Movie Reviews:
๐ฎ "Just One Kiss definitely not family friendly. A so so movie also." ~JoCo
๐ฎ "I was so excited for JUST ONE KISS because I really like Santino Fontana. Unfortunately a few minutes in the male married best friend of the female lead mentions a man's name when talking to her. Then at about 15 minutes in the same friend shows up with another man. That is when I turned it off, so I don't know if they show up anymore in the movie. It was very disappointing because up to that point it had been enjoyable. =( " ~Anna
๐ฎ "Sorry to say that, as charming as Just 1 Kiss looks, there's a gay couple." -Maria
๐ฎ "I also saw just one kiss on Hallmark Channel on Saturday which was ok." ~Chris
Movie: A Royal Runaway Romance
Starring: Philippa Northeast, Brant Daugherty
Premieres: Saturday, April 9, 2022
Storyline: Princess Amelia of Bundbury (Northeast) travels across America to explore a budding romance with an artist, only to fall in love with her bodyguard, Grady (Daugherty).
Movie Reviews:
๐ฎ "Didn’t take long for A Royal Runaway Romance to fly off the rails. Definitely not family friendly. At least they didn’t wait till the end and try to sneak it in. Will just assume the worst from now on from Hallmark. Wanted to give benefit of doubt but that won’t work anymore." ~JoCo
๐ฎ "Sorry to say this, but A Royal Runaway Romance has a mention of a gay couple." -Maria
๐ฎ "A Royal Runaway Romance When Amelia talks with a painter named Wes Riverton is from Chicago when he’ll ahead back home? She calls her Uncle Andreas who lives in Los Angeles. He mentions a boyfriend as referred to him Wes Riverton to his Niece Amelia. He meets up with Head of Security Grady Beck. Grady has his SUV. Uncle Andreas leans his car to Grady to take his Niece; Amelia for road trip to Chicago to see Wes has his Poe Portrait Gallery. From California, Utah, Nebraska, & Chicago. Grady & Amelia go camping & they eat s’mores by campfire." ~Anonymous
๐ฎ "A Royal Runaway Romance... This film sadly does have an issue with the uncle(talking about his once gay love 2x. I ended up skipping past his scenes and was so glad I did because the rest of it was so enjoyable. I loved watching the two of them fall in love and his parents and the B&B older couple, still loving each other, so sweet! And when she gave away the dress and the pearls...awww! And also when the older lady looks at her husband and says that he is her home. I almost cried." ~Abigail
๐ฎ "I am heartsick over A Royal Runaway Romance! If I had only gotten the first part of the movie and knew the uncle was gay, I would not have watched any of the movie. Like it was, Hallmark got credit in the ratings for my watching most of it. Why are they using my favorite actors' movies to place this trash? I should have waited for reviews today like I said I would. Hallmark is never to be trusted." ~kitkat
๐ฎ "Abigail has hit the nail on the head with A Royal Runaway Romance. Such a pity they had to include the gay uncle but it doesn't amount to an awful lot of screen time. I respect others' opinions here and it's unfortunate that because of this many are missing what is actually a pretty good movie. For once the accents aren't off-putting and while it's a Hallmark movie and you have to suspend some belief overall the situations are pretty realistic - some touching, some humerous. It takes a little while for Phillippa Northeast to get into her role as the Princess but there's great acting by both her and Brant Daugherty especially at the beginning with Brant playing the inscrutable bodyguard. Excellent chemistry between the pair and I particularly like it when you can actually see the characters falling in love as the movie progresses. I liked the little cameos of each State as they passed through on thier way from LA to Chicago. One of the better Royal movies. Florence's rating 8 I'm not a fan of Royal movies in particular but this was one of best." ~Florence
Movie: Love, Classified
I have decided not to promote this movie. See details - here
Movie: A Tail of Love
Starring: Brittany Bristow, Chris McNally
Premieres: Saturday, April 23, 2022
Storyline: Bella (Bristow) learns her dog rescue’s future is in question when they lose funding from their main sponsor, a dog food company that’s being sold. The late owner’s son, JR (McNally), is a soldier who is home on leave to handle the sale. During a visit to the rescue, JR quickly bonds with Indie, a retired military dog they just took in, and begins spending more time there. When Bella learns the rescue’s property is also being sold, she turns to JR for help with finding the missing document proving her grandparents purchased the land many years before.
Movie Reviews:
๐ฎ "Remember when I hoped I wouldn't regret trying to watch 'A Tail of Love'? Well, (very awkward chuckle), I did. 1st 15 minutes in, 2 men show up with a dog, and they look together together. Honestly, I don't even know why I bother anymore. Probably just best to just stick to watching WCTH from now on." -Maria
๐ฎ "I can't really say that A Tail of Love is not family friendly. The scene that Anonymous mentioned probably does indicate a gay couple, but I wasn't sure when watching. It's very brief and they could be friends. Kids would not make the connection. Other than that, there's nothing else in the movie that indicates "woke". I personally think the movie was a little slow and the story a bit unorganized. But...it pays honor to our military as well as people with disabilities that need service dogs. Brittany and Chris did a great job but there's not much chemistry between them...but that's personal opinion. The dogs are great!!" ~Joyce
๐ฎ "Agree with Joyce, it’s probably implied but completely up to our interpretation. Thought they also mentioned being coworkers???? Maybe? Anyway, loved Brittany but the rest was just okay." ~Allie B.
๐ฎ "Brittany actually referred the one guy as the others partner. I don't believe she meant it as business partner either. I believe she meant it as reference to a homosexual relationship." ~Anonymous
๐ฎ "I recently read on other IAWM website pages that there were hints of a same-sex couple,. I missed that completely, and I have watched A Tail of Love several times. To me it is family-friendly, and I'm *very picky*. I really liked Brittany and Chris together. I hope to see them starring together again in another Hallmark Movie." ~Namegirl
๐ฎ "A Tail of Love – This is a sweet and simple tale of love! It is family-friendly; however, I want to mention (as others shared) there are two men shown together near the beginning who may be a couple or coworkers. Their connection is not clearly defined - so it's up to you to decide. If you enjoy dogs and puppies, then this movie will surely interest you because there are many cute doggies throughout. I thought the romance between Bella (Brittany Bristow) & JR (Chris McNally) was gradual, but still pleasing to watch unfold. I’m also a fan of the actress, Jayne Eastwood (Heart of the Holidays), who played Bella’s grandmother. With her spunk and spicy attitude, she is always a fun one to watch. Plus, she was a delightful family match with actress Brittany Bristow. (Spoiler Alert!) I was taken aback slightly by Bella’s reaction to JR, who was deciding on whether or not to leave for military service in Iraq. She did not like the idea of a long-distance relationship and pulled away from him. The romance resolves itself in the end, but I thought this was an odd way to treat someone in the service. Most spouses or loved ones are supportive of the individual who is serving our country. I thought this was a very odd reaction. (The storyline in "My Grown-Up Christmas List" is completely different.) Even though I didn’t like Bella’s initial response… overall, this ended up being a charming rom-com." ~Net

Movie Reviews:
๐ฎ "Always Amore is a very yummy, charming, and clean movie!" -Maria
๐ฎ "Always Amore is family friendly about IL Cabo E Vita - Italian Restaurant (the review/synopsis below may contain spoilers) A restaurant owner Elizabeth Campisu (Autumn Reeser) struggle to keep her late Husband named Chef Marco Campisi’s Italian eatery running after his passing. It's not till she meets Ben Elliott is a restaurant consultant, that she becomes open to necessary changes, and potentially, new love. He reignites her passion for baking and life itself.” ~Anonymous
๐ฎ "Very much enjoyed the movie with Autum Reeser and Tyler Hynes." ~Anonymous
๐ฎ "I saw Always Amore on Hallmark Movies and Mysteries which was very good." ~Chris
๐ฎ "For anyone who enjoys dining at a fabulous Italian restaurant, "Always Amore" is a treat! The cinematography is gorgeous and Giada de Laurentis' dishes are exquisite! I love this movie! It is sweet in mood as Autumn Reeser's character warms to Tyler Hynes' character, and Patty McCormack is lovely as always. I found this movie a sumptuous delight, family friendly and worth taking the time to observe the relationship turn to love. "Always Amore" has romantic charm, a terrific plot and beautifully-filmed scenes. Love Autumn Reeser's wardrobe! Tyler Hynes is definitely adorable! Give this movie a chance! You will fall in love with gorgeous Italian cooking! And the romance is nice, too!" ~Edith
๐ฎ "This movie is not as clear-cut as most rom-coms. This is a more in depth story about love and loss. I enjoyed watching Tyler Hynes' character, Ben, learn Italian ways and cooking, and immerse himself into Elizabeth's (Autumn Reeser) family, all while trying to help save the families' restaurant. And I enjoyed seeing Elizabeth open herself up to changes and the possibility of new love. Always Amore is filled with heartwarming moments and emotion. This movie is family-friendly for a mature audience, due to the dialogue about losing a loved one." ~Net
Movie: Curious Caterer: Dying for Chocolate
Starring: Nikki DeLoach, Andrew Walker
Premieres: Sunday, April 10, 2022
Storyline: Goldy (DeLoach) is a spirited single mom who’s thrust into the role of town sleuth to help solve a friend’s mysterious death. With the clock ticking to find the culprit, Goldy strikes up an unlikely partnership with Detective Tom Schultz (Walker), who leans into Goldy’s local knowledge. As their relationship shows signs of becoming something more, the suspect list rises. Will Goldy narrow in on the killer before the killer narrows in on her?
Movie Review:
๐ "Not sure where to post this, but wanted to let people know that Curious Caterer: Dying for Chocolate was good/safe as far as same-sex couples go (I didn't notice anything). Since it is obviously a murder mystery, and includes mentioning possible affairs, I will leave it up to parents as to age-appropriateness. My mom and I enjoyed it. There were commercial previews for Love Classified that were awful, and I may not watch anything else live again for now because of that. I will record and skip commercials." ~Anonymous
๐ "The Curious Caterer: Dying for Chocolate... 100% clean! Just how we all like it! This was a good one. I really loved her as the amateur sleuth! And halfway Detective Tom realizes that she's helpful and includes her in the investigation. The two were so well paired together and the younger cop Mason reminded me of Phillip(Teagarden) I do wish they hadn't included a ex-husband. God hates divorce. It's sad how so many married couples split over nothing, but still friends. Something's wrong there....Anyway, I really did enjoy this and encourage you all to give it a try!" ~Abigail
๐ "Abigail, I watched The Curious Caterer: Dying for Chocolate last night. I agree with you! I really enjoyed this movie." ~kitkat
๐ "Encouraged by the assurance that there was no "alphabet people" stuff in the Curious Caterer movie, I tried to watch it, and was also chased off by the music in the opening scene, and then they completely put me off with the matchmaking of the recently divorced single mom. Most HM single moms (and dads) are widowed; I know that divorce happens (just as homosexual behavior does), but it doesn't need to be even passively encouraged. Oh well, I can still look forward to the next Aurora Teagarden mystery (or Hailey Dean, but it looks like they haven't made one of those in over 2 years). Too bad HM jumped on the "We Hate Lori Laughlin" bandwagon so quickly, because hers was my favorite of the HM mystery series." ~Alfredo
๐ "For those of us familiar with this book series by Diane Mott Davidson, the script for this TV movie bears almost no resemblance, and has ruined most of the major characters." ~Anonymous
The two new Hallmark movies I'm looking forward to seeing the most from Hallmark's April movie line-up are A Tail of Love, with Brittany Bristow and Chris McNally and Curious Caterer: Dying for Chocolate, with Nikki DeLoach and Andrew Walker. First, A Tail of Love sounds like an adorable rom-com that includes puppies. I'm so in! As for Curious Caterer: Dying for Chocolate, I'm intrigued to see this all new movie since Nikki and Andrew have been talking about the possibility of teaming up to do a mystery together for years!
Please share your thoughts on the new movies in comments below...
Blessings to you all, Net
These all look enjoyable.
ReplyDeleteReally annoyed with HMM.
ReplyDeleteBoth their new April movies have the female lead married before (I'm assuming this is the case with Nikki DeLoach's character since she has a child).
Where's their balance?
The line-up on the main channel though looks promising.
We would be more liberal than most here regarding the family-friendly aspect - provided it isn't directly in your face, although I don't like I can live with it.
However given the details about Just One Kiss it looks like this one we definitely won't be watching.
The other three all look interesting though.
I don't know any of the actors in Just One kiss although from their photographs the leads look a good match-up.
Hadn't heard anything about a new Brant Daugherty movie and although I'm not a particular fan of Royal ones, Brant's always good fun and I like the sound of this.
Of them all, I'm really excited for A Tail Of Love with the return of Chris Mcnally and a lead debut for Btittany Bristow.
I usually like movies with a dog theme particularly ex-military ones.
I hope there's a bit of tension at the beginning because of the sale of the dog food company and resultant lack of sponsorship - Florence
I'm surprised they are doing yet another Italian restaurant movie again so soon. Between Wedding Veil Legacy and Welcome to Mama's I would think viewers will have Italian restaurant fatigue. LOL
ReplyDeleteJust be thankful that it's not another "wedding/event planner" movie. From their prevalence on Hallmark, you'd think that they were almost a majority of the population. I think cooks/bakers are next behind them.
DeleteAlfredo, That is so true! They make a lot of those types of movies, at least once a month.
DeleteThank you for also visiting here and supporting family friendly movies! :)
Thank you for making this site available. Due to Hallmark's cowardice, I no longer record/watch the first run of any Hallmark shows except for When Calls the Heart and a few of the established mystery series (and I've already "fired" a couple of the mystery series that I had been watching). Without this site, I would probably just ignore Hallmark altogether.
DeleteAnd thank you to all those of you who "bite the bullet" and provide feedback and warnings for the rest of us. You are all appreciated.
Alfredo, I'm so glad I can be here to help share this information with you and everyone who visits here and feels the same. It has been distressing for many of us to see where the entertainment industry has gone recently, especially in regards to companies we used to feel we could trust. Like you, I'm also truly appreciative to all of the reviewers that watch first, so we can know before watching and then watch peacefully.
DeleteSome PERFECT pairings!!! I am so happy to see Brittany Bristol again in a starring role and with Chris McNally even better! And in my book....anything with Tyler Hynes and Autumn Reeser either together or with someone else I would never miss!!! Then too, the same goes for Nikki DeLoach and Andrew Walker!
ReplyDeleteI agree with you Janet on the first two. I'm not a murder mystery fan.
DeleteA Tail of Love is new title for A Dog Named Indie
ReplyDeleteIt’s directed by Brittany Bristow’s Father
I am hoping there will be less of all the politically correct nonsense and pandering that Hallmark has in so many of the movies
ReplyDeleteover the last couple of years.
Ken, Well said! I agree 100%!!! :)
DeleteThe dog named Indie is Belgian Malinois in A Tail of Love
ReplyDeleteWhile I know that it's not your cup of tea, so to speak, there are people that subscribe/like/use this site that will watch "Love, Classified." Saying that, when writing about this movie you should at least add in a url/hyperlink to the movie, other than the post you made earlier this year, as well as the movie's air-date so that those using this site can easily find other accurate information on the movie if they are interested in reading more about it and/or seeing it.
ReplyDeletePerhaps Hallmark's official press release for the movie? I just checked Hallmark Channel's website's page for this specific movie and the About tab has very little information on it. Just a blurb about the main female character and a list of cast.
Just a suggestion.
Thank you for all the information you have provided over the years.
:)
Anonymous, Thank you for your kind comment. I'm glad to know you enjoy visiting here and seeing the weekly movie premieres. As for sharing more on "Love, Classified," I've decided I cannot promote this movie in any way. I hope you can understand my view on this. If anyone is interested, they can simply visit Hallmark Channel's web-site for more information.

DeleteThank you Net for your stand for the Lord. I appreciate your faithfulness in helping those of us who try to avoid watching things that offend us. This is my only safe place to get this info.
DeleteThough I am tired of all the royal movies, I adore Brant Daugherty, so my fingers are crossed this will be a "clean" movie.
Does anyone else remember "A Christmas Movie Christmas" from a couple of years ago? Brant and his wife Kimberly wrote and starred in the movie. It doesn't get mentioned much these days, but it was one of my favorite Christmas movies from 2019. It did a great job of spoofing a stereotypical Hallmark Christmas movie, and it had me laughing out loud perhaps more times than any other Hallmark Christmas movie, ever. I think it was shown only one time this past season, but fortunately I recorded it on my dvr. (And I think I just found my "Mark the 25" movie for this month!)
DeleteCT, Thank you for your thoughtful comment! I am truly blessed to know how much you appreciate my blog.
DeleteGod bless you! Net
kitkat, Thank you for being such a dear friend in the Lord! Your comments are always such a blessing to me.
DeleteBrant Daugherty is one of my favorites, too, ever since "Mingle All the Way!" I'm also hoping this new Spring movie is a good one! :)
Mark 25, I do recall "A Christmas Movie Christmas!" It is such a quirky, funny movie! UPtv even named their entire Christmas season in 2019 under the theme of "It's a Christmas Movie Christmas on UPtv!"
DeleteBy the way, Brant and his wife Kimberly have a new movie out titled: "The Nature of Romance." It's currently on Pureflix, but hopefully, it will come to UPtv eventually.
Hope you enjoy re-watching "A Christmas Movie Christmas" to Mark the 25th!
Net, since I am going to buy the DVD of A Christmas Movie Christmas from Amazon, if you can post it on your site, I will click on it so you will get credit.
Deletekitkat, You are so sweet!
DeleteHere's a direct link to the DVD for "A Christmas Movie Christmas" on Amazon:

Have you seen it, yet? If not, I also have a review for it here (if you're interested):
https://itsawonderfulmovie.blogspot.com/2019/10/a-christmas-movie-christmas-uptv.html
Net, I have not seen it. Don't know how I missed it. The DVD is on its way to me.
DeleteAfter reading Mark 25's comments and yours, I knew this would be a great one for my collection. If I had recorded it, I would join Mark 25 in watching it today.Thank you so much Net and Mark 25! Have a blessed weekend.
kitkat, Oh, I hope you enjoy it! It's a very lighthearted, silly and happy story. Blessings on your weekend, too! :)
Deletekitkat, I hope you laugh out loud as much as I have during this movie. I look forward to hearing what you think of it!
DeleteAnd I have been meaning to ask you...did you end up losing your movies because of your dvr situation a while ago or did everything turn out okay?
I hope you have a wonderful and blessed weekend too!
That is exactly what I need these days.
DeleteSaw an interview with Brant before The Baker's Son was shown and he said his wife was in labor with his son while he was filming that movie. He has such a sweet personality.
Mark 25, the strangest thing happened. After spending an hour or more on the phone with Comcast, ordering new boxes like they said we had to get, nothing happened. I signed the new order online and kept waiting for the new boxes to arrive. They have not arrived! No changes in our bill, nothing. The boxes are still working. We have a lot of questions, but it is too time consuming to try to get answers. When the boxes quit, I just reset them and they start working. I am sure one day they will stop working for good. Thanks for asking!
DeleteI will let you know how I like the movie.
It's always interesting to hear others opinions.
DeleteI respect them and all I can say is that A Christmas Movie Christmas was just not my cup of tea - Florence
I was so excited for JUST ONE KISS because I really like Santino Fontana. Unfortunately a few minutes in the male married best friend of the female lead mentions a man's name when talking to her. Then at about 15 minutes in the same friend shows up with another man. That is when I turned it off, so I don't know if they show up anymore in the movie. ReplyDeleteAnna, Thank you so much for giving us this detailed info on Just One Kiss; I posted your review above. That is very disappointing they had to include this in this story. I would've turned then, too.
DeleteI truly appreciate you sharing and taking a stand with many of us here. God bless you!
Presence of Love
ReplyDeleteI notice Brittany Bristow’s parents Leif & Agnes Bristow are Executive Producers
A Tail of Love
Directed by Brittany Bristow’s Father; Leif Bristow
Brittany's mother Agnes, wrote the screenplay and is a screenwriter. Taking about a trifecta family!
DeleteI recently read on other IAWM website pages that there were hints of a same-sex couple,. I missed that completely, and I have watched A Tail of Love several times. To me it is family-friendly, and I'm *very picky*. I really liked Brittany and Chris together. I hope to see them starring together again in another Hallmark Movie.
DeleteNamegirl, I appreciate you sharing your thoughts on A Tail of Love. I haven't watched it fully myself, but I did see the opening scene, and it's easy to see why everyone would have varying opinions.
DeleteI'm glad to get your take, as well, and hear how much you enjoyed Brittany and Chris' pairing together.
Thank you for sharing with us; I posted your review above!
Has anyone seen A Royal Runaway Romance? If I don't hear it is family friendly, I will record and watch later. Think I will watch A Christmas Movie Christmas and wait for reviews on this. I love Brant Daugherty! To see how much he loves his wife, makes me enjoy watching him even more.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for running this blog. I was just about to watch the A Royal Runaway Romance but decided to check for reviews first. So glad I did! I will not in any way support Hallmark or any other company sneaking this type of stuff in. It's sad because this one looked really cute. Most of the time we just watch old shows and movies at our house. It's just getting to be that anything current is filled with this type of stuff. Can't even trust Hallmark anymore I rely on you and Focus on the Family's Plugged In before I watch anything anymore. Grieves my heart, and protecting my kids' innocence gets more and more difficult. Just thank you a dozen times over for this blog!
ReplyDeletemelnewlife, I'm so glad I could share these reviews with you before you watched A Royal Runaway Romance. I know just how you feel about watching any new movies/shows. The enjoyment just isn't there any more. We are always wondering - what might be in the next scene? God bless you for protecting the innocence of your children and family. I know we are not alone in our beliefs. I've been feeling discouraged about blogging about movies, so your comment blesses me so much!
DeleteAny reviews yet on The Curious Caterer. It does not air til I believe it is next week April 16th in Canada. Just want to know if I should bother recording it on my PVR!!
ReplyDeleteYes, a review just came in this afternoon for "Curious Caterer: Dying for Chocolate!" I posted it above under the images for the movie.
DeleteI think it will definitely help you in deciding whether or not to record.
Does anyone know if they fixed the Hallmark streaming app? At Christmas it would cut off the last five minutes of every movie! Someone mentioned being bothered by the inappropriate commercials for that one movie (I had to make my kids cover their eyes!), but I don't have DVR and am nervous about trying the app again and missing the ending of every movie.
ReplyDeletemelnewlife, That is an excellent question! I remember people rightfully complaining about this issue at Christmastime. That was awful, plus you couldn't even fast-forward to re-check it. I haven't heard any problems since then, so hopefully they fixed that.
DeleteI agree - the commercials are sadly not appropriate for family viewing. Plus, there are many I don't want to see either. Advertisers used to care if they offended their audience. No more. They all seem to bow down to the woke agenda these days.
Maybe, someone else here can offer advice on the Hallmark streaming app???
Encouraged by the assurance that there was no "alphabet people" stuff in the Curious Caterer movie, I tried to watch it, and was also chased off by the music in the opening scene, and then they completely put me off with the matchmaking of the recently divorced single mom. Alfredo, I understand how that can be a turn off, especially when the divorced couple is shown as being friends or something. If we know the one spouse cheated, then of course, I feel that abandoned spouse has the right to pursue another relationship. It is such a sad situation and tough issue, any way divorce is shown; it is always heartbreaking for everyone involved. I appreciate you sharing your perspective on this. I posted your review above, and I agree with you, divorce should never be encouraged.
DeleteAlso, in regards to the other mysteries you mentioned, there's no word on any future Aurora Teagarden mysteries, yet, and unfortunately, Hailey Dean is one of the mysteries that has been cancelled.
Like you, I also enjoyed Lori Loughlin in the Garage Sale Mysteries. I sure wish there was a way to make more of them! If only GAC Family could do light-hearted (non-murder) mysteries, too! There could be plenty of mystery options with the antique shop.
Anyway, blessings on your weekend... Happy Easter!
Abigail has hit the nail on the head with A Royal Runaway Romance.
ReplyDeleteSuch a pity they had to include the gay uncle but it doesn't amount to an awful lot of screen time.
I respect others' opinions here and it's unfortunate that because of this many are missing what is actually a pretty good movie.
For once the accents aren't off-putting and while it's a Hallmark movie and you have to suspend some belief overall the situations are pretty realistic - some touching, some humerous.

Excellent chemistry between the pair and I particularly like it when you can actually see the characters falling in love as the movie progresses.
I liked the little cameos of each State as they passed through on thier way from LA to Chicago.
One of the better Royal movies.
Florence's rating 8
I'm not a fan of Royal movies in particular but this was one of best
Thank you, Florence, for sharing this. I posted it above. I agree, it is too bad they added this storyline.
