πŸ’ Celebrate Mother’s Day Weekend with Movies, Mysteries, and the Must-See "When Hope Calls: Brookfield" Finale

( images: Great American Media / edit: itsawonderfulmovie.com )

Happy Mother's Day Weekend, Friends!

To all the wonderful mommas, grandmothers, and mother figures out there- thank you for the love, wisdom, and care you give so selflessly. Wishing you all a beautiful, joy-filled, and very Happy Mother’s Day!

If you'd like to watch something special with your family on Mother's Day, the "When Hope Calls: Brookfield" finale episode airs this Sunday night on Great American Family! After a season filled with tender moments, quiet longing, and a few unexpected surprises, all eyes are on Brookfield as some of our favorite stories reach what could be life-changing turning points. Will Mountie Michael and Nora finally find the courage to speak the feelings that have been building between them, or will Michael’s duty as a Mountie pull him away from Brookfield just when love seems within reach? And for Hannah and Wyatt or Sam and Maggie, what lies ahead for them... romance, heartache, or perhaps a little drama before the credits roll? However it unfolds, this finale promises plenty of heart, hope, and maybe even a few surprises along the way.

There's also a new Hallmark Channel movie, All’s Fair in Love & Mahjong, premiering this Saturday. I wanted to note that the film has faced a bit of backlash from some critics for focusing the story on a traditional Chinese game while featuring only one actress of Asian heritage in a supporting role. I would love to know what you all think. I'm not personally familiar with the game, but I know it is currently quite popular among people of all colors and ethnic backgrounds across the country. Please share your thoughts, and if you plan to watch in comments below.

Keep scrolling for more details on these new premieres and more...

I hope you all have a lovely weekend!

As we celebrate Mother’s Day, my heart is especially full of gratitude for my own incredible momma. She is beautiful inside and out, with a heart that is always loving, caring, and devoted to her family. I feel truly blessed by the constant love, strength, and kindness she pours into our lives each and every day. One of the things I admire most is her faithful walk with the Lord... she is a blessing, an inspiration, and a steady source of love in my life, and I am beyond thankful for her!!!!

And, as always... if you have the chance to watch the new movie or the finale episode of When Hope Calls: Brookfield this weekend, we'd love to hear your review!

Blessings to you all,
Net

  8. Happy Mothers Day to all the moms here in our IAWM family πŸ’•We went to church, got coffee & I don’t have to cook dinner tonight so that’s enough for me 😊 Hope all of you moms can relax, spend time with loved ones, and if your loved ones are in Heaven, praying for you today. We have a dear friend who just lost his mom on Tuesday and I can’t even imagine… life is so busy but trying to cherish the time I have with my mom and mother in law 😊

    1. Paula, Thank you for your beautiful comment. I also can't imagine what your friend is going through. That's heartbreaking any time, of course, but especially hard so near Mother's Day. I just heard that Tyler Hynes lost his father at the end of April. My heart & prayers go out to them for their incredible loss.

You are so right, Paula, we must always cherish our special time with our family.

  9. When Hope Calls: Brookfield - Season 4 Coming Soon

I wonder it's after County Rescue: Season 3
    Probably, in June 2026

    1. Unfortunately, it's a longer wait. When Hope Calls: Brookfield - Season 4 hasn't been filmed, yet. The series won't return until next year... Spring 2027. I wish it could be sooner, but that's the typical wait between seasons for most shows on Great American Family and Hallmark.

After County Rescue airs, Crossroad Springs Season 2 will be the next series to air on GAF.

  11. I watched Blue Skies, up to episode 6, and I AM HOOKED. I am so glad there is a season 2 coming. Its so good, the characters we are learning about, and Blue. I am not the biggest fan of dogs (more of a cat person) but I just adore Blue and Jodie's relationship with Blue. I love all the characters she works with, her dad, and the hunky guy running the coffee place. I will say the mysteries are pretty easy to figure out, but there are always a few surprises. Lots of hallmark actors and actresses as the extra characters. Such a great show and so happy I started watching this weekend. There is one big mystery and I still have a few episodes left, but I am glad there are other plots going on and then the weekly crimes. Bravo to Blue Skies!!!

    1. Sabrina, I'm up to episode 4 of Blue Skies with the zip-lining "accident" - and really enjoying the whole series, too. Such a great cast! I think it's cute how that one guy calls Jodi by the nickname, Military. It's been interesting to see how he has warmed up to her.

But I hope we eventually see Jodi and Ryan together - since they have a history.

Michael prepares to leave Brookfield for a new Mountie assignment

  14. Hi!

First off, let me say I hope all mama's had a wonderful Mother's Day! Mine was special. Low-key but meaningful which is how I like it. :-)
My daughter, who lives out of state, sent me a couple of sweet gifts. I had a lovely dinner with my son and husband. Unfortunately, both my sweet mama and my mother-in-law are with God, so I remembered them with prayers and thanked them both for being such wonderful and amazing role models for me. :-)

Now, onto my movie and show reviews.

"All's Fair in Love and Mahjong" - I have to admit, this little movie surprised me. I adored the friendship, between the four women, so much. Their relationship felt lived-in and authentic. I thought Fiona and Paul had really nice chemistry. I didn't learn much about Mahjong but we did enjoy the movie.

"Sugarcreek Amish Mysteries" - Net, you were absolutely correct in your post about Episode 3. Hands down, the best episode so far. I am such a fan of Galadriel. She is such a joy to watch. And, the way she looks at the character of Levi (Kevin) who is her husband in real life, just melts my heart. Kevin looks at her the same way. Galadriel is a KY girl! She was born here, but moved away, and has since bought a home here with her husband and her beautiful children. They split their time between LA and Kentucky but spend most of their time in my home state. Anyway, we are really enjoying the series so far.

"When Hope Calls Brookfield" - We also enjoy this series but sometimes the story lines drag a bit for us. Cindy Busby has been sensational this season. However, I don't feel that she and Christopher have the best chemistry. A little is there but I expected there to be more. However, we absolutely LOVE Maggie and Sam! I don't want to spoil anything for those who haven't watched the Season 3 finale yet, but suffice it to say, their last scene together made my heart soar and my husband cry tears of joy! :-) They are magic together and their relationship is so realistic. Wyatt really stepped up and did a noble thing which was great! Poor Tess is being treated quite unfairly. I don't like the way she handled things but in the long run she did what is best for the community. There are many stories left to tell, so we are so glad the show has been renewed for another season because we want to spend more time with these people! :-)
