Movie Review:

🌟 Divine Influencer – (streamed through Great American Pure Flix)

At first, the main girl, Olivia ‘Liv’ Golden (portrayed by Actress, Lara Silva), is rather conceited and self-centered as a social media influencer, but when she loses her apartment and ends up working and living at the local homeless shelter – we begin to see the incredible influence this has on her life as she opens up to caring for others and discovers a renewed sense of faith.

Overall, the entire cast is spectacular and the production quality is excellent. It was also nice to see Jesse Metcalfe have a role in this, as well, in the supporting cast.

This inspirational, family-friendly movie is heartfelt, humorous, and uplifting! ~Net

Even though Labor Day weekend is usually considered the last hurrah of Summer, technically, Summer doesn't officially end this year until September 22nd. So... whether you're trying to soak up the rest of Summer as long as you can or you're ready to transition into Fall, September is the perfect time to do both!

Please note: I haven't pre-screened the new Hallmark movie, Head Over Heels. If you'd like to post a review on whether this film is family-friendly, please share in comments below.

Caution: The season one finale of "Blue Ridge: The Series" contains violence and intense situations that are unsuitable for young children. The series is known for the justice and redemption of its characters and moral values; however, this episode is better suited for a mature audience. In case you haven't heard, season 2 of "Blue Ridge: The Series" is coming next year! (see details here)

Recommend: I've seen Great American Family's new movie, Divine Influencer, and having thoroughly enjoyed this humorous and inspiring story, I highly recommend it. Please see my movie review above for my complete take on this film. This movie is ideal for the entire family!

Happy Labor Day Weekend!
Blessings to You All!

  1. Will be watching Divine Influencer on Great American Family. The 4 Pure Flix movies that have aired already all have been so good. I am hoping that they will air more Pure Flix movies after The Engagement Plan airs.

    1. Gigi, I hope you enjoy "Divine Influencer"! I would love to hear your thoughts on it, if you have a chance to share over Labor Day weekend.

I agree; the Pure Flix presentations have all been wonderful! I've truly enjoyed these faith-based, inspirational films.

The next four movies premiering on Great American Family have all first premiered on Pure Flix, but these films aren't faith related.

      Love's Second Act - September 14, 2024
Love at the Ranch - September 21, 2024
Mystery By the Book - September 28, 2024
The Ainsley McGregor Mysteries: A Case for the Winemaker - October 5, 2024

From what I've seen on social media, GAF has received excellent feedback on the previous Pure Flix movies they have aired on Saturday nights, so I wouldn't be surprised, at all, if they air more of these types of movies in the future.

      Have a wonderful weekend! Net

They could add more movies as such A’s Sister Dating Swap

  2. When I saw Soldier Love Story on DVDs at Walmart (Faith & Family film) a longtime ago? It’s supposed to be Hallmark movie under the movie titled Meet My Mom but no wonder they changed to Soldier Love Story.

Meet My Mom was aired on Hallmark Channel in 2010 but they changed the movie titled Soldier Love Story on UPTV

Meet My Mom was aired on Hallmark Channel when I saw Soldier Love Story DVDs at Walmart & then Soldier Love Story aired on UPTV

    Starring Lordy Loughlin

Meet My Mom was originally titled for Soldier Love Story

    1. That's right! The title of this movie has changed since it first premiered on the Hallmark Channel.

Since this movie originally aired before Mother's Day in 2010, the network gave it the title, "Meet My Mom."

When the movie came out on DVD, the title was then changed to "Soldier Love Story."

I personally think "Soldier Love Story" is a much better title, since it honors our military.

If you like, you can see images of this movie and my review from when it first premiered, here:

  3. The “ Divine Influencer” and “Head over Heels” both look really good so I’ll be recording both and watching at some point over the weekend. I hear you Net, I feel like it’s still summer over here in central CA where we are because we just can’t get out of the triple digits! Im excited to be entering September though, one step closer to fall 😊
We are doing something exciting this weekend- we are surprising our 6 year old with a puppy! Our first family pet. I had a mini Pomeranian when I was a teenager and I know how much work it is to have a pet, especially an indoor one so I’m a little nervous 😳 but she has been asking forever and I know her and our son who is 3 will love it. I wish I could post a photo on here to show you guys the puppy. So she was in love with this cute show called “Fancy Nancy” when she was 2 years old & we still watch it now and then. Nancy had a poodle so she has always liked them and that’s what we are getting her, but a toy poodle so it’s supposed to stay small 😊

    1. Paula, It's been terribly hot with high humidity here in the Midwest, too. I hear relief is coming soon, though. We sure need it! This Summer has been a scorcher. I sure hope cooler temps will be coming your way, as well.

How fun that you are getting a poodle! They are absolutely adorable! Dear friends from our church had one when I was younger, and I loved going over to their house to play with it. We've always had bigger dogs on our farm through the years, so I loved how little he was. I'm sure your children will be over-the-moon!!! Have a wonderful weekend with your new fur-baby!!! :)

And, I hope you get a chance to enjoy the new movies, too... at some point!!! :)

      Happy Labor Day!!! Blessings, Net

    2. Thank you Net! So we got the puppy on Saturday, it is so cute and tiny, looks like one of my daughters beanie babies Lol
So I suggested the name Teddy, Charlie, Ollie or Toffee for his hair color but she vetoed all my ideas and chose Curly, which matches his curly hair. We ordered a dog car seat from Amazon so I feel like I have 3 children 😂

    3. Aww, Paula... That is sooo sweet! Curly is such a cute name, but I adore your name suggestions, too! In fact, we had a kitty cat that I called my Teddy Bear because he loved to snuggle, and like your puddle, he had curly hair, especially on his tummy. They certainly do become special members of the family! I can just imagine all of the excitement and giggles from your lil' ones... Enjoy!!! :)

I also plan to rewatch/record both "Signed, Sealed Delivered" movies! Do you think they would give any hint to the next SSD movie coming in 2025??? Or, is it too soon? Hmmm? Now I have to watch and pay close attention to the commercial breaks to find out!!! :)

Have a wonderful Labor Day weekend, my friend! Net

    1. Maria, I'm so grateful you discovered this information and shared with us. I'm kind of not surprised - due to the lead actress and all.

Did you hear this information from a review on-line? Is that why you said, "supposedly"?

I'm rather bummed because I usually like Corey Sevier's movies, but again, I'm so grateful to know this. I will be skipping this one.

      Thank you! Net

    2. Yes, I heard about it in a review. -maria

    3. I watched The Heiress and the Handyman on HMN, the guy who plays Jodie Sweetin’s assistant does have mannerism of a gay man, but nothing is ever said about it. He appears twice for a total of about 3 minutes, at the beginning & end.

The movie is okay, but the story has been done. Think Harvest Moon, but this movie isn’t nearly as good. It felt cheesy somehow and Jodie’s acting felt stiff, kind of fake. It’s a one time watch for me.

    4. Allie B, Thank you for sharing this extra detail on the movie, "The Heiress and the Handyman," with us. I will be sure to post your review when I share this movie when it premieres so others are aware.

I appreciate you sharing with us! Net

    5. Heiress & Handyman was really cute. It compares well with UPTV type of movies. The "gay" assistant...nothing was ever said clarifying he was gay. The movie needed more, but was worth a watch for the pig & animal scenes alone. It feels very traditional with hints of Harvest Moon, but not as comedic unfortunately. It's not a bad watch at all & is actually fall themed. I didn't even notice the wig people seem to be obsessing over. -Megan

  13. Hi everyone! Happy Labor Day. Wow, this year has flown by. :-(

Anyway, not to be negative but "Head Over Heels" was terrible. I could not get through even half of the movie. Tired retread of "Devil Wears Prada" is what I thought as I was watching it. However, on a more positive note: I am really looking forward to seeing "Divine Influencer." So, far every single recent movie, on Great American has been so insanely good.

    2. Hi Net,

Thank you for the warm Labor Day wishes! It was so nice just chilling over the long weekend. :-)

My husband and I watched "Divine Influencer", last night and like the rest of the movies that aired over the last few weeks on GAF, it was very good. I thought it started out a bit slow but we were hooked about ten minutes in and we really enjoyed the remainder of the movie. It was sweet and made me cry and smile. Oh, the ending made my heart sing! It was so uplifting. God is good.

      Blessings to you as well!

    3. Joan, I should've warned you that the beginning was a little annoying with how snobby she acts and everything, but when everything changes, the story certainly becomes much more interesting and deep. Glad you enjoyed it! :)

  14. We watched Divine Influencer yesterday, Net, and loved it!

The lady who works with Liv at the shelter is so sweet and all of the supporting cast is great. I was surprised, though, that Jesse Metcalfe’s role was so short. Wonder why? It would’ve been nice if he could’ve been in it more.

Anyhoo, I love seeing movies like this on GAF. Christie
