SHINING HIS LIGHT:

“From the rising of the sun
to the place where it sets,
The Lord’s name is to be praised.”
~Psalm 113:3

This inspiring scripture reminds us to keep our hearts and minds focused on the Lord throughout the day. When we center our thoughts on Him, our perspective becomes clearer, and we begin to see our day and the people around us in a more positive light!

  2. I love your Christmas in July poem, Net! (How long did it take you to think that up??!) That put one big smile on my face!

So many great Christmas classics to kick off our Christmas in July! I'm not sure which ones I'm going to be watching yet, but I have a feeling my TV is not going to get much rest this weekend! And, since I am a Rhiannon Fish fan, I have to find time to watch her new movie too! Oh well, it's too hot and humid to do much outside anyway.

    1. Mark, Oh, thank you! I’m really glad you liked the poem. I tend to write pretty quickly. I've actually put together a few fun songs for family events, usually by adapting the lyrics of popular songs to fit the occasion, and luckily, the ideas tend to come when I need them.

Anyway, that pleases me so much that this poem put a smile on your face!!! 😊😊😊

You're so right... we have lots of wonderful Christmas in July options this weekend... enjoy and keep cool!!! :)

  4. While watching "Once Upon a Christmas Wish" tonight on Great American Family, I noticed at the bottom of the TV screen this message: "Original Movies Premieres Coming Soon! Starting August 9"

So hopefully... there are some great movies on the way! :)

    1. Sorry to be cynical, Net but how often have we heard this before and the movie has been aired elsewhere before? - hopefully not the case.

I'm actually furious with both GAF and Hallmark, it looks as if there isn't even one brand new Christmas movie on either channel in July - Florence

    3. What's it matter? Not everyone watches movies on streaming services months before they ever air. -Maria

    4. Florence, I hear ya! I don't think you're being cynical... you're just being realistic. And my mind already went there, too.

I'm actually wondering if three of the movies will be the ones I recently mentioned in my Coming to Pure Flix this Summer post.

The first movie was The Wedding Arrangement (initially from ROE) and the other two are As Gouda as it Gets and One of a Kind Love (from Incendo Productions). And yes, as I'm sure you know, all three have streamed or aired elsewhere.

I agree... it is disappointing that neither GAF or Hallmark had a brand new Christmas movie for July. I was hoping GAF might surprise us with something new, but that’s starting to look unlikely.

Hopefully, we'll still see lots of exciting previews and announcements for the upcoming holiday season!

    5. Also, Florence...

I meant to add - two other movies would likely be Grounded in Love and Ainsley McGregor: A Case for the Yarn Maker. (though you probably already know this, since you’re always up to date on the movie news - but just wanted to mention in case others didn't know)

Of course, Ainsley has already been seen by Pure Flix subscribers, but both are new for Great American Family.

Hopefully, there will be other new movie premieres, too! :)

  7. Movie Review...

    A Wedding for Belle –
(By the way, this movie is encoring this weekend on UPtv.)

I really enjoyed this sweet romantic comedy from Nicely Entertainment that premiered on UPtv. Yes, it follows the familiar rom-com setup… Annabelle, a city girl, returns to her small country hometown and rekindles a spark with her former boyfriend, Lucas, who she’s known since they were children.

Meanwhile, her fiancΓ©, Matthew, seems nice, but he’s half-hearted about their relationship. In contrast, there’s something genuinely compelling about the deep connection between Annabelle (Belle) and Lucas that instantly pulled me in.

Matthew isn’t just wrong for Belle, his mother, Patricia, is also Belle’s boss at a bridal magazine. Patricia quickly takes over the wedding planning, pushing for an earlier date to help her business and turning into a classic “momzilla.”

A few notes of caution: Belle’s assistant occasionally drinks wine when stressed (calling it “juice”), and when Belle arrives at her mom’s house, her mom jumps to conclusions- thinking she’s announcing a breakup or baby. Actually, Belle’s there to plan her hometown wedding.

A few more cautions... When Matthew (the groom) arrives, he mentions having a hotel room for the two of them, but Belle’s mom insists they shouldn’t stay together before the wedding. Belle initially interjects and says that’s the night before, but nothing more is said and she stays at her mother’s home. Also, later on Matthew drinks beer and lets a few secrets slip.

All in all, despite some familiar storylines and cautions, this was a cozy, feel-good rom-com with small-town charm and a down-home warm feeling. ~Net
