CBS Sunday Morning's reporter, Faith Salie, sat down with author Janette Oke, When Calls the Heart's Erin Krakow, and Hearties, fans of the When Calls the Heart series. These interviews (see in video below) ran during a segment on their program on Sunday morning, February 11th.
Erin Krakow expressed, "There is a real desire for heartwarming entertainment; it's something that I think all of us really want in our lives."
And when she's asked about being the star of When Calls the Heart, Erin is quick to say, "I am just one piece of the heart of the show, because we are a show about community, and I think that we wouldn't be Hope Valley, we wouldn't be When Calls the Heart without all the members of this community.
Janette Oke, whose books inspired the Hallmark Channel series shares about the love and acceptance within the viewers of When Calls the Heart.
Plus, you'll also get to see in this interview below some loyal Hearties who express their devotion and love of the series, and how they have met so many dear friends because of it.
Interviews:
Season 11 of When Calls the Heart premieres Sunday, April 7, 2024 on the Hallmark Channel.
Blessings to you all,

Years ago, Miss Oke spoke at a writers conference I attended. The one thing I remember was her sense of humor. Wonderful writer!

Thank you for sharing the interview. It aired when I was at church, so I wasn't able to see it yesterday.
ReplyDeleteJanette Oke is my absolute favorite! Her writing is excellent and filled with the Holy Spirit. Reading her books encourages me to grow closer to Christ and live a godly life. As much as I love the tv show, (and I DO!!) I love the books so much more!
ReplyDeleteWow! That was a great 5 minutes of a clip!! So touching! How can you not love this show. It is one that supports one another and they proved that.
ReplyDeleteIt is very easy to not to love this show. The whole Elizabeth storyline of choosing Nathan or Lucas was so stupid. A friend who works in television told me rumor that they heard this is the last year. It costs too much money to make and hallmark would rather focus on movies.
DeleteWouldn't shock me at all. It should've just ended with Season 9 and 1 last Christmas movie showing the wedding. -Maria
