Hope you enjoy all the new movies airing this weekend. I'm most excited to see Candace Cameron Bure in the 18th movie in the "Aurora Teagarden" mystery series. Not sure I'm loving Niall Matter's look with the full woodsman style beard, but maybe, it will grow on me! (haha! - figuratively, speaking... not literally, of course!) Hope this mystery will be as fun as the previous ones; it's great to see all of the regular cast members return for this installment. Plus, I'm really looking forward to seeing Natasha, Candace's daughter, portray a teen version of Aurora, along with Lexa Doig's daughter, Mia, portraying a young Sally.

Also, this weekend... it's the BIG premiere of the final chapter in the "Wedding Veil" trilogy! Alison Sweeney is an actress I typically enjoy when the character she is portraying is more easygoing and not so stiff and serious. Hopefully, she'll have more of a carefree spirit in this movie; although, in the previous "Wedding Veil" movies, her character, Trаcy, has been a bit more cynical towards *the wedding veil* working it's magic. We'll see how this one goes! Third times the charm, right?

Please note: I have not pre-screened the new movies listed above. If you'd like to post a review on whether a film is family-friendly, please share in comments.

Hope you all have a relaxing and peaceful President's day weekend!

Blessings to you all, Net

SHARING HIS LOVE:

"For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord."

  1. I am looking forward to the Aurora Teagarden movie the most. But that beard....someone tell him to shave it off!😂😂😂

Very excited for the third Wedding Veil movie too! The first two were sooo good!

  2. I smiled when you mentioned Niall Matter's beard...my first thought was "Wow he looks really good with a beard" Haha I'm looking forward to all these movies.

  3. I used to love the first Love Comes Softly movie, but then I read the books. The books are sooo much better and all of the films are so twisted and different than the beloved book series. If any of you haven't read any, do. They are so good. All of her's are. And you can see what a true believer Janette Oke is through her writing.

Beware...there is a woman in a bathtub scene in the first film. Not in the book.

    1. Abigail, You are so right! I read all of the books before I watched the movies. I love the pioneer setting, but I was constantly perturbed that they kept killing off the husbands. It seemed to happen every other movie. Janette Oke is a wonderful writer; I also enjoyed her Seasons of the Heart books, as well.

    2. Haha! My when my brother and I were 14(we are 10 1/2 months apart). He used to say it should be called "Loves Unending Dying Husbands" Never happened in the books.

I loved all of the Seasons of the Heart series! It was so good. I cried when his friend died, and loved the uncle's line, "Luck is the religion of the lazy."

Here are some of my favorites:
      Gown of Spanish Lace
      Bride for Donnigan
      They Called Her Mrs. Doc
      Roses for Mama
      A Woman Named Damaris
Love Comes Softly Saga(mostly the first 4)
Canadian West Series is my absolute favourite❤

Truly all of Janette Oke's are treasures. Hope you all get to enjoying them. God bless on this beautiful Lord's day!

    3. Abigail, Love that title you and your brother gave the movies - that is so (sadly) true!

I recognize many of those book titles, too! Janette Oke's books are all wonderful, inspiring, and engaging.

  4. Oh Mylanta, Candace Cameron Bure Is Apparently 'Cooking Up' New Project With Fuller House Co-Star Scott Weinger

Fuller House may have come to an end back in 2020 but that isn’t stopping on-screen lovebirds Candace Cameron Bure and Scott Weinger from reuniting and evidently working together again! The two actors, who portrayed Full House and Fuller House's famous on-again, off-again couple DJ and Steve going back to the '90s, are “cooking up” a new project.

It’s unknown what Bure and Weinger are working on, but it’s definitely going to be a special project, if Bure's caption is any indication! Though just what could it be? Redrock has done plenty of productions, partnerships, and TV and film developments. Perhaps this is a new partnership for the Fuller House alums, though whatever it is, just seeing the Steve and DJ stars together again is all I ever need.

    1. This is very interesting news! Based on Candace's "cooking up" comment, it makes one wonder if it's a movie, another "Full House" spin-off of the married couple, or maybe, a "Full House" themed cook book!?!?!?

    2. So happy to hear this good news, Maria! I just watched the "The Wedding Veil Unveiled" and loved it. I enjoyed the first one, too, but the misunderstanding over Lacey's singleness started stressing me out. The second one was lovely--the touch of mystery, slow romance that felt true to Autumn's character, and lovely Italian setting made for a well-woven story that charmed me completely! Can wait to see the final movie. :-)

  8. Aurora Teagarden Mysteries: Haunted by Murder is kinda spooky theme. Teen Aurora, Sally, Arthur, & Jack were at Ezra Enshaw House. Teen Roe found a secret room to open under the drawer of the dresser.
Nick, Roe,& Mona heard piano playing melody. Lillian & the rest are Ghost Hunters. It’s like Scooby Doo gang. The chair is moving, the secret room is open, & the portrait of Ezra’s eyes blink Lillian thinks portrait telling Roe & Nick something & Roe notices windmill on the paper is marked with X. The Enshaw House is haunted if there’s a ghost of Ezra Enshaw lived there at The Enshaw House is creepy & spooky. The next neighbor named Mona has an anxiety issue & her Daughter named Tamera Dilger. Mona had Husband named Lyndon Dilger. Lillian brings Anthony, the Brother of Frank at The Enshaw House. Teen Aurora & Sally saw something like fog in the middle of the night. Jack was outside, Aurora, Sally & Arthur were teenagers at The Enshaw House. Sally thinks it’s haunted. Phillip, Aida, Nick, Sally, Arthur, & Lynn but no Jack at Enshaw House. Sally scared the crap out hers. Aurora isn’t afraid of ghost. Lillian mentions melody is above wedding. Aida, Sally,& Phillip didn’t heard music but Nick & Roe heard it. When Nick & Roe heard music when they woke up & Sally goes with Roe. Nick & Phillip notice portrait of Ezra; if Phillip moves it but someone did. 10. I love the first five Aurora movies and have watched those numerous times. The rest of the movies have been kinda blah. I hate that John, Sally’s uncle, left the series, some of the main characters were missing from some of the movies due to the actors’ scheduling conflicts and the plots were a little slow. I did like the addition of Niall as the love interest, and her cousin as another member of the real murders club, but still didn’t enjoy most of the storylines in the later movies. Given all that, I didn’t have high hopes for the new Aurora movie, but was pleasantly surprised. I loved it, especially the spooky elements in this one. It might be my favorite Aurora movie.

  11. Movie Reviews:

Aurora Teagarden: Haunted by Murder –
No Spoilers in my review… I thought this Aurora was a bit creepier than most of the other Aurora Teagarden movies. Being a murder mystery, it is family friendly for around age 12 and up, depending on the child. Warning: there is a lot of talk all throughout the entire movie about ghosts. It felt like an episode right out of Scooby Doo, with the haunted house and an old portrait that moved around the house without anyone touching it. At one point, Aida (Aurora’s mother) even brings a paranormal search team, in which Lillian (Aurora’s co-worker, the librarian) is a member, into the house to look for any ghosts or spirits. I wasn’t fond of all the talk about ghosts, and neither was Sally (Aurora’s best friend), but most everyone kept saying ghosts weren’t real and there was a scientific, real explanation. In the end, of course, there is a real live-person, who is the culprit. Also, I had figured we wouldn’t see much of Candace and Lexa’s real-life daughters, who played the teen version of Aurora and Sally in flashbacks, but their scenes were even shorter than I had anticipated, which was disappointing. Overall, it was great to see the regular cast members return for this new mystery, and even though it wasn’t my personal favorite, I do hope we see more “Aurora Teagarden” mysteries in the future! ~Net

    Cut, Color, Murder –
No Spoilers in my review… This movie is family-friendly for around age 12 and up, being a murder mystery. The mystery part of the story was intriguing, as several people seemed guilty. I suspected the person who did the crime, but I was never 100% certain until that person was revealed. The cast all worked well together; I really liked Ali (Julie Gonzalo, “Christmas with the Kranks,” “Falling for Vermont”) and Chelsea (Grace Beedie, “Five Star Christmas”) as sisters. Plus, it was obvious there was a bit of a spark between Ali and Detective Kyle Crawford (played by Ryan McPartlin, “Chance at Romance,” “The Flight Before Christmas”). The one thing that bugged me was the haircuts! The movie is supposed to be all about a mystery-solving hairdresser, but each time Ali touched anyone’s hair – she pretended to trim a little around the neck and that’s it. She was basically done with each hair cut in 2 minutes. I’m sure any hairdressers watching this movie found it to be quite humorous. Overall, this movie was an enjoyable watch; however, the end is left in such a way – it appears they are planning more of these. ~Net

    Harmony from the Heart
Heartwarming and hilarious – this Valentine’s Day themed movie is the perfect mix of romance, drama and comedy! One minute, I was misty-eyed and the next, I was laughing out loud! Jesse Metcalfe and Jessica Lowndes had just the right amount of chemistry, starting off at odds, and then gradually, that tension eased. Jessica’s character, Violet, is determined that her musical therapy can help improve one's emotional well-being and physical health, while Jesse Metcalfe’s character, Dr. Blake Williams, a heart surgeon, is not convinced, until he watches, day by day, as Violet works with his grandfather. The ensemble cast was wonderful! Loved Violet’s witty best friend, Desiree, a hopeful romantic - who owns a flower shop, Blake’s fun, energetic brother, Max, who owns a chocolate shop, and Blake’s grandparents, who were equally wonderful in their roles. I truly felt actress Susan Hogan’s heart, as the grandmother, watching her husband struggle with therapy, especially knowing in real life, how she has watched her husband go through medical struggles and triumphs since his fall in early 2020. The singing was beautiful throughout the movie, and I loved the emotion of all of these characters. “Harmony from the Heart” is a very sweet movie, one I look forward to watching over and over again! ~Net

    1. That is truly interesting news that came out today. Hallmark must've feared she might also go over to GAC Family, too. I kind of have mixed feelings on this. Wonder if they are trying to do deals like this with other actors, like Candace Cameron Bure, Tyler Hynes, Andrew Walker, Alison Sweeney, Erin Krakow, Kevin McGarry, etc...

      Delete
    2. The important word would seem to be "exclusive".

This would suggest that Lacey is tied to Hallmark although it would appear she wouldn't have time to do many other projects!

I would hope she can keep her output family-friendly and please Lacey get those endings right - no more disasters like that in The Christmas Waltz! - Florence

    3. I have to say, that for a while now, I haven't really been into Lacey's movies. I havent watched one of her christmas movies since probably bits and piece of Pride prejudice and mistletoe. i doubt they had to sign her to anything, it is a given she will do more hallmark movies, what else will she do?

    4. I guess we shouldn't be surprised that Lacey signed with Hallmark. I am sure that with the number of former Hallmark stars signing with GAC, Hallmark saw the writing on the wall and figured they better get on the bandwagon and sign up some of their most prized actors. I expect that we will soon hear that Candace has signed up with either Hallmark or GAC. This is turning into quite a battle between these two networks.

  14. WOW!! That Aurora Teagarden Mystery was soooo good! No mushy scenes this time...It was probably the best one I've seen for awhile, since the Garage Sale days, at least. As usual, Sally was her funny scaredy cat self, and Philip was a go getter. And of course....Aida bought a "haunted" house! They did such a good job filming the spooky house. I'm definitely buying this when it comes out.

It also looks like they are keeping the door open for Aurora's father to join the show. I would LOVE to see Aurora's parents remarried. Their reasons for splitting up seemed sad(and selfish) to me. Marriage is so sacred. They did seem to still love each other in the wedding film.

Also appreciated the fact that we didn't see Aurora and Nick sharing a bed together (since they are both married in real life, if only they wouldn't kiss). As much as I love watching Candace, I've never understood how a Christian married woman could kiss another. It has always bothered me about her movies.

When I think of Lillian, I never thought of ghosts! ;) -Still funny.

Blessing to you, my friends. Hope you have a beautiful week.

    1. Abigail, What a fun review of the latest installment in the "Aurora Teagarden" mysteries! Good to hear how much you enjoyed this one. I also loved Sally in this movie. It's always fun to see how Roe convinces her into doing her little schemes!

Also, in reference to the kissing... I agree, it is awkward to see married actors kiss someone else, especially ones where we see them regularly with their spouse and children on social media. Candace has even commented in the past how she doesn't really like kissing all of these different men and doesn't want to do it forever.

I thought it was different, that they didn't end the movie with a kiss; however, I was perfectly fine with that, too.

You can really see how much the love and wanting the best for each other. So sweet. I loved the scene when Avery offers to help paint the apartment. It was nice seeing Peter at the ending as well.

The "tuxedo guy" Nick was a great addition to the series. He was kind, funny, and so helpful with lifting the rugs and supportive. Loved the first scene of the two of them at the tux shop.

My favorites are the first two, but wish it was still continuing. Gonna miss it. Loved it sooo much! I'm buying it when all three are sold together.

  17. I really enjoyed the latest Aurora Mystery! Which says a lot because I think they have done way too many of them. It has been a while since they’ve done one this well. Was there a different writer than usual? The mystery was so suspenseful and spooky compared to all the rest. Their was actually more flashback scenes than I expected, which was really nice! Sally is always my favorite character and I’m glad she had her usual “scaredy-cat” response to everything. The part where she was forced to spend the night in the house was so funny! Everyone’s reactions to her believing it’s really a ghost are hilarious!
A couple things confused me and annoyed me a little. One, who believes that Lillian is part of a paranormal investigation crew? She’s always scoffed at Aurora and her mysteries. Why is she all of a sudden interested in ghosts? I did, however, like how she was more integrated. She is a funny character that gets overlooked a lot. Second, why was there no mention of their childhood friend Jack after the opening scene? I kept expecting him to show up but he never did. (Spoilers) Thirdly, they didn’t resolve who wrote the message one the mirror the second time. Lastly, they can very slow sometimes. Obviously the drawing she found was a map! Come on! How long does it take you to figure that one out?
Overall, this one ranks in the top three for me. Only after the two originals.

    1. Good to hear that you enjoyed the Aurora Teagarden movie! There was a lot of detail to this one. Agree with your thoughts on Lillian! While she was fun to see more of, it did seem strange that someone so serious would believe in ghosts. It kind of seemed out of character for her.

Also, I was wondering about Jack, too, at first... and then I recalled the reunion movie. Jack (played by actor, Toby Levins, "Murder She Baked") was the one sadly killed in that movie and was found in the pool.

As for the message on the mirror the second time, I believe that was done by the person who also pushed Nick down the stairs. I don't want to spoil the ending for anyone else reading this, but I believe it was that same person and they tried to blame it on someone else by putting the corn syrup, etc... in their car.
