Interesting news from Hallmark! Earlier this week, it was revealed that Hallmark would be scaling back on their unscripted series, which the network refers to as "reality TV with heart."
This news originated from an article from RealScreen, which shared that Hallmark plans to focus on a "limited number of specials and limited series at impactful times throughout the year, versus a full concurrent slate."
Viewers are, of course, mixed on the topic. Some viewers enjoy these heartfelt, real-life stories, while others tune in primarily for Hallmark’s beloved movies.
Well, interestingly enough, yesterday another brand-new unscripted Hallmark series was announced via People: "Erin Cahill Is Ready to Bring the Joy to Mother-Daughter Duos as She Hosts Hallmark's New Wedding Show."
People revealed in their article that Erin Cahill (Love, Fall, & Order, A Timeless Christmas, Christmas at the Catnip Café) will "host the limited, six-episode unscripted series Mom's the Bride (working title), and this new show is set to premiere in May on Hallmark+." (Hallmark's streaming platform)
Also, according to People, "Each episode will follow an adult woman as she plans her mother's dream wedding — with a little help from Cahill and Hallmark. The series will flip the script on the traditional “mother of the bride” role and honor the mother-daughter bond."
So... what do you think, Hallmark+ streamers? Will you be tuning in for this new unscripted wedding series?
Have a Blessed Day,

Just get rid of all these reality shows. No one is watching them, and judging by how very few of these have even been renewed, it definitely shows how little Hallmark cares about them. -Maria
ReplyDeleteI have zero desire for their reality tv shows! I haven’t watched any so far and don’t see that changing anytime soon. I may be in the minority as I rarely watch reality tv except for a few from HGTV but it’s just not what I want to see from Hallmark. I would much rather see them come up with new mystery movies and more movies like their pre-2020 movies. While I’ve liked a few of their more recent ones, off the top of my head I haven’t seen any recent ones that feel as good as their old movies!
ReplyDeleteI totally agree with you, Sarah! I do not care for any reality TV shows (because how "real" are they really?!), and I prefer many more of the pre-2020 movies than the post-2019 ones.
DeleteI feel the same way Sarah. And those were the best movies and mysteries (before 2020). I wish Hallmark would focus on that instead of reality shows.
DeleteSounds nice, but I prefer movies.
ReplyDeleteNo interest in reality shows, Stick to movies and mysteries.
ReplyDeleteThis sounds lovely.
ReplyDeleteDon't care for reality shows either. Hoping for Mistletoe Murders to be renewed for a new season. Personally, I think it's one of their best shows in a while. Hope they put Finnish Line on a single dvd with the whole show and not a deleted 8-10 minute scene. Why would you do that.
