HEARTLAND rides again on UP this APRIL!!!

UP TO PREMIERE AN ALL NEW SEASON OF HEARTLAND
ON A NEW NIGHT BEGINNING SUNDAY, APRIL 23rd

UP PRESS RELEASE:

ATLANTA – March 1, 2017 – UP TV, the entertainment destination that tells the stories of families of all shapes, sizes and complexities, announced today that the network will premiere season ten of the beloved family drama Heartland. The new season begins Sunday, April 23rd with back-to-back episodes at 8 p.m. and 9 p.m. ET before settling into its weekly 8 p.m. ET timeslot. UP will air 18 U.S. premiere episodes. The only place viewers can catch up on all nine seasons of Heartland is on UP’s subscription-on-demand offering, UP Faith & Family.

“UP is thrilled to bring our passionate Heartland viewers an all new season of one of their favorite series on a new night this April,” said Sophia Kelley, svp, programming. “The whole family can come together to watch all the drama unfold on Sunday nights on UP. In anticipation of the new season, the previous nine seasons are available on UP Faith & Family so that fans may catch up and relive their favorite moments with the Bartlett-Fleming family.” Heartland is the longest running one-hour dramatic series in Canadian history, and UP has been the exclusive U.S. cable home of the series since 2011. Heartland is a multi-generational family drama about the Bartlett-Flemings as they go through life together while dealing with both happy and trying times. The series is based on Lauren Brooke’s best-selling novels, starring Amber Marshall as Amy, Michelle Morgan as her sister Lou, Shaun Johnston as Jack – Amy’s and Lou’s grandfather - Chris Potter as Tim, Alisha Newton as Georgina (“Georgie”) Crawley and Graham Wardle as Ty Borden. Also in the cast are Kerry James as Caleb Odell, Gabriel Hogan as Peter Morris, Nathaniel Arcand as Scott Cardinal and Jessica Steen as Lisa Stillman. The executive producers are Michael Weinberg, Tom Cox and Jordy Randall. It is produced by SEVEN24 Films and Dynamo Film Inc.

The new season follows Ty and Amy’s pregnancy journey, but there are some bumps along the way leading into the highly-anticipated birth. Also, Mallory returns to Heartland, and Lou explores new business opportunities while holding her own as a single mom. With familiar faces returning and new paths forming, the Bartlett-Fleming family continues to flourish while overcoming obstacles along the way. They always have each other for support as they tackle many of life’s firsts together.

My take...
I am excited to see the Heartland television series return on UP! I sure hope many of you are, too! There was a great response from fans when Heartland took a hiatus on UP, before season 9 returned last fall. In this 10th new season, we will see the Bartlett family and friends take on all new challenges at the Heartland ranch - as Ty and Amy are expecting a new member of the family!

I hope you will join me in watching an all new season of Heartland when it returns April 23rd... followed by weekly showings - Sunday Nights on UP!

  3. I was glad to see this news until I saw Heartland is moving to Sunday nights. That's a jam packed night already with sports and Hallmark movies on both channels.

    1. Does Hallmark show movies on both channels on Sundays in April?

    2. Yes, well... sort of! The Hallmark Movies & Mysteries channel is typically the only one to air new movie premieres on Sunday night, unless it's a special Holiday! (Christmas, Valentine's Day, etc...)

The Hallmark Channel will continue to play encore airings of films from the Hallmark library on Sundays, until 9pm (EST) at night. Their original series, like "When Calls The Heart," air then on Sunday nights in the 9pm time slot.

So... if you are wondering if the Hallmark Channel will have new movie premieres on Sunday nights in April - then the answer is no... but, there will be several new premieres of their Spring Fling movies on Saturday nights in April - with encore airings on Sundays! Hope that helps!
