SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 25, 2021:
Here at "It's a Wonderful Movie" we highlight every 25th day of the month - TOGETHER! - as we Countdown to Christmas! You can also join along! This is our last month to do so - because by this time next month in October, Christmas movies will be airing on the Hallmark Channel and Hallmark Movies & Mysteries around the clock!
For all of you Christmas movie fans who wish to participate, simply pick something Christmassy to watch TODAY - on the 25th! It can be a Christmas movie, cartoon, family sitcom or anything you like. (There's only one stipulation - it must be family friendly.) Then, please share in comments below your Christmas choice for the day!
My personal pick to *Mark the 25th* of September is "USS Christmas"... in honor of our wonderful military and how hard they fight for our freedoms! I think they need our support even more these days.
I also thought it would be fun to choose a movie with Jen Lilley - since she's working with GAC Family and their network is launching this upcoming Monday, September 27th!
"USS Christmas" Storyline: Maddie (Jen Lilley), a reporter for a Norfolk newspaper, embarks on a Tiger Cruise during Christmastime where she meets a handsome naval officer (Trevor Donovan) and stumbles upon a mystery in the ship’s archive room.
What is your Christmas movie pick to *Mark the 25th*? Please share in comments below...

Hope you all have a warm and wonderful weekend! I'm looking forward to seeing all the new movies this weekend...
*Taking The Reins - with it's beautiful horse farm setting
*Romance in the Wilds - looks like an intense action adventure (plus, it's fun knowing this is part one to the Christmas movie - Christmas in the Wilds)
*Rise and Shine, Benedict Stone - appears to be another feel-good, emotional, heartwarming drama
Please share which movie or movies you are looking forward to watching in comments below...
In addition to the new movies, it was wonderful to see the Christmas movie news that came out this week.
Hallmark released Christmas movie details for their *Countdown to Christmas* on the Hallmark Channel and *Miracles of Christmas* on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries. We'll see familiar faces, such as: Candace Cameron Bure, Lacey Chabert, Holly Robinson Peete, Danica McKellar, Benjamin Ayres, Steve Lund, Alison Sweeney, Brennan Elliott, Ryan Paevey, and Tamera Mowry-Housely, etc... And lots of new faces, too! Hallmark is to have, at least, 41 new Christmas premieres across both networks. See *Countdown to Christmas* on the Hallmark Channel - *HERE* and see *Miracles of Christmas* on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries - *HERE*!
GAC Family also released details on three more Christmas movies this week for their *Great American Christmas* franchise, with stars: Jen Lilley, Brendan Fehr, Becca Tobin, Matthew MacCaull, Sarah Lind, and Dillon Casey. This makes a total of six for their current total of Christmas movies. See GAC Family Christmas Movies - *HERE*! I'm anticipating more are to come!
UPtv has not posted a press release with their NEW 2021 Christmas movies, yet; however, they do have a new Christmas promo airing on their network - which states their Christmas programming will begin Friday, November 5th and it shows some of the new Christmas movies we can expect to see this year, including: Kayla Wallace and Jeremy Guilbaut in "Snowed in for Christmas," Kaitlyn Leeb and Nick Hounslow in the third movie in the royal series: "Christmas With A Prince: The Royal Baby", Elysia Rotaru and Damon Runyan in "A Snowy Christmas," and more! I'm expecting UPtv will be releasing their Christmas movie details soon! Stay tuned!
Blessings on your weekend! Net

I’m gonna watch Snow in for Christmas on UPtv I’m gonna recording
ReplyDeleteI saw Snow in for Christmas movie trailer on YouTube
I've watched a preview for "Snowed in for Christmas," too! That movie looks like a sweet one. I'm so happy UPtv will be airing it this Christmas! :)
DeleteGood to know the movie Romance In The Wild will be shown! I hope it's good.
ReplyDeleteMisty
Your blog has become a favorite of mine!
ReplyDeleteAwe, thank you! That is so sweet of you to say - bless you! :)
DeleteI was disappointed at the nearend of Taking the Reins that one of the actors had to introduce his boyfriend and went off holding hands.
DeleteThis was inserted into a perfectly good movie to that point. As a Christain I do not like that.
If Romance In The Wilds is as great as it appears, I will definitely order the DVD. If the DVD is available, it must be an old movie. The guy starring in this was outstanding in Love, Alaska. I am excited to see this movie. Did Christmas In The Wilds have the same actors?
ReplyDeletekitkat, Yes, "Christmas In The Wilds" has the same main actors - Kaitlyn Leeb ("Heartland," "Crossword Mysteries: Abracadaver") and Victor Zinck Jr. ("Love, Alaska," "The Christmas Cottage")!
DeleteThere's a trailer for the Christmas movie on YouTube, but you may want to wait and watch it after you watch "Romance In The Wilds."
Here's the link:

Net, I only saw a portion of Romance In The Wilds but I did record it to watch later. Thanks for info on the trailer for Christmas In The Wilds. Both actors are great. I had seen both of them in the movies you mentioned. What I did see of Romance In The Wilds was impressive.
DeleteOkay Net, I cheated. Could not wait to watch the trailer. Christmas In The Wilds is going to be even better than Romance In The Wilds. I pre-ordered both DVD's. This is reply #2 to above comment.
Deletekitkat, I love it! As soon as I saw INSP Films was involved with this project I just knew it would be family friendly and it most definitely was!
DeleteI wrote a review for "Romance in the Wilds" here:
https://itsawonderfulmovie.blogspot.com/2021/08/uptv-september-2021-tv-movie-premieres.html
That's so fun that you ordered both DVDs! I sure hope UPtv plans to air the Christmas one, too! :)
Definitely more to come on GACfamilyTV for Christmas. ;)
ReplyDeleteGreat to hear, Denise! I'm so excited to learn more! :)
DeleteHappy 25th of the month, everybody! Wow, we are three-quarters of the way there! Time sure seems to be flying by, doesn't it?! Can't wait for the start of the new Hallmark (and GAC) Christmas season in less than a month!
ReplyDeleteIt sure feels like Fall here in Chicagoland, and I love it! I am going to record and later watch Taking the Reins, but it has put me in the mood for a Nikki DeLoach movie. So for my Christmas movie tonight, I am going to go with last year's Cranberry Christmas. Not her best Christmas movie in my opinion, but not a bad one either.
Mark 25, Thank you for the reminder! I meant to add that in above; I just did a quick update and included it. Better late, than never, right?
Delete"Cranberry Christmas" is a great choice. Relationship wise - it seems similar to "Taking the Reins."
My pick for today is "USS Christmas," in honor of our wonderful military and how hard they fight for our freedoms! I think they need our support even more these days.
Thank you, again, for the reminder... have a blessed weekend and Merry Mark the 25th! :)
Taking the Reins
ReplyDeleteAlexandra thinks Matthew gonna ask her out when Matt has a boyfriend named Jared
Alex asks Samantha when she wonders why Matthew didn’t ask her out
Alex asks a black guy to dance with her
Thank you, Anonymous, for sharing this information with us; I am very disappointed to hear this.
DeleteI posted your review here:

ReplyDeleteMy heart is hurting today. I watched Taking The Reins and it was a beautiful story until about 7 minutes before the ending. Then a gay introduced his boyfriend to Nikki's sister, took the guy's hand and said "let's dance". Until that point, I had enjoyed watching Nikki give one of her best performances. After seeing the gay scene, that movie was ruined for me. I was so upset, sleep would not come. I prayed myself to sleep. Now I am not sure I can watch another Hallmark movie until someone reviews it. Such a shame! Hallmark rated this movie G. What will it take for Hallmark to put a CAUTION on their movies?
kitkat, Oh no.... My heart sunk as I read your review. This is very discouraging, as I was fully expecting this movie to be wholesome and family friendly. Since many of the actors involved have shared that they are Christians, I thought this movie would reflect those values. Sadly, I was mistaken.
DeleteI'm so sorry this also effected your rest, but I'm so glad you turned to the best place - prayer!
Thank you, honey, for sharing with us.

Taking the Reins was a nice movie, until the last few minutes, when the guy the sister liked introduced her to his boyfriend. Then the camera made sure to show them in the background slow dancing.
ReplyDeleteJennifer, I'm so sorry to hear this. I did not watch this, but it sounds sneaky the way they slipped in at the very end. It's almost like they knew people might turn it, if it was mentioned at the beginning, but since they had it at the end, they already had your ratings. I'm so very disappointed along with you.

Warning! Taking the Reins is not family friendly. Has same sex couple near the end of the movie! Was like a slap in the face! Didn't see it coming! So disappointed!!
ReplyDeleteJoyce, Thank you so much for sharing this warning with us - for those of us who haven't watched this. On Sunday night my family and I weighed watching this on the DVR or Chesapeake Shores and everyone picked CS. I'm so glad we did, as it was very sweet and family friendly. I'm so disappointed along with you that they included this - and at the very end, especially. They knew what they were doing. So sad.
DeleteGAC Family couldn't have launched at a better time!

Rise & Shine, Benedict Stone
ReplyDeleteI love this movie is such a gem. I love precious gemstone family with meanings - I’d like to wear like bracelets. They hang gems under the willow tree near Benedict’s house. Benedict follows his Father’s footsteps to become a jeweler who family owns jewelry store. Benedict separates from his Wife; Emilia after 10 years of unsuccessfully trying to have a baby but he wants to regain his Wife’s love, despite her need for space. His Niece, Gemma arrives her Uncle Benedict’s house in the middle of the night. Emilia & Benedict’s 10 years Anniversary - Benedict makes necklace with gemstones of meanings. They got married at the end of the movie. Gemma said they make for each other
Thank you for sharing this nice review for "Rise & Shine, Benedict Stone." So good to hear how much you enjoyed it.
DeleteI'm looking forward to catching it when it encores Tuesday night. Sounds like a heartwarming movie.

Thank you all for the reviews on Taking the Reins. So sneaky that they added the scene in at the end; I'm sorry for everyone who thought they were watching a family-friendly movie only to be disappointed at the very end. I am deleting it from my dvr. Looking forward to GAC Family channel and hoping they are truly "family" friendly; but first I've got to convince Verizon to add GAC back to the lineup (they just deleted the channel in August!). Might be time for me to switch providers or figure out another way to watch.
ReplyDeleteKeep the reviews coming! Much appreciated!
~~Jane
Jane, I sure hope you can get GAC back on your provider. I don't have the GAC Living channel on DirecTV, and I'm also hoping they will add it someday, but I'm not holding my breath - as they already took away a local channel I liked and even though I persisted in requesting for years, they never added the PixL channel.
DeleteSo far on GAC Family, the new programming hasn't been added to their lineup, yet, (coming Oct. 15th!) but in the meantime, we are seeing beautiful, heartwarming promotional ads for their upcoming Christmas season.
I sure hope you can get it back, too, or stream the movies somewhere! So nice to hear from you, again! :)

There’s more about gemstones with meanings when Benedict Stone reads his Father’s Gemstones Journal so, Benedict & his. Niece, Gemma find family heirloom in old crest
Gemma brings gemstones in the pouch bag that inherited to her Uncle Benedict
I have finally found that HM and HMM website now is showing what Christmas movies they are playing this season, and I am so happy to know HMM will be playing some of the older movies so I can watch that channel a lot and likely not watch HM at all. I shouldn't say this too loudly, HM may take the old movies off completely. Thats all that keeps me watching HM stuff anymore. But glad we will have GAC too.
ReplyDeleteSabrina
Not sure where this question really belongs, but I want to read a Christmas fiction book that has been turned into a new 2021 Christmas movie. I know there’s that “Mrs. Miracle” one, but I wonder if there’s are others that you know of already. I know BYU’s Christmas movies sometimes come from books, but their movie information seems to come out later. Thank you!
ReplyDeleteYes, there are some books that are made into movies; however, I must warn sometimes the books are as PG as the movies.
DeleteThe BYU movie you may be thinking of could be The Christmas Jars. Love that movie!
As for new ones for this year, I'd have to look more in to Hallmark, but we just recently learned of two from GAC Family that are based upon books...
A Christmas Miracle for Daisy - click here to see at Amazon
Jingle Bell Princess - click here to see at Amazon
Yes, “Christmas Jars” was a wonderful movie and the one I was thinking of. I will check the new ones out. Thanks for the information and the reminder about the content. I am hopeful that the books that the GAC Family movies are based upon are “cleaner”.
DeleteThought I would let everyone know I found Christmas Doctor on amazon. Comes out in November. Still hoping for Christmas Bow, Return to Christmas Creek, On the Twelfth Day of Christmas and more.
ReplyDeleteYes, isn't it great!?!? "The Christmas Doctor" is now available for pre-order! I finally had the chance to add it to the site today - along with "Deliver by Christmas!"
DeleteI think some more are coming soon... like A Nashville Christmas Carol and If I Only Had Christmas (individually).
I was surprised at how quick "The Christmas Doctor" and "Deliver by Christmas" will be available. Usually, when news comes out - the release date is further away, but these are available by early/mid November!
See the 2021 Christmas DVD's *here* - for even more releases!!!
