Movie Review:
🎄 Christmas in Big Sky Country. I rather enjoyed this predictable little movie. It was comfortable and satisfying, even though sometimes hokey. There wasn’t a huge amount of romantic chemistry but I thought all the actors did a decent job (in fact I kind of think it might be the best movie the two leads have each done?). It was the same old, same old plotline, and it’s not going to win any awards and I’m not even sure it was all that Christmassy, but there was just enough drama and uniqueness and family sweetness to make it stand out a little bit and be worth watching in a sea of Christmas-movie sameness. Loved the yarn shop; and the family patriarch, who is a sheep farmer, and has lots of silly Dad puns. Family friendly. {I watched this as part of a 3-movie dvd collection that I bought through Net’s affiliation with Amazon. All three movies are good so it was worth the purchase. “Christmas in Maple Hills”, “Christmas with the Knightleys” and this one.} ~~Jane

🎄 Christmas with the Knightlys - What a cute little movie! Sweet, romantic, funny. Most all of the actors were new to me and they all did a good job. Family friendly. Glad I own the dvd so I can watch this again sometime. ~~Jane

I’d love to know which movies you are most excited to watch this year?
Personally, I can’t wait to see many of these, including Saving the Christmas Ranch and A Christmas in Amish Country. The first stars Jonathan Stoddard (who many of you know and love from the "Crossroad Springs" series), and the latter features Ella Cannon and Jason Tobias, who were charming together in the UPtv movie, A Wedding for Belle.
Some of you may spot a few familiar titles that have already found their way to DVD or streaming, like Christmas in Big Sky Country and Christmas with the Knightlys. I’ve shared Jane’s delightful reviews of these films above, and after reading her thoughts on these movies again, I’m even more excited to watch them myself! Saving the Christmas Ranch sounds so cute! Saving a failing business in 2 days? No problem for a classic Christmas movie and I’m here for it😂 It kind of reminds me of Christmas A La Mode from Lifetime, which was super cute. Christmas in Big Sky Country looks great too, excited to see it because I missed it when it originally aired. The mystery one hmmm maybe…..I tried to watch another mystery one from UPtv last Christmas with Vivica A Fox and a group of unknown actors….i could not get past 15 min, the actors & quality of production was so bad. Overall some good ones in here I’m excited to see!

Seeing Joey Lawrence makes me feel like a kid again. I grew up watching him on Blossom and the show with his brothers.
ReplyDeleteI'm pretty happy with the new UP Christmas Movies - a few of them I had on my list of movies I wanted to see and would probably have had to scan the fast Streamers to see if were airing.
ReplyDeleteSadly in a Royal Christmas Hope with Jenna Michno whom I really liked in Stepping Into Love the female lead has been married previously so that's one off my list.
Saving The Christmas Ranch looks the pick of the bunch to me - I do like Jonathan Stoddard - there are another 4 Christmas titles out there he is in which have haven't been picked up yet.
I see they are splitting The Christmas Season over Saturday nights beginning 29 November probably 4 1 hourly episodes - I just wish they had aired 4 new movies!
The 2 movies which previously aired on Fox Nation are in my opinion both pretty good (in fact the third of the trio, Christmas In Maple Hills is probably the best if the three).
I don't know whether Jane reads all the posts but greetings and I hope you are well.
I am just snowed under and have no time to write reviews now so maybe you are in the same position but I do miss yours - they generally had me in stitches and about 90% of the time we agreed on the merits of a particular movie!
With regard to Nicely titles there's really only GAF and Lifetime of the Cable channels who might pick up their movies and I can't see them taking more than a handful each so it's looking as if they will have a good number not taken up.
Although the former ROE has pulled out of the Christmas market (and devastatingly Rom.Coms) Lifetime may possibly have a few of their titles pre-2024 which were released internationally but not in the US.
Anyway I think this is a good contribution to the Christmas Season by UP - Florence
