HOME ALONE
CMT is a playing a marathon of Christmas movies ALL weekend long, which will include both Home Alone and Home Alone 2: Lost in New York, two of my all-time classic favorites. I plan to tune in when I can and enjoy them both - once again. I just love having it on in the background as I'm busy throughout the day. It is still so much fun to watch Kevin outwit the burglars, Marv and Harry. Plus, I love the sentimental moments with the neighbor and the woman who feeds the birds in the park.
Here's CMT's weekend Christmas Movie Schedule:

Saturday, September 24, 2022:
*Home Alone - 12pm
*Home Alone 2: Lost in New York - 2:30pm
*Elf - 5:30pm
*Home Alone - 8pm
*Home Alone 2: Lost in New York - 10:30pm

SHINING HIS LIGHT:
“Repay no one evil for evil, but give thought to do what is honorable in the sight of all. If possible, so far as it depends on you, live peaceably with all. Beloved, never avenge yourselves, but leave it to the wrath of God, for it is written, “Vengeance is mine, I will repay, says the Lord.” To the contrary, “if your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him something to drink; for by so doing you will heap burning coals on his head.” Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.”
~Romans 12:17-21
“Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God.”
~Matthew 5:9
I’ll watch A Royal Seaside Romance & recording Fly Away Home
ReplyDeleteI’ll watch Francesca Quinn PI
I watched Francesca Quinn and felt it was more of a true mystery. Had the feeling of a Hailey Dean mystery. Music was annoying though. Not sure if it’s me or TV but have been having trouble hearing some of dialog clearly. Commercials seem clear but movies sound different. I even use closed captioning sometimes. Curious if anyone else is experiencing this
DeleteJoCo, Thank you for sharing this review with us. It's so good to have the mysteries back!
DeleteI haven't watched this one, yet, but I know what you mean about the background music being too over-powering, at times.
Maybe, someone else who watched this can share their thoughts about this.
Thank you for letting us know your take.

The only one I’m interested in is Royal Seaside Romance. I loved Dan on Good Witch and I like Brittany.
ReplyDeleteAll of these 4 films look great! It's been a while since we've seen a mystery. Can't wait! Thanks Net!
ReplyDeleteOn paper this looks one of the strongest weekend line-ups this year - Florence
ReplyDeleteGreat American Family Movies
ReplyDeleteWeekdays 8am-12pm ET
I'm always disappointed when they parody Amish people in movies. They're not realistic.
ReplyDeleteYes, they do unfortunately. If they only did some research.
DeleteA Royal Seaside Romance was very beautiful! 100% recommend. -Maria
ReplyDeleteMaria, That's wonderful to hear! Thank you for letting us know.

Thank you for the new movie update and for suggesting Home Alone. I turned it on earlier and my kids and I are enjoying right now, one laugh after the other.
ReplyDeleteYou're welcome! I'm so glad you all had good laughs together. Home Alone appeals to all generations, young and... let's just say, older.
DeleteFly Away With Me...
ReplyDeleteI loved this movie! It was family friendly, funny, wonderful chemistry between the two of them and that dog was adorable! I loved how we see her bond with the bird and then you see it's a special bond between the four of them. I know, kinda cheesy, but really sweet! And I also just adored how Lewis was in on it at the end. It was a precious film and I want to buy it when it comes out on DVD. I hope we see a sequel sometime.
There was a tiny problem in the beginning. Her friend's boyfriend stayed the night and you see him the next morning. I was going to fast forward it but it only lasted a couple of seconds.
Abigail, Thank you so much for sharing your take on Fly Away With Me. I love knowing it is mostly family-friendly.
DeleteIt's too bad they had to include that friend, with her boyfriend scene. I think it is purposefully being added in to make situations like this seem more acceptable.
Anyway, so good to hear your enjoyment of the animals and everything. I'm looking forward to seeing it when it encores Thursday night.

Another great episode of CS! -Maria
ReplyDeleteMaria, I appreciate your weekly CS reviews... thank you!
DeleteFrancesca Quinn PI...
ReplyDeleteI was happy that this film was family friendly, but it was really depressing. Not really enjoyable to watch. There is absolutely no comedy like Aurora or Hailey Dean, which I really love in a mystery and it was also hard to follow. I do think it's one of those you have to watch more than once to fully understand. But it was clean, that was a good thing.
JoCo, it wasn't just you. I noticed the sound was poorly done as well. It was hard to understand while the music played. Almost made a buzzing sound.
When the main character speaks as commentary(with the music in the background) it reminded me of some Nancy Drew PC games my brother and I used to play.
Thanks for the post. Was hoping it was not just me. It's not just on Hallmark though. Have noticed it some on UP also. I have wondered if it’s the way they are making movies since ads seem to be clearer.
DeleteAbigail, Thank you for sharing your thoughts on the new mystery. Sorry to hear it is rather heavy, emotionally speaking. I thought the poster for it seemed rather dark.
DeleteGlad you could also let JoCo know your troubles with the sound. That is rather frustrating when the music overpowers the dialogue.
I appreciate you sharing. I posted your review here:
