Hallmark Press Release:
STUDIO CITY, CA - September 9, 2021 - Hallmark Channel has announced that Bethany Joy Lenz ("One Tree Hill," "Five Star Christmas") and Tyler Hynes ("Sweet Carolina," "Roadhouse Romance") will be starring in the all-new original Hallmark Channel movie, "An Unexpected Christmas." The film will premiere as part of the network's "Countdown to Christmas" programming event.
Jamie (Hynes) hasn't told his family that he and his now ex-girlfriend Emily (Lenz) broke up. After an inopportune run-in with Emily at the train station in his hometown, Jamie convinces her to pretend they're still a couple to avoid ruining Christmas for his family. Jamie and Emily engage in a week-long ruse of participating in his family's holiday activities together. While they're stuck in his family's home, the pair discovers their relationship might still have some potential, resulting in a very unexpected Christmas.
The all-new original movie is a part of Hallmark Channel's "Countdown to Christmas" programming event, the destination for holiday entertainment.
"An Unexpected Christmas" is from Unexpected Road Productions Ltd. Charles Cooper serves as Producer. Michael Robison directed from a story by Paul Campbell.

I think these two sound like a cute match. It is interesting to note actor Paul Campbell ("Holiday Hearts") wrote this story.

Exciting News Net! Thank you for always keeping us up to date on new movie news. You’re the best!
ReplyDeleteIm getting a real bad feeling somebody has it in for me this Christmas!
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry but Bethany Joy Lenz is just not one of my favourite actresses (although I did like Just My Type) and she gets paired with one of my favourite actors Tyler Hynes although the plot sounds interesting.
If Paul Campbell has written this then it might be quite witty.
I know a lot of fans here will not have watched last year's Christmas By Starlight (which Paul both wrote and starred in with Kimberley Sustad) but it really was one of the highlights with both delivering many great one liners.
I just really hope it is Family Friendly.
With the Christmsa news filtering through so slowly we're going to have to be prepared for a deluge.
I'm expecting some day soon to look in and find something like 20 or more new Christmas announcements.
Over the Channels wasn't there around 100 new Christmas movies last year? and swe've barely scratched the surface of this year's batch - Florence
Did you guys remember when the planes hit the world trade center on September 11,2001?
ReplyDeleteI watched on TV. Cried and prayed and watched in horror and disbelief. The way our country came together was incredible, it felt like one nation under God. We’ve lost that since that day.
DeleteI was interested until I found out who wrote the story. Paul Campbell used to be one of my favorite actors until his recent stand including non-family-friendly content in his movies.
ReplyDeleteI’m conflicted about this too. Although if his family-friendly movies do better than the non-family friendly maybe that would be sending a message.
DeleteTyler Hynes is my favorite actor and I'm so excited for this movie.

This duo has a lot of potential. I haven't been a fan of some of the Christmas casting that's been announced so far.
ReplyDeletePaul Campbell writing this gives me pause since his last couple movies haven't been family friendly. It'll go on my list for now but I'll be extra cautious.

A movie based on a lie isn't my idea of fun, as much as I like the two leads. And oddly, I believe that Bethany Joy's Christmas movie last year had the same plot. Grr.
ReplyDeleteThis sounds like a great one!

Hi net, thank you for all your hard work with the blog, it’s truly appreciated. As a fan of both Tyler and Bethany, I cannot wait to watch this film especially after some of the bad pairings we’ve seen recently.
ReplyDeleteBethany and Tyler sound cute and the story sounds ok, but I don’t like that they are lying to the family, that really isn’t a new story.
ReplyDeleteI’m wondering this - why isn’t Paul starring in this movie? Could it be that there is something added to this movie and since Paul’s last 2 movies already had this in it, he handed off to others? That’s my guess.
