If you'd like to take another slice at solving a mystery, then you'll want to see "Pie to Die For: A Hannah Swensen Mystery" this June!
In addition to introducing a new mystery, Hallmark has shifted its premiere back to Sunday nights. And in case you were wondering... yes, it will debut on both the Hallmark Channel and Hallmark Mystery!
And while Hallmark has added this new "Hannah Swensen Mystery" premiere in June, the network has removed the premiere date for "Mystery Island: Play for Keeps" on the Hallmark Channel and Hallmark Mystery websites. (Currently, the press site is still showing the June premiere date for "Mystery Island," but I believe the page hasn't been updated yet.)
Details for "Pie to Die For: A Hannah Swensen Mystery"...
Storyline: When Hannah's customer and Delores' theater rival is murdered, Hannah must find her killer in order to save her mother's reputation. Chad and Hannah's romance blossoms.
Starring: Alison Sweeney, Victor Webster, and Barbara Niven
Premiere Date: Sunday, June 22 at 8pm/7c
What do you think? Is it a good idea for mystery movies to air on Sunday nights again (instead of Thursdays) on both Hallmark Mystery and the Hallmark Channel?
I've been wondering for a while, and there's some speculation spreading around that Hallmark may end the Hallmark Mystery channel, especially since the network is now simulcasting the mystery premieres on both Hallmark Mystery and the leading Hallmark Channel. What do you think, sleuthers? Please share your thoughts in comments below.
Happy Sleuthing!

The Hallmark Mystery channel had Christmas movies planned for that whole weekend (June 21 & 22nd) ..."Mystery on Mistletoe Lane" was scheduled for 8pm on the 22nd. I guess they are altering that schedule now. Also, I hadn't heard about The Mystery Channel maybe going away. That's big news.
ReplyDeleteIts sad cause it used to be Gold Crown Christmas week on the mystery channel. Now it is a few hours 2 days and thats all. I liked that channel cause we got to see older Christmas movies. Oh well :( :(

I wouldn't be surprised if Hallmark eliminates the Mystery channel, especially since they are upping the number of premiers on their Hallmark+ channel. Still, because so many Christmas movies premiered on the Mystery channel in the past, I wonder if more - a lot more - will now premier on their regular and streaming channels, or if there will be fewer Christmas movies premiering this year (which may not be a bad thing, if the quality goes up). Have we heard yet what the total number of Christmas movies premiering this year will be on Hallmark or GAF?
ReplyDeletehaven't Hallmark already announced they are maintaining 49 movies on their main channel? - Florence
DeleteSorry typo - 40 not 49
DeleteThursday nights were never good for new premieres. Thats just my opinion. Christie
ReplyDeleteIt doesn't appear that this one will be simulcast. That definitely gives indications of moving all new content to HC. H Mystery is airing Christmas movies that day & like Mark said, Mystery on ML is scheduled at 8 for the Mystery channel. (Merry Mystery week?). Wondering if the other two channels will be sold off or sell off Family which performs so low & keep Mystery for reruns including holiday but all new premieres go to HC to lift numbers now that cable continues to bring in lower viewing (sadly). -Megan
ReplyDeleteOh no, I hadn’t heard that they will possibly eliminate the Hallmark Mystery channel….I look forward to the heartfelt movies that are replayed on that channel and Hallmark Family. I hope this doesn’t mean if they eliminate it, less mystery movies for us sleuthers….As for the premiere date, it honestly doesn’t matter to me. I don’t understand how people get in such a huff about that Lol, with as busy as everyone is these days I don’t think it matters what day a movie is premiered. You can always record it or catch it when it replays if it doesn’t work with your schedule. That’s what I do and everyone I talk to like family and friends do the same, if they miss the premier they just record it or catch it when it replays as most new movies replay. But I am excited for the new Hannah movie, I’ll take any new mystery movie!

Thursdays don't work for me for a movie night.
ReplyDeleteI think Hannah’s mom’s reputation was in question since the first movie. I don’t know what to think yet about this one. The last one was so bad, I should have taken Joan’s advice and skip. I would however be interested if she was paired with Norman.
ReplyDeleteWhen does that Mistletoe Mystery series come out for S2?
ReplyDeleteI always thought the best Christmas movies were on the mystery channel. They had more depth to them. I’ll be sad to see that go.
ReplyDeleteThis is the first time I’m hearing about this. Hallmark must be loosing a lot of money to do this. They really went downhill when they embraced non family friendly. I’m glad I get H+ for free on hoopla, otherwise I would not pay them except for buying WCTH or SSD on dvd.
I love the Sunday mystery premieres! And I would not be surprised if they do away with the Hallmark Mystery Channel in order to invest more in Hallmark+.
ReplyDeleteI'm with ALL of you who would miss Hallmark Mystery, especially Miracles of Christmas, IF the channel should eventually go. Of course, it's all just speculation for now, but it is very curious to see more and more mysteries premiere on the Hallmark Channel.
ReplyDeleteI have 2 possibilities for having mysteries also on the Hallmark Channel. Perhaps, they are just trying to determine how much numbers go up when they show HM movies on both and will then determine how many HM movies to broadcast on HC and when. However, I agree that they probably will eliminate HM and HF. I don’t have either of those 2 networks as that would cost more money each month. I am thinking that if they eliminate those 2 from cable, they think that everyone will spend the extra money on +, probably costing about as much as the extra cable networks did. Of course, this is assuming that people who have a more expensive cable package have it only for Hallmark networks which I think is unlikely, so + will be an extra expense. Do you think Roku Frndly will be allowed to broadcast Hallmark for the long-term? I doubt it after Hallmark removed their networks from Peacock. I hope that + will still be available for free on hoopla. I also hope that Hallmark content will remain free on the Halkmark Movies and More Network via streaming services such as Xumo Play and for those with cable, I hope that Hallmark TV blue app will still be available. I doubt it considering that it doesn’t cost anything beyond cable, and they are trying to get people to subscribe to +.: Does anyone know if this app which serves as the network’s TV Everywhere can even become defunct. I mean there is Discovery +, and they still have TV Everywhere on their individual apps.
