HALLMARK CHANNEL

A Whitewater Romance

Movie Review:
π A Whitewater Romance is a fun, clean movie! -Maria
π A White Water Romance – This movie was sooo funny! Even just thinking about certain scenes still makes me laugh.
I previously adored Cindy Busby and Benjamin Hollingsworth in the more dramatic Christmas movie, "A Godwink Christmas: Meant for Love" (which is my favorite of the series), and I thought they were also sweet together in this!
Most Hallmark rom-com movies these days are geared for an older demographic, but this is one I think even younger viewers would enjoy due to the outdoor activities and comedy.
"A White Water Romance" is very family-friendly and wholesome; it may inspire viewers to try new things and go on an adventure! ~Net
Everything Puppies
Starring: Pascal Lamothe-Kipnes, Stephen Huszar, and Kathryn Davis
Premieres: May 18, 2024
Storyline: A dedicated entrepreneur and inventor looking to make it big creating innovative dog toys and treats finds success with the support of a handsome client.
Movie Review:
πΆ Everything Puppies is family friendly about a dedicated entrepreneur & inventor named Scarlet Townsend works at Pup Palate Premium Treats Nutrition for Palate Healthy Treats who is looking to make it big creating innovative dog toys and treats finds success with the support of a handsome client named Alex Paulsen works at Happy Harvest on 10th Avenue Store. Alex & Scarett are attending to Paws & Wellness Emporium. Bernese Mountain Dog smells chew dog treats goes all the way down the hall at the meeting
Scarlett (Lamothe-Kipnes) is a hardworking entrepreneur and inventor looking to make it big with innovative dog toys and treats. Her latest puppy treat recipe is already all the rage with the dogs on her block, she just needs a distributor to bring her product to the masses. But she can’t land it on the shelves of any local grocers until she meets Alex (Huszar), who runs Happy Harvest and is so impressed by her product that he puts in an order and quickly sells out. As he and Scarlett work together to keep the supply of puppy treats coming, a competitor gets a whiff of her product and does everything he can to shut her down. ~Anonymous
πΆ Everything Puppies – This movie is mostly wholesome, cute, and lighthearted, but it’s also rather cheesy. The puppies in the movie are extremely adorable.
It didn't make sense that this was a Countdown to Summer movie; it looked more like Fall.
My only caution is - at the end (SPOILER) they made it clear that the lead couple is engaged and they are going away for the weekend camping. Just before the credits roll, we see them kissing around a campfire with their dogs in one small tent together and one tent for them in the background. With or without the end, it was already a one-time watch for me. ~Net
HALLMARK MYSTERY
Premieres at 9 p.m. ET/PT.
Family Practice Mysteries: Coming Home
Starring: Amanda Schull and Brendan Penny
Premieres: May 17, 2024
Storyline: A former Army surgeon moves back to her hometown and joins a practice of family doctors, but when she's drawn into solving the mysterious death of a patient, her quiet life becomes upended.
Movie Reviews:
ππ Family Practice Mysteries: Coming Home Review.... A very good mystery. I can see this being a great series. Her relationship with her teenage children (who are very respectful) is great like Garage Sale Mysteries and has the same with her widowed father(similar to Mystery 101). It was family-friendly and it was another one of those kinds when the detective shares information!! His only fault is that he's a cat person...haha ;) I laughed when Rachel said Einstein had a dog.ππ
There was a scene when her work friend is doing yoga meditation. I was glad they didn't really go into it and in the end(killer reveal scene) there is a mention of the "D" word. Which was unfortunate, normally there is no language. Overall, I am glad I watched it and hope to see more! ~Abigail
ππ "Family Practice Mysteries: Coming Home" - I saw this movie on streaming service. It's family friendly. Acting was good. Story is a little hard to follow. No real dynamics, but over all was a good mystery. ~Joyce in Carolina
ππ The Family Practice mysteries is streaming early on Hallmark Now. The movie was family-friendly, but I'll admit I was surprised that two swear words were included towards the end of the movie. Other than that it was surprisingly good. ~Laura
ππ Review: Family Practice Mysteries: Coming Home (watched on Hallmark Now) -
Family-friendly? Yes (and I didn't catch any language problems at the end, and I double-checked with subtitles) -
Recommended? Worth a one-time watch -
I mentioned during the Christmas season how so many recent movies seem to be putting the relationship between the main couple on the side and emphasizing something else (like family relations). Here, the murder mystery is front and center, with the relationship a distant second (or maybe even third, since the kids' struggles are also emphasized). Anyway, this is an enjoyable mystery (although pretty easy to solve) with a few sub-plots and great acting by Amanda and Brendan. I can see where they would be considering this for a series. For me, this is worth a one-time watch - it's not great, but not bad. ~Mark 25
Once again, it appears that Cindy Busby is Chasing Waterfalls in her new May movie premiere, A Whitewater Romance. Cindy has starred in several previous movies that center around the great outdoors, Love in Zion National: A National Park Romance, Marry Me in Yosemite, Warming up to You (included an outdoor health retreat camp), and, of course, the aforementioned movie, Chasing Waterfalls. I think Cindy Busby and Ben Hollingsworth look like a good pairing in this new outdoor movie!
The puppy movie looks cute enough. I mean, who doesn't love adorable puppy dogs on TV? The title, Everything Puppies, I must admit, is a little cheesy, but it still might be sweet. At least it looks like it should be a lighthearted, family-friendly movie.
Also, another all-new mystery is coming in May. While I'm generally not excited about another new mystery when others have been left undone, since this one will star two actors who are well-liked in the Hallmark family, Amanda Schull, and Brendan Penny, I'm rather looking forward to hearing more about it!
I would love to hear your opinions, too! Please share your thoughts in comments below.
Happy movie watching,
Net
I find this a bit disturbing.
ReplyDeleteOnly two new movies on the main Channel.
When they announced their March programme there were only two new movies on Hallmark and I was convinced there would be a couple of additions but of course there weren't.
Wonder just what is going on? - Florence
Maybe they're FINALLY cutting back on new movies? They make way too many throughout the year, and now most of them aren't even worth a 2nd watch because of how bad they are. -Maria
DeleteSorry if that last comment seems harsh, but it's the truth. They make soooo many movies throughout the year, and thanks to their stupid 'new direction' a lot of them now are either 'good enough for a 1 time watch', or 'not worth watching at all'.
DeleteIf they can't make actual great movies that are worth a 2nd rewatch time and time again, then they are best just cutting back. And it's something they really need to consider doing at Christmas to keep so many people from getting 'new movie burnout' before Thanksgiving!! -Maria
Well it's all a matter of personal opinion as to how good any particular movie is - Florence
DeleteI do recall reading something about the writers strike having to do with the Hallmark movies. My opinion about the recent down turn on the quality of movies, storylines and frequency is that it just could be the fault of the writers strike. I guess we will see if Hallmark doesn’t step it up a notch
DeleteI am also concerned. I just accepted it this month, assuming it was down to the waste of money they call "Rebranding" To me, such a waste of money, better spent on keeping old stars or bringing in quality new stars to nurture and make them secure, happy and what ever you did to the lot that turned away to a channel that hardly anyone has heard of and even less can actually get. Unless it was he who shall not be named, that did the nurturing?
DeleteHallmark, I love ya. You are the absolute top, if not, only decent provider of Cozy Mysteries. Why have nearly all of them stopped? Even ones with stars still in the Hallmark camp? All of these new ones are throwing us through a loop, trying to remember who is who, where, when and Why? It is a whole lot of new character evolution and development we have to try to learn. Please, start making a few movies in a series for new releases. So we can get to know them in Bunches. But your mystery movies are the best. Thanks for bringing signed sealed delivered back again. Now, how about kicking Good Witch back, even a movie a year or series. I know you are undergoing an image update, and that it good. But are you going too far the other way and losing a lot of regular, long term fans? Yes, absolutely, be inclusive. No arguments from me. I just wonder if you are now not being inclusive with the fans you had? You do not have to make everyone, gay, black and disabled. I would say coloured, because I am totally accepting of everyone, regardless of skin colour, religion, income, sexualities or abilities. I just see people. But apparently now, our fellow humans of colour, who has rightfully fought to be equal, are now Black this, black that, black actors month. Great. Celebrate yourselves. Your culture. Your history. Wether you have moved to America this year, or 10th generation American. But it is all getting confusing now. I have not seen any white actor celebrating or white directors month. I think there would be uproar if there was? So, do you want to be equal? Or do you only want to celebrate with people that share your colour? I just think equal should be equal. Not some colours or religions are more equal than others? I love a colourful and varied world. A world where we can sit and discuss our differences. To share our different religions and discuss the merits of them. To discuss cultures and celebrate together. Christmas. Hanukkah. Celebration of light. Heck, hold hands and sing comb by a. I am ignorant. I live in a small place with limited variety, so I haven't had a chance to sit and discuss. Learn from others of their thoughts and beliefs. Quite a protective bubble if you like. So I honestly do not want to cause any offence to anybody. I genuinely ask forgiveness if I have. As stated, I am fairly ignorant to the world and much of the history. Or, I have learned, but since forgotten due to illness and age. I have trouble remembering. But don't you think it could be a beautiful world if we all worked together to improve it? I know that so many disgraceful things happened in the past. Native American and Aboriginals, well, sadly so much rich and beautiful history lost. I personally think their way of life was better than those that invaded. We can never get those stories back, or learn from their accomplishments and achievements. All we can do now, is try to just get along to build a better place. Harmony. I think TV is a great place to start. Equally. Non judgemental. Understanding. So no more ebony and ivory or Christian and Jewish. Just people. An honest representation of the world.
IAM not black, not white, or yellow, red or brown. For I am love. Love is blind. I see not your appearance or my own. For I am mystery. What you see, is not always truth, there is magic. magic is there.. and the justice is also blind. Close your eyes. Feel. Believe. Love. Accept. Respect.
Only movie that looks good is the 1st one.
ReplyDeleteAnd happy birthday, Net! -Maria
Maria, Thank you so much for the birthday wish! I am so grateful for you and all that you share with us!
DeleteBlessings, Net
you're very welcome. -Maria
DeleteThese all look promising.
ReplyDeleteYeah, Cindy is there go-to outdoor girl. Interesting to see Ben again so quickly. Some good options here, potentially.
ReplyDeleteNet, I thought the exact same thing about Cindy! Does she have it in her contact that she will only do outdoor movies? Lol I mean I like her as an actress but I’ll pass in this one, I feel like she’s did it so many times. I would love to see her in a romantic comedy in another setting.
ReplyDeleteThe puppy one looks cute and pascal was great in Never Been Chris’d. She was funny without even trying, so I am looking forward to seeing her again.
The mystery one I will for sure watch, I love Brendan Penny.
~Paula
What May Movies are you looking forward seeing?
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday Net! I don’t know if you are aware that Merit Street Network (Dr. Phil’s network with some affiliation or support from TBN) premiered on April 2nd. It appears as if they will be airing romcoms on Saturday and Sunday nights. They look like GFAM movies, but I don’t know for sure if they all are.
ReplyDeleteThank you for the birthday message. :)
DeleteYes, I have heard of Merit Street Network; I've seen Dr. Phil promoting it on TBN, but I hadn't checked out their scheduling, yet.
I'm so glad you shared the tip - that this new network is airing GFAM movies on Saturdays and Sundays; that is VERY interesting news! I looked ahead some in their schedule, and they are airing the new movie, "Just in Time," on April 13th! I know many who missed the original airings, will be happy to hear this encore news!
Thank you so much for sharing!
Blessings, Net
You are welcome! I saw where you wrote about it in your weekend post. I am glad I could help.
DeleteOkay I wanted to add to my comment, Warming Up To You was my favorite of the Cindy bunch. The fake stomach was hilarious, like I couldn’t focus much on the storyline with the stomach in my face. Dolores Drake was so enjoyable and funny to watch as well.
ReplyDelete~Paula
Cindy and Ben are my favorite Hallmark actors so i will definitely be watching A Whitewater Romance but i still think it's too soon since his last movie. Maybe i will give Everything Puppies a chance. I am 100% not interested in that mystery movie
ReplyDeleteI agree with Anonymous. Everything Puppies is one that I will definitely watch. Those puppies in the picture look like Golden Retriever puppies. I rescued three myself 6 mo., 2 yrs. & 11 yrs., but not at the same time. Lovable, goofy dogs, and precious, and knew no stranger. I called them "living carpets" and our house the Fur Factory. :)
DeleteAnother NEW mystery series... SHOCKER! haha;)
ReplyDeleteI'll give it a try. Hope it's good since the plot sounds decent and I do love those actors.
I love Brendan Penny! So excited to see him in a new Hallmark movie!
ReplyDeleteIs there any way Hallmark would return
Chesapeake Shores to On Demand?
I fell in love with Brendan Penny while watching it but didn't get to see all the episodes before it was removed.
Especially now that Treat Williams, sadly, died so tragically.
Can you please upload the A Whitewater Romance movie poster on here that is out? Others have posted it but your posters look the best
