I hope you all have a beautiful weekend... filled with sunshine and blue skies! We are having a bit of a drought here in the Mid-west, though, so we would be grateful for some cloudy skies and rain. Our fields look good right now, but they are needing moisture. Please pray rain comes our way. What's your weather like in your area?
As I stare at the calendar here at my desk (yes, I'm old school... I keep a real paper calendar), I can hardly believe this is the last weekend in June. I'm planning to enjoy some of the movies airing this weekend (especially Christmas!) and spend some quality special time with my family and soak up every bit of Summer that I possibly can. Do you have any special plans this weekend or movies you hope to see (old or new)?
Please note: I haven't pre-screened the new movies listed above. If you'd like to post a review on whether a film is family-friendly, please share in comments below. Thank you!
UPDATE: I have learned there will be a same-sex relationship in the upcoming Christmas in July movie, Campfire Christmas. Due to my own personal faith and beliefs, I will not be promoting this film. I wanted to be certain you all were aware.

SHINING HIS LIGHT:
~Romans 15:13
I'll definitely be watching that new UP TV movie. -Maria
ReplyDeleteThe plot for Two Tickets To Paradise has distinct possibilities but my concern is how Ashley Williams and Ryan Paevey will gel together.
ReplyDeleteHere's hoping.
I love the new look Tyler Hynes but I found Always Amore slightly on the dull side - Florence
I will watch the new UP movie and Christmas. I don't have much hope for the Ashley - Ryan pairing. The commercial is annoying enough.
ReplyDeleteI'm super excited for Christmas in July on GAC! I hope we see more of the estate where Jen Lilley filmed.
ReplyDeleteAre you going to see Christmas in July on Hallmark Channel?
ReplyDeleteChris, I'm planning to watch many of my Christmas movie favorites when the Hallmark Channel's Christmas in July movie event begins on July 1st!
DeleteWill you be watching, too?
I will be watching some of the Christmas movies in July especially new ones A grown-up Christmas list Campground Christmas and I forgot the third one.
DeleteChris, The last one is Christmas in Toyland. You can see details on ALL of the new movies in July on Hallmark, here:
Deletehttps://itsawonderfulmovie.blogspot.com/2022/06/hallmarks-5-new-july-movies-including.html
Looks like an entertaining weekend.
ReplyDeletedenise
I watched 49th Annual Daytime Emmy Awards
ReplyDeleteI saw Cameron Mathison for Soap Opers: General Hospital
I missed watching A Christmas Star on GAC this past season, so that will be my Christmas movie for today.
ReplyDeleteAnd you're not alone in being old school, Net...I also still use a paper calendar at my desk! (And I still like reading books that you can hold in your hand rather than on the computer!)
Mark 25 - Me too!!! There's nothing like holding a real book in your hands and marking where you left off with a real bookmark! Right? Plus, I figure I get enough screen time, so an actual book is a way to get away from that for awhile.
DeleteEnjoy watching A Christmas Star tonight! I thought it was a sweet one.
Merry *Mark the 25th*!!!
And the smell of the paper in a lot of the books, especially if it's quality paper or the pulp in old paperbacks! On the other hand, there is nothing worse than getting a used book that came from a smoke-filled place! Ugh!
DeleteNet and Mark 25, I watched A Christmas Star for the first time and was pleasantly surprised. I find Daniel Lissing brings a peaceful feeling to his movies. This movie is a keeper for me.
DeleteMark 25, I'm the same way - with that authentic book smell! It's the best! :)
Deletekitkat, I'm so delighted to hear how much you enjoyed A Christmas Star. I thought the references to the actual Christmas star on the night of Jesus' birth were nice, as well.
DeleteSo glad to hear this movie is a keeper for you, too! Blessings to you, my friend! :)
I posted your review to the main Christmas movie review post here:
https://itsawonderfulmovie.blogspot.com/2021/10/which-2021-christmas-movies-made-its.html
Net, I keep a calendar on my desk, too, and one in my purse. Sometimes the old ways are still better. CJ
ReplyDeleteCJ, I absolutely agree! :)
DeleteHope all saw your comment on Campfire Christmas. Planned on missing that one anyway. I too still like the hanging calendars. Love to see the month at a glance. My wife gets me a Ansel Adams one each Christmas. Love the photos and like the large areas to write in. Also still like the feel of a real book.
DeleteSame with me. Paper calendars are so helpful! Especially if you use pencils. ;)
DeleteHoping to watch Two Tickets to Paradise. My mom and I just love Ashley Williams! Hope it is clean.
Net, you said for me to keep you updated. Yesterday my first nephew was born. I'm an aunt now! Liam Haddon(Haddon named after Charles Spurgeon) He is so precious and my brother (he has the new dad giddyness ;)and his wife are blown away with joy. We all are! I can't get over how cute he is and he puts his hand over his cheek while sleeping. ππ
God is so good!
Also praise God for the non abortion state law success! Pray to keep all babies safe.
Congratulations, "Auntie"! Enjoy your time with little Liam!
DeleteJoCo, Oh yes, the Ansel Adams scenic landscapes are quite spectacular! What a lovely gift each year from your wife.
DeleteMy main calendar next to me is by Lang. My grandmother used to always have one from that company hanging in her kitchen, and now my aunt always gifts one to us each year, in her memory. Those traditional gifts (even the small ones we know are coming) are always so special and meaningful!
Thank you, JoCo, for sharing with us! :)
Abigail, YAY!!! I'm rejoicing with you new Auntie! I remember that feeling so well! The first grandbaby in our family was a boy, as well! I remember nearly bursting with excitement with being an Aunt for the first time. Praise God baby Liam is here and all is well! Life, indeed, is a precious miracle, an incredible gift from The Lord.
DeleteEvery time I hear the scriptures regarding life, I'm filled with such awe and wonder at this miraculous gift...
"“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart..." Jeremiah 1:5
“You knit me together in my mother's womb. I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made.” Psalm 139:13
I am rejoicing with you, Abigail! What joy for your dear family! If only every child could know that amazing love you all are pouring out to this new precious, delicate life. Enjoy all the special little firsts with your sweet little nephew! Give him an extra hug from me!!!
Thank you for sharing this wonderful joy with us!!! God bless you and your family!!! :)
Aww, thank you Net and Mark 25! God bless you too!❤
DeleteI like having Christmas back 24/7 this week. Wish the Hallmark Channel was playing them like that next month.
ReplyDeleteOffice Mix-Up
ReplyDeleteWith a mistaken identity, a woman named Lacey Miller stumbles into a dream job & finds love with a co-worker but is afraid she will lose everything if her real identity is revealed.
This movie is so-so
I will be watching Return to Christmas Creek tonight or maybe Christmas Bow or both from my dvr. Keep hoping Hallmark will put them on dvd, but maybe someday soon I hope. Anyway, Merry (6 months from) Christmas everyone.
ReplyDeleteALERT - Two Tickets to Paradise has a gay couple in it...I am so tired of having to be on guard with Hallmark movies!!!
ReplyDeleteI also had a bizarre feeling that this movie would end up being the real stink bomber in an already so so line up. I grew to like Ashley because of Christmas in Evergreen, and a few other movies she did. But in the past year with her Sister Swap movie having a gay couple in it, and her being so supportive of Hallmark's bad agenda, those feelings have definitely dimmed. -Maria
DeleteThank you, Anonymous, for sharing this with us. I know many are appreciative to know this before watching.

Maria, I know what you mean, about liking an actor, and once we see where their heart really is, it's hard to have that same likeable feeling, even when we see them in a family-friendly movie, we used to enjoy immensely.
DeleteThat’s how I feel about Ryan Paevey. I always enjoyed his movies but many of his recent ones have included woke storylines and characters. Now I know that I have to check the reviews of his films before watching when at one time I wouldn’t have missed one. That tells me a lot about him, morally and spiritually, and it’s sad.

ReplyDeleteTwo Tickets to Paradise, was the best movie of the year!! Ashley Williams quirky humor was great, and maybe Ryan Peavy's best movie yet!! I really recommend it to everyone!
ReplyDeleteBrenny, I've heard some people say they enjoyed the Ashley and Ryan pairing, and others, I've heard say it didn't work for them.
DeleteI will personally be skipping this one due to the other content in the movie, but it was interesting to get your take.
