I hope you all have a very Happy New Year!

As we each have many hopes and dreams for the new year ahead, it's my prayer that 2021 will bring with it more of the normalcy we were used to - last year at this time. May we all have joy, know peace, and experience the fullness of God's love.

Blessings in the New Year to you all! Net

  1. Happy New Year to you and everyone here.

I am looking forward to the new movies. They look fun. Hope they are all family friendly as I can't DVR them. I can catch them on OnDemand for a day or two, but then they get taken off.

  2. Happy they show the movies after Christmas.
I just HATE the Golden Girls and on the HMM channel those shows that they repeat are getting a bit much too.
I am looking forward to relaxing and watching these last few days of movies.

    1. I've been soaking in these last days of Christmas movies, too! I'm also going to miss them next week.

Like you, I'm also not a fan of "The Golden Girls;" it's just not a decent show. I've never understood why Hallmark would continue to play them year after year when it doesn't seem to go with the overall family friendly feel of the network.

Enjoy all the Christmas movies while you can and Happy New Year!!! πŸŽ‰

  4. Thank you Net for all you do! Happy New Year to you! I haven’t been commenting lately but I’m still here and I do enjoy visiting your site. It really helps for me to decide which one of the movies I need to watch or skip. To be honest, I have a mixed feeling towards Hallmark and the Christmas movies on tv this year because some of them are not of the same values I would support. All in all, there were some good ones and I’m glad that I got to watch them.

After watching most (if not all) of Hallmark Christmas movies, here are some of my top ones from Hallmark this year (needless to say all of these are family friendly):

    The Angel Tree
This was definitely my most favorite one this year. It had everything I wanted in a hallmark Christmas movie: romance, great chemistry, super cute banters, comedy (LOVE those coffee puns), a little mystery, family, amazing leading actor and actress, and a unique story. This movie had me chuckled and awww-ed so many times. The military story was a sweet bonus too. Lucas Bryant needs to be in more Hallmark movies! Definitely a keeper in the DVR go watch over and over.

On the 12th Date of Christmas
I really like the unique story and the chemistry. I forgot how much I love Tyler Hines in hallmark movies and this certainly reminded me. This is my first time seeing Mallory in Hallmark but she was equally great too. When they were brainstorming for the scavenger hunt app ideas I felt really intrigued to see how it all will come together. So cute and will definitely watch it again!

    Christmas on the Menu (Lifetime)
This was sooo cute. I love the writing so much. I really enjoy Josie and Tanner’s conversation. It left me with a feeling of wanting “more” romance-wise in the end, but I still think it was wonderful. It was unexpected coming from Lifetime.

    Christmas Waltz
This was just a lovely movie. Love the dances. I felt the ending needed a little work though. I wished for something more than ending it with the dance. I did love the story, and Lacey and Will had a great chemistry.

    Project Christmas Wish
So cute! Had me chuckled too many times. Love Amanda’s character. Love her chemistry with Travis and their cute banters. The story and conflict about opening your heart for new love were real and believable.

    Honorable Mentions:
    A Glenbrooke Christmas
I was so happy to see Autumn and Antonio paired again since their last movie together (Love at Thanksgiving Parade) was one of my most favorite Hallmark movie of all time. This one was not quite that level but it was still cute and I still loved it.

    Good Morning Christmas
I love the unique story and the cute banters. I’m not a big fan of a love triangle usually so that’s the only thing that make this not in my top list personally. Alison and Marc were both wonderful in this and truly what I expected them to be, just like in their previous movie “Irresistible Blueberry Farm”.

    One Royal Holiday
I’m not normally a big fan of royal movies (except for “Princess for Christmas” and “Crown for Christmas”). There are some parts that were too cheesy for me but it was still cute.

    Five Star Christmas
I just love Bethany Joy Lenz. I wish there’s more chemistry but this movie was still cute to watch. I chuckled many times when they were pretending to be the guests of the inn. Loved the unique story.

    Cranberry Christmas
Nikki DeLoach and Benjamin Ayre were great in this. I do like the separated couple story. I just don’t feel that it was believable enough that they were separated to begin with. They were too sweet to each other to be a separated coupleπŸ˜†. There was no sense of estrangement. It was still a sweet movie and the apology/ring scene when Benjamin Ayre got teary eyed was soooo beautiful. I love what grandma said, “Express what you’re thinking because he can’t read minds. Admit your shortcomings because they’re obvious anyway. Do the work because making your marriage last is the most beautiful, challenging, terrifying and worthwhile work you’ll ever do”

    3. CH Mom, The Angel Tree is my favorite for 2020 also! By now, I have watched it at least a dozen times. It was on New Year's Eve so I can say I watched it from 2020 to 2021. Brings me so much joy!

  7. Happy 2021, Net and to all your followers! Thanks so much for the schedule--I see two of my faves--Let it Snow and Christmas in Montana are on the list, and even though they coincide, I'll flip back and forth!

I'm with you on Winterfest--it so conveyed the theme of the movies and it's so nice to see winter settings even though not in a Christmas plot.

I have to admit I was sorely disappointed in Hallmark this Christmas season. My favorite ended up being The Christmas Carousel. I did find myself watching the family friendly movies on Lifetime more than HM and I did find them more enjoyable, especially Dear Christmas. Melissa Joan Hart has been starring in some great Christmas movies the last few years. Also looking forward to the mysteries, especially the Martha's Vineyard series (I live in Massachusetts so maybe a little biased), but Jesse Metcalf is a personal fave and I must admit I think a man in the lead in HM is a nice change (nothing against the women leads, of course!)

Thanks again, Net, for everything you do here and may God bless you in 2021!

    1. Savvy Girl, I love that you mentioned "Dear Christmas!" I just watched it for the first time a couple nights ago, and I couldn't help from laughing all throughout the movie - it was just super cute and enjoyable, definitely one that is so lighthearted and fun... I'm so looking forward to watching it over & over again!!!

I'm also looking forward to the new Martha's Vineyard Mystery. (By the way, I'll have a post on it on Monday!) I so missed seeing Jesse Metcalfe in a new Christmas movie this year; he's such a cutie!

Enjoy these last days of Christmas movies! God's Blessings & Happy New Year to you! :)

    2. So glad you liked Dear Christmas! I watched it a couple of times myself, and I think a sequel would be fun, too. Loved Melissa and Jason Priestly's chemistry and also the fact that they were a little "older" than the average romantic couple--I love that!!

    3. I agree with Savvy Girl on a couple points!
It is SO nice to see a man as the main Hallmark lead! I am a woman and I do love a strong female lead but....Hallmark tends to overshadow EVERY guy, from the posters to the story and emphasis. And it makes me sad; shouldn't they be equal? I always cheer on the rare occasion that I see the male lead listed first in the credits and when both leads are show equally on the posters! :)
It is also nice to see all the family-friendly shows on Lifetime this year. I too found myself watching Lifetime more than Hallmark, if only to support them for making good, family movies! While Hallmark is declining, with respect to values, Lifetime is improving. I remember Lifetime's Christmas movies ten years ago as compared to now; it seems that they are making an effort to make wholesome movies (at least at Christmas). While not all of Lifetime's movies are wholesome I almost feel obligated to give a little extra support of their good ones so that they know that people want those types of movies (and to encourage them to make more)!
Melissa Joan Hart has had some great movies these last few years. Hers are always so comically fun that they are hard to resist! I haven't watched "Dear Christmas" yet but I'm looking forward to it! :)

  8. Thank you so much for sharing the not so family friendly warnings on the various movies this holiday season. I've been meaning to comment on how helpful they were to me. I never ventured outside of watching Hallmark movies but seeing that Lifetime had a few mentions from previous years, I set up my DVR to watch them. I also discovered UPTV and Ion thanks to you. I hope to chime in more next holiday season. Best wishes in 2021.
