Movie Review:

Hallmark Channel’s “Northpole: Open for Christmas” will open your heart once again to all the magic and wonder of Christmas!

Starring in the 2nd film in the “Northpole” franchise: “Northpole: Open for Christmas”, is very likable Bailee Madison (of Hallmark’s “Pete’s Christmas”, “Smart Cookies”, etc...), who returns once again in the role of the ever refreshingly cheery, Elf Clementine, whose continuous Holiday mission is to spread the joy of Christmas wherever she goes!

Lori Loughlin (fan favorite from “When Calls the Heart”, “Garage Sale Mystery”, “Full House”, etc…) stars as Mackenzie Warren, a smart, driven estate appraiser for Carlisle’s Auction House in New York, on the fast track to climbing the business ladder, all the while not taking the time to live in one place for more than a year, or developing any lasting friendships, nor simply stopping to look at the snowflakes!

With a little help from Northpole, Santa, Clementine, and other undercover Elfs… things are about to change for Mackenzie, when she returns to the small town, where her Aunt Grace has left her the magical Northern Lights Inn she used to love visiting at Christmastime, as a child.

As a curator, Mackenzie is not used to developing any lasting sentimental attachment to ornate objects, so her plan is to visit the inn, access its value, and basically cut and run. At the realtor’s office, however, she meets Ian, (portrayed by actor Dermot Mulroney, My Best Friend's Wedding) a local handyman, who is immediately taken by Mackenzie’s knowledge of carpentry tools. He convinces Mackenzie to at least consider looking the place over before signing her name on the dotted line, and placing the Inn up for sale.

Persuaded, after all, to look the place over, Mackenzie sees the Inn once again, first through the eyes of her childhood... like nothing has ever changed, until reality sinks in, she looks closer and sees all the damage of years of it being left un-kept have done to the dear old place.

Will she cut her losses and return to her lonely life in the city, or will she turn to old and new friends… and find a practical, yet magical way to make it work?

“Northpole: Open for Christmas” is a delightful family adventure, an enchanting journey you will certainly not want to miss!!!

A sweet reminder to enjoy life, and stop and look at the snowflakes… because no 2 are alike!

See or Skip?:

'NORTHPOLE: Open for Christmas' is a Must See!!!

In the beginning... when she was appraising furniture and other household items, I couldn’t help from thinking of Lori Loughlin as the “Garage Sale Mystery” woman, but that thought quickly fades as her character becomes less involved with appraisal work, and more involved in life at the Inn and building relationships with the people there.

Casting...
Lori was certainly aptly casted in this strong, independent role, well known actor Dermot Mulroney was a refreshing new face for Hallmark, young actress Ava Telek (who was also in "Signed, Sealed, Delivered for Christmas") was a delightful sweet addition, while Bailee Madison was, once again, a joy to watch as Elf Clementine!

I hope you will also enjoy this *Dazzy* new 'Northpole' adventure!

  9. Loved your review, Net. I'm such a fan of Lori & Bailee, but wasn't sure about the whole Northpole story, until your review. Funny about Lori being like her character Jennifer Shannon in Garage Sale Mystery. Your review completely won me over!

  10. Can't wait to watch Northpole 2 tonight! I goggled Ava Telek, she is April Telek's daughter (April was in Love at The Thanksgiving Parade, she played Autumn Reeser's assistant) and Donovan Scott, he played Santa in Matchmaker Santa, and I looked up his credits on IMDB, he has played Santa many times.

    1. Yes, Ava is April Telek's daughter! And, such a cutie!!! They were both in last years "Signed, Sealed, Delivered for Christmas"! Ava is the little girl in the nativity pageant and April is the one who greets the SSD team at the hospital's front desk!

And, Yes... Donovan Scott AKA Santa is the one from Matchmaker Santa and The Santa Switch. If you look close in the commercial where they show all the Hallmark stars: Candace Cameron Bure, Lori Loughlin, Bailee Madison, Danica McKellar, etc... with his picture it sweetly says Santa! I love it! Hallmark knows how to make it so much fun! :)

Thank you for sharing these fun details, Jill!!!
