I hope you all have a great weekend! Looks like we have some excellent movie choices for both Saturday and Sunday. I'm planning to watch some and record the others. We'll see how it goes, but all the movies look appealing to me. Plus, I'm hoping the ending of "Chesapeake Shores" is satisfactory for all the Chessies who have followed the series since the beginning. In my opinion, there has been some ups and downs throughout the seasons, but the main thing I've always enjoyed the most has been the tight-knit O'Brien family.
If you'd like to share your thoughts on the new movies, "Chesapeake Shores," or anything else... please leave a response in comments below.
Disclaimer: Please know when I share a movie, this is NOT an endorsement of any of the actors involved, personally or professionally, with their other TV/film projects.
Please note: I have not pre-screened the new movies airing this weekend. If you'd like to post a review on whether a film is family-friendly, please share in comments.
Happy Fall and Blessings to You All, Net
SHINING HIS LIGHT:
I’m looking forward to “Perfect Harmony” with James Denton. I hope it’s family friendly. I will be very sad if it’s not.
ReplyDeleteI loved “Perfect Harmony.” I had to keep myself from full on sobbing at the end.
DeleteFound a production notice tonight from Veil Road Productions: There will be 2 more Wedding Veil movies. Yeah, I'm serious. And I have no idea what to feel about it.
ReplyDeleteThe trilogy wrapped up very well, and I was nervous enough about the whole thing being clean. What if these 2 new movies destroy that streak? Hallmark's already wrecked enough of itself this year, I don't want to see it's best 3 watchable movies trilogy of this year be wrecked too! -Maria
Maria, Yeah, I saw that, too, and the same thought crossed my mind about them adding something extra to these new Veil movies. I enjoyed the original trilogy, minus a little in the 3rd one, which led one to believe that she used to live with her boyfriend.
DeleteBesides that, I really liked the three movies and found them to be charming. Not sure they can keep that same charm if they keep adding to it.
Three seemed like a good number to me; I mean, how can this veil keep working it's magic? Every single girl wanting to get married is going to want a piece of it. Maybe... that's how it will eventually end - a greedy mob of single females will rip it into pieces. haha!
Anyway, it's hard to say where these new stories will go. I keep watching for Hallmark to make an official statement about them.
3 wedding movies in 1 book - there’s 2 movies 1 is currently filming & 2 is currently in production after that movie
DeleteWedding Veil 4
Schedule: 10/13/2022 - 10/28/2022
WEDDING VEIL WISHES 5
Schedule: 10/24/2022 - 11/22/2022
Wedding Veil 4 is based on the book; Wedding Veil Wishes 2: Second Chance Hero & including Wedding Veil 5 by Lori Wilde
3 Wedding Veil movies are based on the book; There’s Goes the Bride by Lori Wilde
Didn’t take long for Autumn in the City to go off the rails. Hallmark did it again. Has a Guy and his Husband running a coffee shop.
DeleteAutumn in the City was going slow for me but then Hallmark just HAD to add a gay couple...SO TIRED OF THIS...not many movies on Hallmark these days i care to watch
DeleteThe Wedding Veil 6
DeleteCould a second trilogy be in place and a sixth movie be far behind?
What movies are you looking forward seeing this weekend?
ReplyDeleteChris, My #1 movie pick for the weekend is My Boss’ Wedding!
DeleteAre you planning to watch one or more???
I've never had a interest in Chesapeake Shores, but (looking at the photo of the wedding) It's always a joy to see divorced couples getting remarried.
ReplyDeleteAlso loved what you did there Net! ( Leave-ing ;)
Abigail, Oh, thanks! Thought I would have a little fun with it. It's hard to believe Fall Movies end this weekend. Hope you can catch one of them. :)
DeleteI agree. The list if movies seem good. I like how UPtv has a prequel movie of a Christmas one.
ReplyDeleteMisty
Misty, Yes, that is fun we get to see the 1st part to the Christmas movie this weekend. "Love in Wolf Creek" looks like an intriguing action-adventure.
Deletelooks like a wonderful weekend for watching!
ReplyDelete"Autumn in the City" -- I'm not watching live, but I got curious, checked social media, and found multiple people mentioning homosexual content.
ReplyDelete~Alicia
Autumn I’m the city. FYI: 15 minutes in she meets a man serving pumpkin bread on the side walk. She ask him if he made it and he said no, but my husband did. They own the coffee shop.
ReplyDeleteI figured it looked dirty just from looking at the title. Cities in big blue states unfortunately, tend to be more liberal based now and well, have more unclean content. -Maria
DeleteAutumn in the City not family friendly.
ReplyDeleteAutumn in the City is not family friendly. Piper Grant moves into Abbie’s friend named Amelia’s apartment # 503 when an aspiring writer named Austin Edwards who crosses the hall apartment # 502. Piper is bouncing in between temporary jobs. Piper meet Will who serves pumpkin bread for sample when she ate it. Will’s Husband named Toby who owns Keystone Cafe. Toby gets Piper a pumpkin spice latte. Both Piper & Austin come across same path. Will & Toby encourage Piper & Austin to have picnic together unless delivery guy on the bicycle hands Piper & Austin a blanket & picnic basket. CS finale: That was, so sweet!! Everyone is happy at the end and together, and it was just a large abundence of fluff and family! -Maria
ReplyDeleteLove in Wolf Creek is a little intense, but still so good! -Maria
ReplyDeleteThank you Maria! I didn't watch anything this weekend because we went up to the farm, but now I can watch Wolf Creek since I know it is safe.
DeleteThank you to the Anonymous commenter who spotted my error in the above post. I appreciate you letting me know, and I was able to correct it over the weekend. Bless you!
ReplyDeleteThe Chesapeake Shores series finale was the most beautiful show of the entire series. Very well done.
ReplyDeleteI did, however, miss the grandmother, Nell, Mick's brother, Thomas, and Abby's daughters, Carrie and Caitlyn, in the finale, but even still, it was wonderful to see in the end - the O'Brien family all gathered together around the fire-pit again, like how the series began.
I don't want to give anything away for anyone who hasn't seen it, yet, but I'll just say... it was a perfect, heartwarming send-off for the series.
So, do you recommend this season to watch? Any content we should be aware of? Was Nell in this season at all?
DeleteI left a great review of the Cs finale, along with a review of Love in Wolf Creek, did any of them go in? -Maria
DeleteMaria, I just submitted more comments and both of your reviews for CS and Love in Wolf Creek were included. Thank you, honey! Your reviews are always appreciated.
DeleteAnonymous - who asked above if I would recommend this season of CS to watch...
DeleteChesapeake Shores was family-friendly 99% of the time, but there were a few moments here and there. Mostly, things were implied, but not shown.
You may want to read the comments under my CS post here:
https://itsawonderfulmovie.blogspot.com/2022/08/chesapeake-shores-season-6-episodes-hallmark-channel-tv-series.html
(Especially my review of episode 3)
Also, in episode 9 a female mentions looking for a girlfriend, but nothing else is shown.
There was also some violence in one episode, either episode 8 or 9... when a man attempts to rob a store with a gun - and there is a struggle for the gun. A man is shot, but we only hear the gunshot.
Also, you asked about the grandmother, Nell. She was mentioned throughout the season, but no, we never actually saw her. I thought they could've done something via their phones or something, but unfortunately, they did not.
Hope this is helpful to you in deciding whether or not you will watch this season. The ending was certainly heartwarming and family-friendly.
Perfect Harmony is family friendly. Jack Chandler is Pop Singer & Barrett Woodward is a Poetry Professor must put aside their differences when their best friends named Naomi & Simon decide to get married. Jack & Barrett are working together as Best Man & Maid of Honor soon lead then to the duet of a lifetime. Jack & Barrett duet some songs: Total Eclipse of the Heart & Perfect Harmony. Barrett gets an old lyrics book out of Teddy’s Mom’s old desk. College Professor Barrett tells her student; Teddy Don’t forget to study poem. Jack & Barrett sing a duet “Perfect Harmony”, at their best friends’ Wedding Day.
ReplyDeleteWonderful to hear! Thank you for sharing with us.
DeleteI posted your review here:

I have watched CS from the pilot to the finale, never missing an episode. Even without Jesse Metcalfe, I continued to watch, and to my surprise, still enjoyed it. I am sorry to see it end, but I'm afraid if it didn't, it most definitely would have gone the woke route. I think it was testing the waters with Abby's younger daughter, and thankfully, thought better of it, but of course it had to be snuck in about the actress' interest in the O'Brien sisters. I've had time to reflect on the finale, (and this is my opinion only), and I did not find it a satisfying end to such a wonderful series. It was almost as if it was rushed, with Abby and Ian, Bree and Luke, and the Peck storyline was just a waste. Mick's addition was compelling, and I wish they dove more into that, but I was happy to see Mick and Megan remarry. They belong together--always did. It still left a lot of loose ends for me and it should have been a two-hour finale at best. But, at least we got a resolution, unlike Cedar Cove. It was a perfectly cast series and I'm sorry that Diane Ladd couldn't make some kind of appearance. Bravo, Hallmark, for such a wonderful multi-generational family series.
ReplyDeleteSavvy Girl, What a wonderful summation of Chesapeake Shores! I, too, thought 2 hours would've been better to finish it, but like you said, at least we received an ending, unlike Cedar Cove.
DeleteAlso, I felt the Peck situation was really left unfinished. I mean, the poor guy was hiding out in a foreign country for most of the season. I guess we are to assume Connor & Margaret will be able to win his case.
Anyway, thank you for sharing. It was refreshing to get your take on this!
You are so correct, Savvy Girl. I really want CS to continue, but am almost certain that they would start freely adding things in it and then we couldn't watch it. At least this was somewhat wrapped up for us.
DeleteThanks, Net! Connor and Margaret--I love them together, but again, loose ends. In my mind they did win the Peck case and go on to great things, as does Jess and her vineyard, Kevin going to med school, and Bree and Luke ending up happily ever after :). Thanks again for all you do!!
ReplyDeletePerfect Harmony
ReplyDeleteA pop star named Jack Chandeller sings Smile at You while Naomi records on her phone with a College Professor named Barrett Woodward. He introduces his Music Producer named Simon. Barrett sings Total Eclipse of the Heart via Karaoke π€ with Jack. Jack & Barrett sing Crazy Things Called Love at Naomi & Simon’s Engagement Party. Barrett finds Jack’s old lyrics book out of Teddy’s Mom’s old desk. No wonder Jack hadn’t finish the lyric in first places. When Jack talks to his Son; Teddy about lyrics that he hadn’t finish the lyrics. Barrett writes her poems into lyrics on Jack’s old lyrics book out of Teddy’s Mom’s old deals that Teddy hasn’t seen it within years. Jack & Barrett sing a duet “Perfect Harmony”, at Naomi & Simon’s Wedding Day Reception. At the end of the movie, they’re playing Jack Chandeller’s song; “Smile at You”. Barrett is a Poetry Professor who writes poems in songs on Jack’s lyric notebook. It’s seem perfect song for duo; Jack & Barrett to sing a duet “Perfect Harmony”, for their Best Friends named Naomi & Simon’s Wedding Day. The crowd is really love it as they’re clinking champagne glass with a fork that lead Jack & Barrett as Best Man & Maid of Honor a duet of a lifetime when they kiss. Jack & his Son; Teddy is sweet convention for being depression that almost losing each other & they protect each other since Teddy lost his Mom & even Jack’s Wife so, although Teddy is ahead the Wedding Day of Naomi & Simon unless Jack reads Barrett’s letter. Jack & Barrett gives Simon & Naomi a vow. Jack tells Simon Worth the wait. Simon tells Jack about Duo. Jack is allow Barrett to sing a duet with him on stage at Naomi & Simon’s Reception for a lifetime “Perfect Harmony”, when Jack shows his lyric journal book to Barrett - it’s perfect combination of poetry into song.
