GREAT AMERICAN FAMILY
ANNOUNCES PRODUCTION WRAP ON
‘A CHRISTMAS LESS TRAVELED,’
STARRING
CANDACE CAMERON BURE
AND ERIC JOHNSON,
PART OF
GREAT AMERICAN CHRISTMAS
2024
NEW YORK, NY – April 15, 2024 – Great American Family announced it has completed production on what is sure to be one of the most anticipated new holiday films of the season – A Christmas Less Traveled, starring Candace Cameron Bure (My Christmas Hero, A Christmas Present) and Eric Johnson (Call Me Mrs. Miracle, “Flash Gordon”) which premieres this November as part of Great American Christmas 2024.
In A Christmas Less Traveled, “The Dine and Dash” diner has a stack of mounting unpaid bills, forcing its owner, Desi (Bure) to sell her beloved, mint condition, cherry red 1964 Ford F-100, a gift from her deceased father. As Desi visits the vintage truck one last time, she discovers a recorded message from her dad on an old audio cassette. Desi’s Dad’s voice sends her and “Old Red” out to retrace her family’s most memorable moments one last time. Just as the journey begins, Desi meets Greyson (Johnson) who offers her a generous payment in exchange for a ride to “close the most important deal” of his life. Little do Desi and Greyson realize the less traveled road will reveal more about each of them than they could have ever known.
“Filmmakers have been inspired by road trips for as long as movies have been made,” said Bill Abbott, President & CEO, Great American Media. “In A Christmas Less Traveled, viewers will go on a scenic journey with our characters to celebrate Christmas in communities and with acquaintances, treasuring every heartfelt moment of discovery or remembrance in a vintage vehicle that seems to magically know all the right places to stop,” Abbott concluded.
“A Christmas Less Travelled gently challenges us to truly embrace every moment we share with our families, friends and loved ones. It reminds us that forgiving ourselves and others is the pathway to set ourselves free,” added Executive producer and CandyRock Entertainment CEO Candace Cameron Bure.
A Christmas Less Travelled is a Syrup Studios production in association with Candy Rock Entertainment being presented on Great American Family network under the Candace Cameron Bure presents banner. Costa Vassos Produces and Heather Hawthorn-Doyle directs a screenplay by Masey McClain, Justin D. James & Taylor Kalupa. Executive producers include Candace Cameron Bure, Jeffery Brooks, Ford Englerth, Eric Jarboe, Holly A. Hines, Gerald Webb, Heather Hawthorn-Doyle, and Trevor McWhinney. Supervising producers include Catherine Kretz, Michael Shepard, and Jonathan Shore with Doran S. Chandler and Trudi Thorwaldson as Associate producers.

My Quick Take:
I'm already loving the look of Candace's new movie, and I can't wait to go on this adventure with her and Eric Johnson, who I'm sooo glad to see is making movies again. Love him already in Call Me Mrs. Miracle, and I'm sure A Christmas Less Traveled will be another favorite!

Oh this one sounds really good. The storyline sounds intriguing. And, Candace only picks projects that honestly are wholesome and speak from the heart. I am excited about her pairing with Eric. Any movie with a nod to nostalgia and family are a winning combo for me. I am definitely looking forward to this one.
ReplyDeleteHi Jim,
DeleteI too love to go down Christmas memory lane. Growing up, my family did not have a lot of money but my parents always made Christmas special. Also, we spent Christmas Eve with my 'city grandparents' before heading to Christmas Eve service. Then on Christmas morning, after spending time as a family, we would head to the country to visit my 'country grandparents'. Whenever I recall Christmas past, I smile. Sounds like you and I are on the same page. :-)
Joan, it was same for me. Growing up, we didn't have much money either but my parents made it so Christmas was still so special to the point that it made me have this deep deep love for the Christmas season to this day. They made that time of year seem so magical. Like it was in another dimension type feeling. There was a palpable feeling in that timeframe distinct from the rest of the year. I loved hearing about your Christmas family traditions.
DeleteOkay, please don’t get me wrong, I like Candace’s faith movies and all, but it’s nice to see her do a movie that’s just lighthearted too, which leaves me wondering if anyone else will fill that faith based movie void this year? Maybe Danica, Jen Lilley, or Laura Osnes?
ReplyDeleteSounds great! -Maria
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to another great movie with CCB. GAF just gets better at presenting superb movies.

Before A Christmas Less Traveled debuts in November, Bure will return to the network to headline another movie: The Ainsley McGregor Mysteries: A Case for the Winemaker, which is slated to premiere in September.
ReplyDeleteI am so looking forward to this one! I know it’s been done 100 times but these ones about the diner, bakery, family general store that is about to be lost, combined with the small town are so christmasy to me and I love them. Excited for this pairing of actors too!

sounds fantastic. love a road trip story.
ReplyDeleteI am beginning to think the only movies this network cares about are Christmas movies. Yes they did announce that Candace’s has a mystery coming and in the announcement for this movie Great American Family they said it will air in September. The movie was filmed before Christmas last year so I do not understand why it is taking so long to get it on air. I read a comment from someone that editing takes while. If that is true why did they get Just in Time on air quickly since it was filmed in January. I also do not think the movies will be back before if they are doing Christmas in July. My channel guide is updated to the first week in May with the same lineup that is airing now. I have been with this network since the beginning but this year is the worst ever. Sorry but I will not watch programming that is older than me.
ReplyDeleteThese types of movies reach deep into my heart and I'm glad to see Candace continues to make them on GAF (she had some really good heartfelt ones on Hallmark too). We need to be reminded every day to live life and enjoy it, make memories or relive them with those we have lost along the way. This will be a definite watch for me and I'm so glad Eric is in it too as I've been waiting for him to come back to these channels/movies. Valentine Ever After is one of my all-time favorite movies with him as a lead. Excited for this movie but won't rush my mindset as we need to slow down and enjoy the time until Christmas season.
ReplyDeleteLove Finds You in Charm
ReplyDeleteStarring Trevor Donovan
Available Now Executively on Great American PureFlix
I absolutely hate anything post, comment having to do with pure Flix, many of us can not afford it
DeleteThe Amish film "Love Finds You in Charm" also recently aired on UPtv; however, it's nice to see this movie is also airing on Great American Pure Flix. Trevor Donovan and Danielle C. Ryan are such a wonderful on-screen pairing. :)
DeleteLove Finds You in Charm is a 2015 movies that originally aired on Uptv. So they can acquire movies to air on Great American Pure Flix but leave their Great American Family viewers with Columbo, Murder She Wrote and Perry Mason. Good to know who they value more certainly not their Great American Family viewers.
Delete"Love Finds You in Charm" is one of my favorite movies. :-) I do agree Trevor and Danielle are a wonderful on-screen pairing. I also really like Danielle and Trevor together in "Runaway Romance". That movie can be 'tedious' to watch in parts because I think Tatum overacts but I enjoy their sweet romance and her friendship with Sarah as well as the filming locations. Of course, I am biased because it was filmed in my home state. :-)
DeleteDon't forget that GAC is also releasing the mystery movie with Candace.
