Press Release via Great American Family:

NEW YORK, June 13, 2024 /PRNewswire/ -- Great American Family, an industry leader in producing quality family and faith-filled holiday films, announced fan favorites, Merritt Patterson (Jingle Bell Princess, 'Twas the Text Before Christmas) and Christopher Russell (Peppermint and Postcards, A Dash of Christmas), star in the Original holiday movie, A Vintage Christmas, part of Great American Christmas 2024.

In A Vintage Christmas, Tessa (Patterson) is a dedicated historian and preservationist in her hometown of Oak Creek, an old-fashioned and passionate protector of the nostalgic. Sparks fly when a business developer, Noah (Russell) arrives in Oak Creek with plans to tear down an abandoned Post Office and replace it with a sleek, modern office complex. There are internal and external struggles among many in the community to arrive at a solution that serves the greater good for all concerned. As the clock ticks toward Christmas, the race to settle the dispute through concessions and compromise is on.

"This Christmas season, Great American Family is once again assembling the most high-profile talent that is sure to delight viewers," said Bill Abbott, President & CEO, Great American Media. "Familiar faces like Merritt Patterson and Christopher Russell, are a big reason Great American Christmas has become so popular, so fast," Abbott concluded.

My Quick Take:

I hope you enjoyed reading this Christmas movie news as much as I enjoyed sharing it!

Do any of you remember writing letters to Santa? My siblings and I did EVERY Christmas. We would shop in catalogs and at our local mall, but then we would always come home and make our list, using red and green crayons, colored pencils, or markers (depending on our age at the time). Those are sweet memories I will always cherish, and I believe these nostalgic feelings will make this movie extra special.

    1. Jim, I was literally typing the exact same thing! I feel like I see him too much & I feel like his acting just doesn’t really have any depth, like he always plays the same kind of character….but I will for sure watch for Merritt. This kind of reminds me of that one with Jessica Lowndes and Chad Michael Murray where she was a librarian trying to save some building, I forgot the title but it was on GAF.

    3. Lizzy - You could say that about many Hallmark's and Hallmark-style movies' actors. They do that on purpose.

  5. The movie sounds great holiday fun. I was a docent at a late 18th century historic building so this story and Merrit’s character will be a joy to watch. Add in Christopher Russell and it appears to be a special Christmas movie.

He's also in one Hallmark is premiering on Hallmark Movies Now as of July 1 that they'll likely add into the fray in December as part of weekly holiday programming like they do with their typical Christmas in July movies. -Jenna

  8. A Vintage Christmas sounds great! I gotta say, I almost didn’t recognize Merritt in the post office picture with her hair darker. She looks like she did in her first Hallmark movie, A Royal Winter.
