movies so if I can avoid a sob fest then I will.
Thanks so much for all you do
You have a blessed day also Net!!

    3. Oh, thank you, Tabitha! My Joy!

It is unfortunate ION won't be doing a Valentine movie this year. You are so right about "Meet My Valentine." I enjoyed it, except for the really sad parts. I prefer more of an uplifting happy story, too, and it was, in the end, a very sad movie. Scott Wolf (from Party of Five), however, was truly amazing in it.

Anyway, Thank You, again, for the sweet comment, Tabitha! I hope you thoroughly enjoy all the Happy Hallmark Valentine Movies ahead!!! :)

That is such a fun romantic comedy with Erika Christensen (My Boyfriends' Dogs), Paul Greene (Perfect Match), and Antonio Cupo & Ali Liebert (Love at the Thanksgiving Day Parade)! All terrific Hallmark actors!

    1. Yes! Hallmark Movies & Mysteries will have Love-Themed Movies, too, throughout the month of February!

Hallmark Movies & Mysteries (HMM) is such a wonderful channel - since they have movies typically every weekday from 1pm-11pm!

Highlights from February on HMM include the premiere of "An Uncommon Grace" on February 12th and "Signed, Sealed, Delivered: Higher Ground" on February 19th following a Marathon of Signed, Sealed, Delivered Movies (my favorite!)!!!

There is also the premiere of "Love on the Air" on HMM! Originally this movie, starring Alison Sweeney premiered on the Hallmark Channel! Plus, what would the month of February be without a "Love Comes Softly" marathon!?!?! One of the very first treasured Hallmark movie series!!!

Indeed, it will be a month filled with LOVE & Romance... on both the Hallmark Channel and Hallmark Movies & Mysteries!!!

Blessings & Love to All, Net :)

    5. I have never seen this movie "Uncorked", before AT&T removed Hallmark Channel & Hallmark Movies Channel last 2010 due carriage dispute but they're both back in 2015. I haven't seen those movies from 2010 to 2015. I watched the movie called; "Cookie Cutter Chistmas when I noticed new channel: from Hallmark Movies Channel to Hallmark Movies & Mysteries.

It Happened One Valentine's. I just watched it. It was so good even the singing. The trailer was right about it being a good movie. Don't know why Hallmark didn't snag this up. Thought maybe the singing but they had people singing on movies.

  29. So very happy with the Valentine movies!!!!All of them have been so good!!!

Sorry to say this but Winterfest 2017 was not all that great to me. Especially compared to last year. Don't get me wrong I enjoyed them but it was so very easy to pick a favorite. Never felt like that before only time ever been disappointed with Hallmark is because of how they spoil us each year with even more great movies. Then take a break of no movies for a month or two. They need to realize we now need at least one Hallmark movie every weekend!!!!

Thats why I am so very happy with how great the movies have been this month and can't believe we still have more to come this month!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  30. Iotally agree.

All the Winterfest Movies were solid, enjoyable to watch Hallmarks but none of them really grabbed you.
