I have wonderful news today for all of you who want to see more faith-based content and programming on TV, Great American Living has just been rebranded to Great American Faith & Living!
Deadline is reporting, "The decision follows Great American Media’s recent merger with the Sony-owned Pure Flix and represents the company’s latest move to expand its faith footprint in the linear space."
The article also shares these quotes from Bill Abbott (Great American Media CEO)...
"Given the enormously positive reaction from subscribers to Great American Pure Flix and the ongoing growth of Great American Family, now is the perfect time to sharpen our focus on our second linear channel," Abbott said. "Great American Faith & Living fills a void in the marketplace, and we are confident viewers will enjoy a strong mix of content that brings the highest quality faith programming in the genre. We feel strongly that the faith category is big enough to have a channel fully dedicated to the genre. We are committed to listening to our viewers and are dedicated to creating quality faith and family content that inspires and uplifts."
My Quick Take:
I am delighted to hear and share this fantastic news here with all of you! I wholeheartedly agree with Bill Abbott; a channel like this would definitely fill a void currently missing in the entertainment industry on our televisions. In this world today, we absolutely need more uplifting, positive, inspirational programming. I'm so glad we will have Great American Faith & Living, and I can't wait to learn even more about the faith-based programming the channel will be offering us viewers.
Blessings on your day,
Net
I don't have this channel on my cable provider, but this is nice to hear. -Maria
ReplyDeleteMaria, I'm hoping with this rebranding, maybe the channel will eventually get picked up by more cable providers in the future. That's my hope, anyway. You could always contact your provider and request it, too. That might help.
DeleteWonderful! We actually do get this channel as well as GAF.
ReplyDeleteJennifer R, Thank you for sharing in the excitement! G;ad you also get "Great American Faith & Living."
DeleteNet, is this the same channel as GAF? I sure hope so.
ReplyDeleteComcast removed INSP from normal listing and put it with an additional sports package which meant we lost INSP just before the new series started. My husband is upset because he loved the westerns on there. He can see all the sports he wants to see already, so he refuses to pay more. I hope this does not happen to GAF too.
kitkat, Great American Faith & Living is a separate channel from Great American Family.
DeleteI also don't have Great American Faith & Living on my main cable package, but I have Frndly streaming through my Roku, and they have both Great American Faith & Living and INSP.
Frndly is fairly inexpensive at $6.99 a month compared to other cable options, but I don't blame your husband at all for not wanting to pay more for TV. Prices on everything are ridiculous these days.
Net, can I watch Friendly on my TV if I sign up?
DeleteThanks so much Net! I will certainly check it out. I am extremely busy with work this week but I will have more time this weekend. Sounds great!
DeleteBlessings back to you! I appreciate all you do for us.
kitkat, You're welcome, honey. If you have any questions, just let me know. :)
DeleteNet-Thank you for the welcome “good news”. We need more faith today, more than ever.
ReplyDeleteTake care all.

OT: In slightly happier news for me today, I got Christmas in the Smokies on DVD today, and I saw this site's review of the movie on the back. :))) -Maria
ReplyDeleteMaria, Glad you liked my review of Christmas in the Smokies. It's interesting to see Jill Wagner portray a supporting cast member in this movie. She and Sarah Lancaster are fun together in this. Enjoy!!! :) ~Net
