LACEY CHABERT to host HALLMARK'S 2019 "Christmas: A First Look Preview Special"🎄🎅

Hallmark announces: Lacey Chabert hosts a first look at original movies premiering this holiday season during Hallmark Channel’s Countdown to Christmas and Hallmark Movies & Mysteries’ Miracles of Christmas.

Joining Lacey Chabert for this preview special, are “Home & Family’s” pet expert Larissa Wohl, Hallmark Channel’s pet adoption ambassador Happy the Dog, plus adorable puppies and kittens - who need a "fur"ever home!

Happy the Dog has also starred in his own Hallmark Christmas movie. In 2017, he starred alongside Candace Cameron Bure in Switched for Christmas, although Love at the Shore was his first Hallmark movie role. Happy the Dog and his friend, Happy the Cat can also be seen in the Happy Yule Log specials, that typically air on Thanksgiving and Christmas day on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries!

This festive preview show is certain to be dog-gone cute!

And... if you're wondering - which Christmas movies are we most likely to see during this preview?!?! My hunch is - we will see clips and behind-the-scenes coverage of most of the movies that Hallmark has already informed us have been filmed, such as (potentially):
Christmas Love Story (starring Scott Wolf (Lacey's "Party of Five" brother) and Kristin Chenoweth, Holiday for Heroes (starring Melissa Claire Egan and Marc Blucas), Christmas Wishes and Mistletoe Kisses (starring Jill Wagner, Matthew Davis and Donna Mills), Christmas Town (starring Candace Cameron Bure, Tim Rozon and Beth Broderick, Two Turtle Doves (starring Nikki DeLoach and Michael Rady), and MORE... plus, another possibility that I'm almost certain will be shared is... Christmas in Rome (starring Lacey Chabert and Sam Page)!

Please note: Each movie listed above, may or may not be featured in this preview special; however, Hallmark has already announced - they will be premiering these movies this upcoming Holiday Season! Should be fun to see which movies are included in the preview. Let's hope there will also be some surprises!

    1. That's right... it's a sneak peek for both Hallmark networks this Christmas - the Hallmark Channel and Hallmark Movies & Mysteries! :)

  2. 1) I hope the kitties I see in the picture will be on the show, the last few preview shows have only had dogs on them, now I do know cats are harder to keep still and can bolt at any moment, but I am glad to see them featuring kitties this time

    2) I like Net, believe these will be the movies they do during this preview, if so then its good I wont have to watch the entire hour, I am surprised there is anyone out there that doesn't already know these movies are going to be on countdown to Christmas. I would prefer new stuff, but most likely wont get that. I do also remember last year they did a 2nd Christmas preview show, and of course, they played some of the same previews from the 1st show. Once was enough, and hope for more new stuff.

    1. I'm with you, Sabrina... bring on the kittens!!! They've been left out of these preview specials, and they need to be shown too! I certainly adore my precious fur babies, and hopefully others will be inspired to bring one (or more!) into their home.

As for which movies will be shown, we can only guess, but I sure hope there will be some fun surprises and reveals. Hard to say. And as preview shows go, as we both know with "June Weddings," changes are still possible.

I like the preview shows, and I don't like them too. I know that sounds weird, but I never like to see too much of the Christmas movies before watching them fully. It's like seeing who-dun-it before watching a mystery, which is no fun.

Anyway, we'll see what's included. I always like when they go behind-the-scenes or play silly trivia games!

  3. If I remember correctly, I *think* that the First Look special Hallmark aired in July 2018 showed clips of 6 movies, and then they threw in a little bit about "Marrying Father Christmas" at the end. So, essentially, they covered 7 movies in that one hour they were allotted (followed up by the Second Look special in September, and then the actual, full-fledged holiday preview shows in October.

I'm not sure if the reason they only covered 7 in last year's First Look was solely time-related, OR if it was because they didn't have enough Christmas movies filmed at that point to be able to include more of them in the special.

So, right now, Hallmark has filmed more Christmas movies than they have space or time to fit into this new First Look special coming up, *IF* they only have room to cover 7 of them. Some of the movies will be left out of this First Look special, if time is an issue.

However, my guess is that we will definitely, without question, see clips from:

    --Christmas in Rome
    --Christmas Town
    --Merry & Bright
    --A Christmas Love Story
    --Holiday for Heroes

What will be the other 2 movies Hallmark chooses to show clips from, IF they go with showing 7 again?

Possibly, maybe, "Two Turtle Doves" and "Christmas Wishes & Mistletoe Kisses"?? But they might also want to show a clip from "Christmas Duet," which is just about to wrap up filming.

Whatever the case, if time constraints are an issue, then some movies will have to be left out of this special and they will have to narrow down what they show clips from.

When the Second Look special airs in September -- IF they do a Second Look this year -- they will cover some of the ones they already covered in the First Look, along with the new "Christmas at Graceland 2" movie and "Sense, Sensibility & Snowmen."

I remember getting annoyed last year because they kept showing clips from "Marrying Father Christmas" -- in the First Look, in the Second Look and in the regular preview special for the Miracles of Christmas -- when some of that time could have gone to showcasing another movie that was left out of the specials!!

    1. Oh YES... I remember they showed a lot of behind-the-scenes and preview clips from "Marrying Father Christmas" last year and "Christmas at Graceland" in various preview specials. With so many movies, I don't think it's fair to the actors to repeat movies like that.

As far as this upcoming preview special goes, your guesses are pretty much the same movies I'm anticipating we'll see. "Christmas in Rome" is surely a definite, since Lacey Chabert stars in it, but I bet she'll show others first, before sharing it!

I noticed Danica McKellar will be on Home & Family later this week. I'm sure she'll be promoting her Summer Nights movie, "Sunshine," but it's possible she might have Christmas news to share since she hinted about it last week!

Oh, what a fun time it is - anticipating & sharing all of this Christmas movie news!!! :)

    2. I wonder if Danica has Matchmaker Mysteries news too, since I saw on HMM this AM their new signature mysteries starting aug 4th every sunday nigh (I am assuming up to Christmas). Matchmaker was one of them, and there was a brief clip of Danica hiding behind a wall and peeking out.

    3. I also saw that Danica is going to be on Home & Family on Friday - so I'm looking forward to seeing if she reveals news on "Matchmaker Mysteries" & Christmas!!! And, of course her upcoming movie - newly re-titled: "Love and Sunshine."

BTW... IMDB lists "Matchmaker Mysteries" in Pre-Production!

  4. Lacey is one of my favorite Hallmark actors and she is great at connecting with the audience in shows like this. I can't wait to see her host this show, and to get a preview of this Christmas season's shows. Christmas is coming up fast. Where did the first half of this year go? I'll be watching for sure. Also have to admit that I hope Happy the Dog and Happy the Cat will show up as well. Merry Christmas in July everyone.

    1. I agree, Mark2, this year has gone by way too fast! Christmas, real Christmas, will certainly be here before we know it!

You are so right about Lacey Chabert- she is always wonderful in these preview shows and interviews. I think it's because she has such a good heart, we can feel it and sense it - even through our TV screens!

Merry Christmas in July to You!!! Net

    2. Net, I think you are right. Lacey just comes across as sincere and very likeable. She seems to be talking directly to the audience, even through a TV screen. Great actor, too. Thank you again for all your hard work in our behalves. You rock.

    3. Oh, thank you, Mark! That is so sweet of you to say!

I think you've nailed it completely on why we all enjoy seeing Lacey on our TV's - in the preview specials & movies! She has such a genuine sincere heart! :)

    1. That's interesting. I noticed this interview was from January. At that time, viewers didn't know if Frankie Baldwin and Nate DeLuca were going to be married. Now that they are, I'm not sure where the story would go from there. Perhaps, Rachael was trying to keep viewers, at that time, in suspense on whether or not Frankie and Nate would finally say "I do."

However, you never know. Viewers are constantly asking for more "All of my Heart" with Lacey Chabert and Brennan Elliott and the last movie was also their wedding! Anything's possible!

  6. Oh, I meant to mention this before, but I saw last week at the bottom of the tv during HMM Christmas movies, that HMM is going to play their new movies Thursday and Friday nights, and it says every thurs and fri night. I am not sure how I feel about this, and I wondered what everyone else thinks.

Ok, so I am kind of happy cause then there wont be the 8 pm sat HM and 9 pm sat HMM, and have to decide what to watch and miss the live tweet of one of them, so I like this will be more spread out. and there are 16 HMM movies so that works out to every thurs and fri right up to the week before Christmas. so then I wonder if that means they wont do the whole week of thanksgiving which I will be happy cause that week was A LOT of movies.

Then I kind of don't like it cause I just hope it doesn't have a negative effect on the HMM ratings, being on Thursday. But for me, I have gotten used to Christmas Thursdays, although I tend to forget about it til about 10 pm and I turn it on and its half over. I never forget Christmas Fridays. So I do like it being spread out, but just hope it doesn't hurt HMM ratings. I am sure they will put the best movies on Fridays, the ones with the bigger names.

    What does everyone else think?

    1. WOW, Sabrina! That is very very very interesting news!

As soon as you mentioned this, I remembered they did something similar to this before. I checked my Christmas schedule archives for verification. Thankfully, I happened to remember a few of the movies that aired that year which helped. Anyway, in 2010 on the Hallmark Channel, they premiered Christmas movies on Thursdays and Saturdays! (See December 2010 archive) Movies like "The Santa Suit," "Gift of the Magi" and "The Santa Incident" first premiered on a Thursday. And, there was one new premiere that year on a Tuesday, "Three Wise Women."

I remember - part of me liked it and part of me didn't. It was harder to remember to watch those nights, but then it was easier to see more since I also wanted to watch Christmas on other networks too.

And - just as I was writing this comment to you- I saw an actual commercial stating: the Miracles of Christmas on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries will have All New Holiday Movie Premieres every Thursday and Friday night! In the commercial they show a mix of clips, old & new!

Guess this will taking some getting used to. The Hallmark Channel will surely have new premieres every Saturday & Sunday night - so, that's 4 nights in a row of new premieres - all throughout the Christmas season. And who knows, yet, what Lifetime has up there sleeve! :)

I'm the crazy cat lady in my neighbor...have rescued many. I'm happy to see the kittens included and very happy to know I'm not the only cat lover here!! You don't know what you're missing if you haven't been "owned" by a cat!!

    1. Oh Joyce, we are long lost sisters, I am the cat girl, everyone knows at work. I volunteer at a local cat rescue group so I don't bring home anymore cats, a way for me to help the kitties get homes (that does not include my house) and I get to play with them. Been volunteering there for at least 10 years,. its very rewarding. and then I have my own bunch at home, my Bridget, Gandalf, Linus, Mitts (I know you aren't supposed to have a favorite, but she is my favorite) and then Rusty has lived in my garage for like 5 years. He loves it out there. He is not a fan of other cats. Linus, Mitts, and Rusty I found outside, Linus took me 2 months to be able to pet him and gain his trust and then he moved in, and Mitts took me 2 weeks to get her but she was fine once I brought her in (although those 2 are extremely afraid of other people but my husband and I). and rusty I found outside one day and said "hey kitty" and he ran over, and well adopted me. I just adore cats, they are so wonderful and so sweet. I wish everyone could see how loving they are, how Gandalf greets me at the door, how Mitts and Bridget are in the bed when I get home and they reach their paws out to me to hug them. Just so sweet :)

    2. Joyce & Sabrina...

Now I know why we get along so well... it must be our love for cats! (and Hallmark movies, too, of course!) I, too, am such a goner whenever a kitty cat is around. I've had both cats and dogs, and both melt my heart. Living in the country, we've had many find us, and choose us for their home. Of course, I can never say no. What joy they have brought to us... each one becomes a member of the family!

Love your comment, Joyce... I've definitely been the one owned by my cats!!! haha!!!

And, Sabrina... your fur-babies sound adorable! I love that they adopted you!!! That is so true!

Now we just need another cat movie like Nine Lives, right? I think it's time for Happy the Cat to star in a movie too!!! :)

      Delete
    3. I absolutely love Ambrose (I used to wonder if he was happy the cat?) I think Ambrose is just so adorable, I want to hug him. And Happy the Cat. I fear we may never get a movie with Happy the Cat, cause when a cat doesn't want to do something, they don't do it. It may take them a year to film all the Happy the Cat parts.

Funny that I just got an email from a co-worker, he heard I like cats and sent me a picture of his cats :)

      Net & Sabrina,
My cat loving sisters!!! I would love for Hallmark to let a kitty be the star of another movie. It's been way too long! I know what you mean Sabrina about the kitty hugs. I have one that gets in my lap and puts his paws on my shoulders and proceeds to give me kitty kisses on the cheek. Sweetest thing ever! Both of you keep loving those kitties!

  9. Non Christmas related but I just saw that Hmm will have new movies every Sunday starting August 4th, probably leading to Christmas including Aurora, ruby herring, chronicle mysteries, Darrow, Matchmaker mysteries, mystery 101 and crossword mysteries. I'm excited cause that means matchmaker is this year I think they are playing the 1st aurora on both channels August 4th to promote mysteries chronicle mysteries is already on for August 25th I think. Super exciting mystery info.

    1. Yes! I just heard this, Sabrina! I was given a heads up yesterday on this news from my friend, Sherry. This is definitely awesome! I knew Hallmark Movies & Mysteries had a lot of new movies in production, but 12 straight weeks of new Mystery movies on HMM is really amazing! This is going to be a great launch - to their Miracles of Christmas season!

I just love the Mystery movies... hope we get a press release on this news soon! :)

    2. I saw many movies filming like 2 more Mystery 101, the chronicle mysteries, darrow, but I didn't see ruby herring maybe it hasn't been filmed yet. I have to admit, the ruby herring wasn't my favorite. I LOVE Taylor Cole, but I think I prefer her in the romantic comedies. I just wish so much Alicia Witt was Ruby Herring.

I feel sad to say, but I think all this is happening cause Garage Sale was cancelled. I am definitely missing Lori, I miss her other movies, her Christmas movies, and the garage sale.
