My Grown-Up Christmas List is the first NEW Christmas in July movie premiere for the Hallmark Channel. Did you ever write a Christmas list to Santa as a child? I remember each year I would ask for the popular toys of the time and a doll, but one of my absolute favorites was a homemade gift my daddy made - a wooden rocking horse.
Now, as an adult, what I want most is to be surrounded by the love of family and peace on earth. I have a feeling peace and love may also be on the list of the adults in this new Hallmark military themed movie. What's on your wish list?
UPtv is also premiering a new rom-com this weekend. I was able to pre-screen this movie through UPtv, and you can see my review below.
Hope you enjoy the new movies + *Christmas in July* classics this weekend...

Movie Review:
"Love on Fire is a nice movie with a terrific supporting cast! There are a lot of familiar faces from previous movies on UP and Hallmark. Love Loretta Walsh (“When Calls the Heart”) and Christopher Russell (“Warming Up to You”) as Mo and Karen; they are both sooo fun as a happily married couple - a breath of fresh air! They have a daughter who has cerebral palsy, which inspires the lead female, Gianna (Gia) Summers (played by Tegan Moss of “A Christmas Miracle for Daisy”), who is working on a playground project, to include inclusive activities and equipment for children with disabilities. This is a heartwarming movie the whole family can enjoy! Sparks fly between Gia and Jim (a firefighter and single father) the moment they meet at the firehouse over an old barbecue. Jim is played by Devon Alexander (“Warming Up to You”).
Two brief cautions…
Mo says his wife, Karen, is really in to astrology; later on Karen says that Gia & Jim are a good astrology match, but nothing else is mentioned beyond that. Also, Jim jokingly asks Gia if she was an electrician in a past life. She teases back that she might’ve been.
Other than those comments, the movie is wholesome and family-friendly." ~Net

My Grownup Christmas List is family friendly is about a journalist & a military officer. A journalist named Taylor Nicols is ahead to her Grandpa’s Christmas Store. Taylor Nicolas’ Grandoa Frank Tubir’s owns the Christmas Store. I notice Taylor’s real name is Taylor Wynona Nicols whose goes the name Taylor. Taylor meets Captain Luke Malone who served in the military. US Army Infantry. Luke receives a letter when he’s in charge in Winter Mountain Training over a half a dozen countries in Eastern Europe. They’re spending more time together in a year in military for Luke & where’s Taylor works over years or apart over the course of several Christmases as they share a Special bond in between them. Taylor & Luke have a Christmas Wedding. Captain Adam Kearney is a Best Man & Bonnie is Maid of Honor. Captain Adam Kearney & Captain Luke Malone dress in Military Uniforms & Taylor is a Christmas Bride in Wedding gown. The Christmas movie My Grownup Christmas List is so beautiful Christmas movie that inspired a Christmas song as the same name sung by Amy Grant, Kelly Clarkson, or Michael Babel.

My Grownup Christmas List
ReplyDeleteBased on the Amy Grant/David Foster hit holiday song of the same name, “My Grown-Up Christmas List” tells the heartwarming story of Taylor Nichols (Wallace) and Luke Malone (McGarry) and the special bond that grows between them over the course of several Christmases spent together and apart. Taylor, a successful journalist, has returned home after her mom’s passing a few years prior to help her grandfather with his Christmas store. And Luke has just returned home from military duty to spend the holidays with his family. When Taylor and Luke meet, their chemistry is undeniable, and we follow them along their journey from a warm friendship to a budding romance. They work together to overcome any challenges that arise and commit to making the most important wish on their Christmas list come true – to spend every Christmas together for the rest of their lives.
Will we have a new military Christmas movie during Miracles of Christmas or Countdown to Christmas starting in October or will My Grownup Christmas List be the only Military Christmas movie of 2022?

My Grownup Christmas List
ReplyDeleteThere’s something missing in the Christmas movie is Arch of Swords ⚔️ for Military Weddings with 6 Groomsmen with swords ⚔️
Yes, there was no arch of swords, but there was a lot of hair on Kevin McGarry which was not a regulation length haircut. At the wedding Luke's awards crooked on his uniform jacket. All-in-all I liked it. Poor Kayla must have been freezing in that wedding dress!
DeleteThey’re already fix Luke’s military uniform his medal was crooked when its come out loose if they don’t even notice just before it’s filming but they don’t even reshoot on Luke’s medal comes out loose unless they could fix on Luke’s military uniform
DeleteNamegirl, Thank you for sharing your thoughts on My Grown-Up Christmas List! I'm glad to hear you enjoyed it, in spite of the military inaccuracies. I'm all for doing things right, typically, but thank goodness they didn't cut Kevin's beautiful hair!

My Grownup Christmas List
DeleteArch of swords
This custom came from the British Army and is now present in all American military branches. It is called the Arch of Sabers for the Army and Air Force or the Arch of Swords for the Navy and Marine Corps.
Originally, the tradition demonstrated a pledge of fidelity from the military to the new couple, since the military service members literally shelter the newly married couple beneath the arch as they exit the church. A special detail of six or eight members marches in a double line then stands and faces each other. In most branches, only officers can bear a sword of saber. In the Marine Corps, NCOs may also be on a sword detail.
Spanking’ the civilian spouse
This is a Marine Corps tradition that has been adopted by some of the other branches. It’s a Marine’s way of welcoming the new bride into military life. As the couple reaches the end of the Arch of Swords, the last two Marines lower their swords, blocking the way. The designated Marine calls out, “Give this Marine a kiss!” Once the couple complies, the lead Marine announces the couple, then the swords are raised. But as the bride proceeds forward, the lead Marine lowers his sword and gives the bride a gentle swat on her behind as he declares, “Welcome to the Marine Corps, ma’am!”
