I hope you all have a wonderful weekend - enjoying the first day of Spring, along with the first Spring Fling movie! As usual, I'm looking forward to seeing everything NEW this weekend, especially "When Calls the Heart!"

And... the new "Mystery 101: Killer Timing" looks especially intriguing. Hallmark shows in the movie promo - Kristoffer Polaha's character Detective Travis Burke walking by a building - when suddenly there is an explosion that throws him a distance! Did you know something very similar to that actually happened to Kris in real life? He had drifted away from God spiritually, but he felt like God was trying to pull Him back. That unexpected event miraculously brought him back to Christ. You can read the full story about it at beliefnet - here. It is truly incredible and inspiring! Please let me know your thoughts about it or your take on the new movies in comments below...

Have a Blessed Weekend, Everyone!

Happy Spring! Net

SHINING HIS LIGHT:

"See! The winter is past; the rains are over and gone.
Flowers appear on the earth; the season of singing has come,
the cooing of doves is heard in our land.
The fig tree forms its early fruit;
the blossoming vines spread their fragrance..."

  1. Where was Chasing Waterfalls filmed? Do you think that would of been a perfect Summer Nights movie?

    1. Chris, From what I've been reading, Cindy Busby shared that most of the filming locations were within an hour of downtown Vancouver, Canada - including Squamish, British Columbia. They sometimes had to hike about 20 minutes just to get to certain waterfall locations for filming. Also, it wasn't always easy for Cindy to be near the edge of a cliff - she's a bit afraid of heights, to the point of getting vertigo. However, she said it was exhilarating to conquer her fear. I truly admire that!

Also, yeah, I could see it might've been a good Summer Nights movie, as well, but Spring is also an exciting time to take a walk and get outdoors! Either season could probably work well here.

      Happy watching!!!

  2. I had no idea that happened to Kristoffer Polaha or that he is a Christian. Now I like him even more. I wonder if they wrote that in the story because that really happened to him or if it was just a coincidence?

    1. Yes, isn't that incredible? It makes me like Kristoffer more, too... knowing he conquered that inner soul-stirring struggle and rediscovered his faith in The Lord! What a miracle his life is! I'm so glad he received a second chance.

  3. Wow...such an inspiring story about Kris! Thanks for sharing the link about him!

On a separate note, I had been wondering how Michael Logan has been doing since his accident over a year ago. It appears that while he is still in the hospital, he is doing much better and is even joking with the nurses!

    In both cases...praise the Lord!

    1. Mark 25, Yes, praise The Lord, indeed! Isn't it wonderful about Kristoffer? If you look closely, you can see a scar on the side of his face. Hopefully it's a beautiful reminder to him of how precious life is.

Also, I try to keep up-to-date on Michael Hogan from time to time, too... especially since what he had was so similar to what my dear aunt with through last year in January when she, too, fell and hit her head. Sadly she never woke up, and I still miss her so much. It's good to know Michael is doing well; I'm so happy for his family, especially his devoted wife, Susan. What a sweet couple there are. I long for the day we'll hopefully see them on screen together again.

    2. Awe... I know just what you mean. My Team Nathan heart is currently heartbroken, but it's only episode 5 of WCTH - many more to go! :)

    3. I watched an interview before the season started and they said that it would be very back and forth. It would look like she was going with someone and then it wouldn't end up that way. So that tells me that she will end up with Nathan:) I was team Nathan in season 6, team Lucas in season 7, and now definitely back to team Nathan this season. I don't know what I ever saw in Lucas haha. He seems arrogant and prideful, and he doesn't even seem to care about little Jack. Like last night, when they had their date and she mentioned that he hasn't been himself, Lucas just said "you don't have to explain". He should have asked! Nathan would have. Nathan cares and you can see that Elizabeth cares about him, too

    Allie is just like Elizabeth
    Nathan just like Jack

Allie needs a Mother is Mrs. Thornton (Elizabeth)

Jack Jr. needs a Dad is Nathan

    They could’ve start a family

Nathan could’ve build a dream house for Elizabeth, Allie, Jack Jr. & himself to honor Jack Sr.’s

If Nathan has Jack’s moments to honor him

If Nathan could’ve but Bill’s & Jack’s land for House

    Dream house
    Stable
    Etc....

  6. Nope, Elizabeth hasn’t chosen 1 of the suitors. She could’ve chosen Nathan. What means for Jack Jr,, needs a Dad is Nathan for his Mother; Elizabeth. Little Jack could’ve chosen Nathan as his Dad & even wants a Sisteer is Allie. They could’ve start a family

Jack Thornton could’ve a dream house for his family just before he passed away - his messenge bag 💼

  7. Happy Spring to you, Net, and everyone here! I'm looking forward to the new When Calls the Heart on Sunday. It's hard to believe Robert is old enough to graduate, but kids probably graduated at a younger age back then.

    1. Anna, I was thinking the same thing when I saw the preview. Back then I believe most children didn't go beyond sixth grade, so Robert is probably past even that. Wonder if he will join the Mounties after all?

Enjoy watching the new episode! :)

  10. Is The Perfect Wedding that premeires on Easter Weekend on Hallmark Channel is the sequel to One Winter Weekend and One Winter Prospal?

    1. Yes, "One Perfect Wedding" is a sequel to "One Winter Weekend" and "One Winter Proposal." And from the promos Hallmark shows- it looks like there is snow in it, too! Snow also falls some places in the Spring. We've certainly had it in April; I imagine many other places up north have, as well!

  12. I am so behind on movies, but I did watch some UPTv movies this weekend:

My Birthday Romance--this movie was cute, sweet, I LOVE Ali Cobrin, she was a new face to me but I loved her. Love Jesse Hutch. Loved her family and how close they were and the little girl (her niece) was just adorable. Nothing seemed inappropriate to me.

Romance Retreat--I like Amanda Schull a lot and Morgan David Jones was great. It was a little slow at first, but I would watch it again. It was funny. Seemed appropriate although I think it was implied Dana and her boyfriend Jon were going to be sharing a room, but it didn't happen and I am thinking it was implied but it might not have been at all. This was a great movie about taking time to enjoy life rather than blowing thru it and also about doing what is right even if it means putting yourself out there.

Started watching The Dating List but didn't get to finish so will be back on that. I cant wait to watch Charm of Love and Love at Sunset Terrace next.

    1. Sabrina, I've been enjoying a lot of the UPtv movies lately, too! I finished "Sincerely, Yours, Truly" over the weekend. That one was super cute! Loved Natalie Hall and Marshall Williams together. It had a "In the Good Ole Summertime" (or "You've Got Mail") sort of feel to it. Very sweet romance.

I also enjoyed watching "My Birthday Romance!" Her brother was super funny, and I just loved all of the family! The mom & dad were a little pushy, but you could just sense how much they love and care for their daughter. Glad you liked it, too!

The only UP movies I haven't watched are the same ones you mentioned! :)

  13. Not holiday, but to update on this from last year, Erin Cahill and Marcus Rosner's LOVE STORIES IN SUNFLOWER VALLEY premieres next week in Canada, on W Network (Mar. 27).

Kind of surprised Hallmark didn't pick this one up, to be honest.

    1. I wouldn't be surprised, at all, if it ended up there still. That movie is from Reel One - and a lot of their movies end up on Hallmark, Lifetime, and UPtv.

If Hallmark picks it up, they may be saving LOVE STORIES IN SUNFLOWER VALLEY for Summer Nights or Fall Harvest since Sunflowers bloom during the summer and into autumn.

I sure hope someone in the U.S. picks it up!
