Is there anyway we can catch up with this in the UK? Would love to see it if a video could be posted somehow xx
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure if it's possible for you to see it live, but a video might be posted afterwards on Hallmark's website.
DeleteAlso, be sure to keep this post above refreshed as I will be giving updates as much as I can during the Home & Family program today and tomorrow!
Thank you Net for doing this. I have it recording while at work, but I'm going to keep a watch on your site on my phone during my many break times at show time! Thanks for keeping us all in the know! Thanks to you I don't have to wait until after work to find out all the news.
ReplyDeleteYou're welcome! It's my JOY!!! :)
DeleteThank you, Net! I can't see it today live, as I'm on my way to my appointments, but I'm watching your post today like a hawk. How often will you be posting? Sue from Florida
ReplyDeleteOh, so glad I could help. I plan to update as they introduce each new segment, even if it's unrelated - just to keep everyone in the know!!! Enjoy! And, safe travels to you as you go to each of your appointments!!! Thank you!!! :)
DeleteI originally heard it was today but then yesterday I saw a commercial where they said it was Wednesday now..any news on that?
ReplyDeleteToday for the Hallmark Channel & Tomorrow for the Hallmark Movies & Mysteries Christmas Movies!
DeleteI'm watching; I'm waiting; I'll be refreshing.....Oh, c'on, Hallmark.....more, more, more!!
ReplyDeleteThank you for joining in the fun, Linda! What did you think of the reveal?
DeleteThat's it? They hyped up unspecific details that they'd already released? I thought we'd get a complete slate of names, hopefully with premiere dates. Thanks or your efforts, Net, but whole lotta nuttin' here.
ReplyDeleteI thought they would reveal more titles, too, but Hallmark did release them all via their web-site. I have them all listed here:
Deletehttp://itsawonderfulmovie.blogspot.com/2009/09/christmas-new-tv-movies.html
I thought they'd reveal more as well, but I suppose it's a long season, and they want to divide the new info and video updates as the season moves forward, which I suppose is not a bad way to do it - that way we have things to look forward to even in the 6 weeks we have to wait between now and the first movie.. (plus there are a whole lot of other premiers, but still).
DeleteIt was a big disappointment. I too was expecting much more to be announced. I don't even think I'm going to tune in today.
DeleteAll 17 titles are listed online at: http://www.hallmarkchannel.com/christmas/sneak-preview
ReplyDeleteYes! Thank you for sharing! I saw them there, too, and added them all here!!!
DeleteSo I guess Dashing Through The Snow is now a Hallmark Channel movie? Is Hallmark Channel still going to be airing 17 new Christmas movies this year? Or has that changed?
ReplyDeleteYes, I thought they might move Debbie Macomber's Dashing Through The Snow to the Hallmark Channel, especially when I saw a commercial for HMM Christmas Movies saying they are only planning 3 New Movies on that station now. We'll see, but that's what the commercial said yesterday.
DeleteI have the complete list, here:
http://itsawonderfulmovie.blogspot.com/2009/09/christmas-new-tv-movies.html
Enjoy! :)
I loved it, Net, just wished they would have devoted at least half or even an hour towards the new Christmas movies but I'm happy we got to see some previews. I know I'm excited; I'll be checking in again tomorrow but for now I'm going to check out their website.
ReplyDeleteI was surprised to see how fast the announcement was! I was excited to see everything they showed, but like you, Linda, I wanted more!
DeleteI added in all the new movie titles here on my site, too... and with the new Hallmark Hall of Fame Movie, it looks like we have 18 new movies on the Hallmark Channel, alone!
The Hallmark Movies & Mysteries channel has been advertising they have 3 New Movies, but they had previously listed 4.... Murder She Baked - A Plum Pudding Mystery, Karen Kingsbury's The Bridge, The Christmas Note, and The Magic Stocking. So, it will be interesting to see if they promote 3 or 4 or movies tomorrow for HMM!
Thanks for the live blogging! Wasn't able to follow the broadcast so that was great!
ReplyDeleteI'm ridiculously excited about this - it's my favorite thing to wait for every year, and they are really raising the bar with extending the number of movies + having more stuff in Movies and Mysteries. Together with all their regular upcoming content they have really transformed Hallmark over the last couple years and it's great to see.
With so many new titles we still know little about except the summary, I'm also really excited to see cast reveals in the upcoming months.
For the time being, I saw they uploaded a bunch of on location videos to the website as well, so will watch that, and I'm sure more will come soon. And there are also all the new non-Christmas movies coming up!
So glad I could help you out, Shae! It was about a 5 to 7 minute segment in all, as detailed above and I'm thrilled to share in this excitement with all of you! I guess little by little we will come to learn more on each movie, with cast members, etc!!!
DeleteThank you so much for commenting!!! Yes, there are lots of new Hallmark Movies coming every Saturday!!! Enjoy!!!
Oh, it's on the Hallmark website now, marked as an 8 minute segment - the little preview part at the beginning is also up as its own video. If you add up the three new on location videos that were also uploaded today, you get a bit of a nice preview. I see a lot of refreshing and checking the website every few days in my future...
DeleteI just had to sign on to shamelessly gloat for a minute! Lol. I believe I stated in a couple of different posts on this website that I had a hunch that "Dashing Through the Snow" would end up on the regular Hallmark Channel, whereas it was originally slated for Movies & Mysteries. It may eventually go over to HMM, but it is starting out on the regular Hallmark Channel!
ReplyDeleteInterestingly, despite what one of the extras said on Reddit, the Alicia Witt movie IS for Hallmark (he had said it was a Lifetime movie). Her "Honesty Trip" movie is now called "The Truth About Christmas" (I knew the title would change if it was for Hallmark!). I remember seeing that her character's name was Holly in one of her co-stars' photos, and "Holly" is in this movie.
So, does this mean the "When Calls the Heart" Christmas movie is going to air on Movies & Mysteries? Is it absolutely positive that it IS a Christmas movie, or is it just supposed to debut during December (much like "The Ultimate Legacy")??
You absolutely deserved to gloat! I am so thrilled that you discovered this news and shared it here! I added a message to you under the movie, The Truth About Christmas. See it here:
Deletehttp://itsawonderfulmovie.blogspot.com/2015/09/hallmark-channel-movie-truth-about-christmas.html
Thank YOU! Thank YOU! :)
Sherry, I doubt that the “When Calls the Heart” Christmas movie will premiere on Movies and Mysteries. The “When Calls the Heart” show always airs on the main Hallmark Channel and not everyone subscribes to the Movies and Mysteries channel. Basically, “When Calls the Heart” has too many fans to have the movie premiere on another channel.
DeleteI am aware that the series airs on the regular Hallmark Channel, but the supposed WCTH "Christmas movie" was not announced for the Hallmark Channel nor was it posted in the list of movies on the Hallmark site. I'm still not entirely sure that it IS a Christmas movie, and not just a holiday season sneak peek at the 3rd season.
DeleteHallmark has to do things to get people to subscribe to the HMM channel, by the way -- and putting things over there that are not available on the regular channel will be one way to do that (such as "Signed, Sealed, Delivered"). It would be a smart business move for them.
You do have some really good points, Sherry. I just thought of some things that would add to the points you were talking about. When I was looking on the calendar, I realized that all 17 new Christmas movies on Hallmark Channel will premiere on every weekend in November (including Thanksgiving week) and every weekend before Christmas in December. Where does that leave room for "When Calls the Heart"? By putting the "When Calls the Heart" Christmas movie on the Movies and Mysteries channel, there would be so many release dates still available for the movie to premiere on. It would also add to Movies and Mysteries channel's very small Christmas movie line-up (which is currently at only 3 brand new movies). As I've mentioned before, not everyone subscribes to the Movies and Mysteries channel. Because of this, the chances of the "When Calls the Heart" Christmas movie being a legitimate Christmas movie (instead of a Christmas themed episode of the show) will be greater because the creators of the show might try not to include too many important storylines and details.
DeleteAfter some digging around I have uncovered some dates and actors/actresses that are starring in some of these new Hallmark Movies.
ReplyDeleteI waited three weeks for this? As grateful as I am to receive any amount of information about the new Christmas movies, I feel that Home and Family made a bigger deal out of this than they should have. The biggest disappointment, in my opinion, was the fact that the “When Calls the Heart” Christmas movie wasn’t even mentioned. The “When Calls the Heart” Christmas movie is my most anticipated Christmas movie on Hallmark Channel and to hear that it isn’t even officially a part of the Countdown to Christmas line-up is just disheartening (no pun intended). I just hope that we find out more information about it sooner rather than later.
ReplyDeleteIt shouldn't be a part of the countdown though - the countdown is its own project, and a WCTH movie, even if the event is Christmas, is part of the When Call the Heart series and is a separate thing. And it actually frees up a spot in the countdown, so we can get more countdown movies AND this.
DeleteWhen you put it that way, it makes a lot of sense. Thank you Shae for clarifying that information for me. I hope that the “When Calls the Heart” Christmas movie is a legitimate Christmas movie (as opposed to a Christmas themed episode of the show) because, as a “When Calls the Heart” fan, I not only want the movie to be good, but I also want it to be good enough to get nominated for the “It’s a Wonderful Movie” Family Movie Awards next year.
DeleteTrying to contain the excitement here! Lots to anticipate coming this year. My mother and I will be set for newbie Christmas movies with this amazing line-up in addition to the DVD releases of those we might not have seen last year. Yay for Hallmark. Cannot wait to see these fun stories. :)
ReplyDeleteThat is so sweet, Rissi! I love the anticipation of watching them all with my family, too! Hallmark has certainly spoiled us this year... it's more than I ever dreamed! I hope you enjoy many with your Mother! :)
DeleteBlessings!!! Net
Several of these movies don't have much info because they're filming now. Angel of Christmas started filming Sep. 8 in Vancouver, while both Merry Matrimony and 12 Gifts of Christmas (It’s listed as “12 Cards of Christmas”, but based on the released info I’m guessing it’s 12 Gifts now) both started production Sep. 4 in Toronto.
ReplyDeleteMerry Matrimony stars Jessica Lowndes (90210) and Jennifer Gibson, who was in Christmas parade. Lowndes posted this photo from the set on Instagram: https://instagram.com/p/7qZyqinwoE/.
Thank you for sharing the "Merry Matrimony" pic via Instagram. I added it to the movie page:
Deletehttp://itsawonderfulmovie.blogspot.com/2015/09/hallmark-christmas-movie-merry-matrimony.html
Also, I appreciate the info on "12 Cards" becoming "12 Gifts". I suspected that was the case when I previously saw "12 cards" listed.
Net -- I have more news! I solved the mystery of the movie that Jessica Harmon and Anna Van Hooft are in (previously titled "Christmas Confessions"), just a few minutes ago! I am not going to reveal it here in this post, though. I am going to go to your post about the movie, under its new name -- it IS one of the movies in the Countdown, but with a different title, as we suspected -- and reveal it there. You'll see my comment under the post for the movie. :)
ReplyDeleteThank you Sherry for sharing this news!
DeleteFor everyone curious about this... The movie "Christmas Confessions" was the working title for one of the 17 new Hallmark Christmas Movies.
We've been trying to figure out recently - which one it was?

Also, you might want to check out my new post where I reveal cast news for most of the upcoming Hallmark Christmas Movies!

In regards to Sherry's comment on putting more programs on HMM, not everyone can afford the extra $20 some dollars to switch to HMM. Some of us are on fixed incomes and all you do is alienate your viewers that made programs like SSD a success.
ReplyDeleteI don't think Sherry is promoting the idea of moving more movies to HMM. She is simply trying to figure out what Hallmark plans to do with all of these new Christmas movies.
DeleteI understand your dilemma, Anonymous... I sure wish it was possible for everyone to get both channels. It always saddens me to know SSD followers who were devoted watchers when it was on the regular Hallmark ch. - are missing out on this wonderful series now.
The Hallmark Movies & Mysteries channel does typically air movies with not only mystery, but also with more drama... That's why Sherry was guessing some movies might fit in with that format better later on. In other words, they might premiere on the regular Hallmark Ch. then later move to HMM.
Hopefully, with different tech options, these shows will become more available for viewers in the future.
Net -- Correct. I don't think that the WCTH movie will go to HMM, but it is curious as to where certain movies will end up. SSD only ran for one season on the regular Hallmark Channel, so it's not as it if had been running for years. It lasted long enough to get people interested, and some of those people have been able to follow it to HMM. Some haven't been, but others are continuing to watch it.
DeleteAlso, I live in Los Angeles (entertainment capital), right in the heart of an area with a lot of entertainment offices and major companies, and I have some idea of how the business works in this specific regard.
I'm not trying to sound insensitive -- believe me, you have no idea how much I can empathize with money woes and limited income -- but you have to understand that a TV network that is trying to build itself up is not thinking about my income, or your income, or the next person's income. All they are thinking about is how to get viewers to their channel. One thing they have to do is make sure that all/most of the cable and satellite providers carry that channel. Then they have to start loading that channel with exclusive programming that people will want to tune in for.
Not everyone has HBO, or Showtime, or even the regular Hallmark Channel -- but those channels have no problem pulling in viewers with their exclusive programming.
It does Hallmark absolutely no good as a brand (with two channels to provide programming for) to keep everything on its original channel, and it's unrealistic to think that some things that people like won't end up on Movies & Mysteries at some point. They have to put some programming on Movies & Mysteries that will get people to tune in. Some people have the income to subscribe to it, but they just haven't looked into getting it yet. Adding more exclusive programming will get those people to add HMM to their cable/satellite packages.
This year Hallmark is putting "The Christmas Ornament" and "Angels & Ornaments" on HMM. I'm not used to those movies being on that channel, but that will be the only way I can watch them in a marathon this year. Other people who don't have HMM will find out the hard way that those movies are not going to air on the regular Hallmark Channel this year, just as they have found out that "The Christmas Card" no longer airs on the regular channel and only airs on HMM. We may not like it, but that's what's happening.
So many people say to Hallmark all year long, "I wish you had a year-round Christmas channel." That kind of a channel is a very specific niche market, and a lot of cable/satellite providers wouldn't carry it -- BUT if they did carry it, guess what would happen? There would be an extra charge to subscribe to it. It wouldn't be offered for free, and eventually Hallmark would probably start airing some things on that hypothetical year-round Christmas channel only, as well as debuting some things on that channel that don't debut anywhere else. People would probably have to pay extra to have that channel that they want, and some people will also be willing or able to pay extra for Movies & Mysteries.
