UPtv MARCH 2024 PREMIERE TITLES
THE SINGLE’S GUIDEBOOK
SUNDAY, MARCH 3 AT 7:00PM ET
Molly, a talented, scrupulous content creator, gets a surprise assignment to chronicle her newfound singlehood. But when she’s paired with Jackson-her polar opposite-will she learn to stand on her own two feet, or will love get in the way?
Movie Reviews:
🌼 I've only seen The Single's Guidebook which I think was on Paramount +.
It's a good while ago but I can't remember anything unsavoury in it although don't take that as gospel.
It hasn't received very good reviews but I didn't think it was that bad - I quite like the two leads together although the connection wasn't there at times.
The lighting was quite dark and being ROE the background music was unnecessarily intrusive at times.
Nothing groundbreaking but fair enough for a one-time watch. ~Florence's rating 6
🌼 The Single's Guidebook is so delightful! –Maria
A ROYAL MAKEOVER
SUNDAY, MARCH 10 AT 7:00PM ET
When all-American Ramone discovers he is the heir to the European Kingdom of San Pablo, he is daunted by the prospect of becoming king. To prepare him for his royal duties, King Felipe hires royal expert Angelica to show Ramone the ropes on how a king is expected to behave for the coronation ceremony. Through lessons in history, etiquette, fine dining and even Spanish, Angelica transforms Ramone into the king he is destined to be. And maybe he found his queen in the process.
MOVIE REVIEW:
🌼 A Royal Makeover is so amazing!! (just ignore Angelica's grandma, who likes tarrot cards and reading tea leaves). -Maria
🌼 A Royal Makeover
I've seen some poor ROE movies but this takes the biscuit.
I do say you have to suspend reality when watching Rom.Coms sometime but this is utter bunkum.
Preposterous story line, a surly goofball of a hero, poor acting - you name it.
Florence's rating 1 - a complete waste of time
SWEETLY SALTED
SUNDAY, MARCH 17 AT 7:00PM ET
Alison remains notoriously anonymous when critiquing restaurants. But when she accidentally goes viral for trashing a new restaurant, her editor insists she make amends by going undercover as a prep cook for the chef she maligned.
MOVIE REVIEWS:
🌼 Sweetly Salted
MAY CONTAIN MILD SPOILERS
A superior ROE movie.
Quite surprised to see Lainie McAuley here I usually associate her in movies with a musical theme.
The plot is a bit far-fetched - it's daft that someone would employ someone with apparently no experience to be a sous-chef but the acting is above par and and the chemistry between the two leads is excellent.
The scenes in the restaurant kitchen are realistic and fun and overall it's an entertaining yarn even if movies with a food theme are too prevalent now.
🌼 Well worth a watch though. ~ Florence's rating 7
🌼 My husband and I enjoyed "Sweetly Salted" but the same can't be said for "Crimes of Fashion"! Seriously the story line was absurd. Yes, Brooke's career choice is actually a real job and yes I looked it up because I thought there was no way it was real. Anyway, we thought the movie was absolutely atrocious. I was extremely disappointed. We ended up turning the movie off early so I am glad we missed the rat scene. EW! ~Joan
🌼 Sweetly Salted was pretty good. -Maria

Writing a Love Song
SUNDAY, MARCH 31 AT 7:00PM ET
Starring Nina Kiri, Connor McMahon, Britt McRae, Lauren Howe, Kent Sheridan
Aspiring music producer Chloe Brandon puts her career on the line by promising a hit song to the record label from Dustin Miller, a once-successful country musician with writer's block, while keeping it all a secret from her boss. Can a blossoming romance inspire the hit love song they both need?
Movie Reviews:
🌼 Writing a Love Song is FANTASTIC!! –Maria
🌼 UPtv’s “Writing a Love Song” is family-friendly and packed with lots of traditional country music and a talented cast. The chemistry between Nina Kiri (who plays an aspiring music producer) and Connor McMahon (who plays a fading country music star) is outstanding, and the story has just enough twists and turns to keep it moving and interesting. The singing of Brit MacRae is the icing on the cake – this film was so good! ~MPT
🌼 I'm not usually a huge fan of UPTv movies but I recently watched Writing a Love Song and thought it was excellent. Definitely a keeper, for me. ~~Jane
🌼 Writing a Love Song - I thought this movie was lighthearted, refreshing, and sweet. There was at least one OMG, but other than that, family-friendly. We really enjoyed all of the guitar playing and singing. The country setting was also beautiful throughout the film; in fact, all of the characters seemed authentic and really down-to-earth. Hope to see more like this on UPtv. ~Net
Please share your thoughts on the movies above, and if you've seen one (or more!), I would love to hear your review, too.
These are the movies confirmed for UPtv in March, thus far. Please be sure to check back for possible changes and additions to the schedule, including Easter weekend.
Blessings,

Looks interesting. JUst hope I eventually have time to watch them. (been swamped these last few weeks with really good tv shows!). -Maria
ReplyDeleteInteresting. I don't really recognize these actors, except the girl in the last poster.
ReplyDeleteWas thinking the same thing. I usually like up’s movies but these look low budget to me.
DeleteThese sound interesting! And wow I cannot believe spring is around the corner, crazy! I’ll be packing up my valentines decor this weekend and putting out my Easter stuff, I feel like washer is early this year, isn’t it normally in April?
ReplyDelete~Paula
I wonder what's happening on 24th March.
ReplyDeleteThree Reel One movies which I believe have been aired elsewhere previously.
I've only seen The Single's Guidebook which I think was on Paramount +.

That's Palm Sunday, I believe. And that's when UPTV starts their Easter celebration with The Passion of the Christ. -Maria
DeleteFlorence, Thank you for sharing this helpful review for "The Single's Guidebook." I completely understand when it's been awhile since we've seen something; it's hard to remember every little detail. However, it's nice to know you don't recall anything scandalous, etc.
DeleteAs for UP's end of March schedule... I agree with Maria, they are likely to air 'The Passion of the Christ' on Palm Sunday or other religious programming. I'll be sure to share when I receive details.
Blessings, Net
It looks like the movie description is the same for The Single's Guidebook and A Royal Makeover.
ReplyDeleteNancy, Thank you for mentioning my error. I corrected the synopsis above for "A Royal Makeover."

An inspirational music special has been added to UPtv's March schedule on Good Friday. See details in the post above. ^
ReplyDeleteBlessings, Net
I've just noticed Writing A Love Song to be aired on 31 March.
ReplyDeleteWas this in the original line-up or was it an addition?
Maybe I just missed it because it was at the end.
The story line sounds quite interesting - Florence
Florence, "Writing A Love Song" was added to the March schedule when UPtv sent out their Bring the Spring/Easter press release. So... yeah, it was a later addition to the UPtv's March movie schedule. ~Net
DeleteUPtv are describing Writing A Love Song on 31 March as "A World Premiere" - Florence
ReplyDeleteShould be news from UPtv soon on whether they will be airing any new movies on Sundays in April.
ReplyDeleteDefinitely seem to be slower in announcing their forthcoming programming - Florence
If they haven't said anything by now, I doubt they will. It's more then likely break time for them anyways. Which would be great for me because I have too many shows next month all airing on Sundays to try and squeeze a movie in anyways without having to reschedule something! -Maria
DeleteFlorence and Maria, I'm currently seeing a Heartland marathon listed for the first Sunday in April on UPtv, with no new movie currently scheduled for that day.
DeleteThis schedule could change, of course, but that's what I'm seeing so far. ~Net

Good news, hopefully! Since UPtv is bringing their movies back fully on Sundays, beginning May 12th, I'm hoping we'll also see some NEW movies... eventually.
ReplyDeleteIf you all catch or see anything, please let me know! :)
Blessings, Net
My guess would be that if they do re-introduce the Sunday night Rom.Com Premiere it will mean "new" to UP but has probably been shown elsewhere before.
DeleteI've put a question to them on Facebook.
UP Faith & Family have 4 "new" movies streaming in May.
03 May - I Can - which looks to be sports based.
10 May - Summer At Charlotte's starring Patch May and Lucy Hill.
To me it's a run-of-the-mill Rom.Com a bit over the top where the heroine about to get married goes home and runs into her ex-boyfriend.
Warning - her fiance displays a few violent tendencies at one stage.
I thought it was okay for a one time watch.
May 17 Fragile Heart.
There is a trailer for this on IMDB and it looks quite interesting -quite fraught but there might be a bit of depth to it.
May 24 Counter Column which might be of interest to some here.
"An Inner City drug dealer joins the army only to clash wiyth a hard-headed Christian determined to share his faith" - Florence
Well that didn't last long.
ReplyDeleteNot that any of the movies were new ones anyway but next Sunday they're back to showing a sweep of Last Man Standing - Florence
