See all the details below...

Something's Brewing
Original Air Date: March 5, 2023
Starring: Kristi Murdock and Jason Cook
Storyline: Jane Peterson, a marketing executive in the big city, loses her job and boyfriend both on the same day. Fed up, she vows to leave the city for good. Before she can though, she runs into a handsome and charming barista at a local coffee shop. As she rediscovers the city with him, it feels like something might be brewing!
Movie Review:
⛾ Something’s Brewing – Okay… something’s brewing, alright. In the first 5 minutes, Jane gets fired from her job, and she learns her live-in boyfriend, Aiden, is cheating on her. She arrives home early to their apartment, opens the bedroom door, and sees them together (if you know what I mean), but we see nothing, except for the two of them (the cheaters) walking out of the bedroom fully clothed. Not exactly the uplifting movie I was hoping to see. This movie is not family-friendly, based on those first few minutes. I watched the rest of the movie, which was fine, but it was rather slow and boring at times. Jane ends up meeting David, a single father, who works at a coffee shop. Overall, Something’s Brewing is not a keeper for me. ~Net

*NOTE: Instead of a new movie premiere on March 12th, it appears there will be a marathon of the sitcom, Last Man Standing, starring Tim Allen, for most of the day. Please stay tuned, in case there are any changes.

THE CONFESSION
UPlifting Musical
Original Air Date: March 26, 2023
Starring: Chondra Pierce and John Schneider
Storyline: In this musical adaptation of Beverly Lewis’ beloved novels, two worlds collide when a young Amish girl discovers she was adopted by a wealthy family. As she seeks her birth mother, she must overcome the obstacles of a lost fiance and a crafty gold-digger who seeks the fortune of her birth mother.
Movie Review:
๐ตThe Confession Musical – If you like musicals, then I suspect you will enjoy this one. I found it to be quite amusing and captivating, even though I already knew the story. In fact, I never thought it would be sooo funny, but it was, especially when the young woman pretended to be Amish. That was quite hilarious, and of course, comedienne Chondra Pierce brought a lot of humor and heart to her character. Well-known actor John Schneider played the bad guy in this, and while I’m used to him playing the nice guy, typically, he was fantastic in his role as the money-grubbing husband. Besides all the singing and dancing, The Confession Musical also had a heartwarming message about love, faith, and family. It is wholesome and family-friendly, if you don’t mind some of the Amish humor. ~Net

These are the movies confirmed for March, thus far. Please be sure to check back in case there are changes to the schedule.
I am personally looking forward to seeing this Amish musical version of The Confession. I've seen Chondra Pierce perform her comedy routine and share her testimony of faith in person; she is fantastic! And John Schneider is one of my all-time favorites. My big brother loved Dukes of Hazzard as we were growing up, so we'd often watch that General Lee in those memorable car chases. It has also been encouraging to see John Schneider in some inspirational films that have important meaning for this time, such as: Roe v. Wade and To Die For. I also think he's great in the Lifetime Christmas movies: Poinsettias for Christmas and Christmas in Tune. I was sad to learn of the recent passing of his wife, Alicia Allain, due to her fight with cancer. My heart and prayers go out to him and their family.
Please note: I haven't pre-screened the UPtv movies listed above. If you'd like to post a review on whether a film is family-friendly, please share in comments.
Happy movie-watching, everyone! Net

These all look great! I recorded God Bless the Broken Road last year but never got around to watching it. -Maria
ReplyDeleteSomeone in a GAF group on Facebook said earlier today that the network will make 21 Christmas movies this year. Is this confirmed anywhere? -Maria
ReplyDeleteMaria, That is interesting. I wonder where they heard that. I'm not aware of Great American Family mentioning this news. I would think they are still trying to figure that out at this point.
DeleteWhen I was watching English estate last Saturday I heard gaf announce that they'll be having 21 Christmas movie premieres
DeleteJennifer, I must have skipped that ad when I recorded the movie last week. Thanks! Sure wish they'd put that video up on their YouTube page or make a big annoucement about it online. -Maria
DeleteJennifer, I'm so glad you mentioned this! I finally caught the commercial while watching "Happily Ever Emma."
DeleteI had seen the commercial where it's mentioned before, but I previously missed the audio at the end.
For anyone else who hasn't seen it, yet, it's the Christmas commercial with Danica McKellar and they show clips of "Christmas at the Drive-In" and at the end the narrator mentions (I'm paraphrasing) that Danica's new Christmas movie coming this year will be one of 21 New Christmas Movies coming to Great American Family!
That's awesome that they announced this news so soon. I hope they create more of their own this year instead of obtaining the films from other sources.
Thank you so much for sharing this, Jennifer! :)
A musical version of The Confession? I agree, that does sound interesting.
ReplyDeleteBy the way, always liked John Schneider too. Sorry to hear about his wife.
This the worst month line up theyve had in a long time
ReplyDeleteNot a fan of inspirational movies? UP TV always airs a bunch of them around Easter, and everyone loves them. -Maria
DeleteCouldn't agree more, Anonymous.
DeleteI'm so disappoimted in UP recently which was probably my favourite channel over the last couple of .
I don't mind a bit of Country but I'm not really into musicals and one of the leads in God Bless The Broken Road has been married before.
However ther seems to be a gap for 12 March so just maybe......... - Florence
I like the variety!
DeleteI can't believe people are slamming uptv. I've always enjoyed everything on Uptv. If people choose to slamming the movies, etc. Guess what people, there are many more stations you can watch. Be kind to people!!!!
DeleteI can't believe how many people are slamming good wholesome movies. If someone doesn't like Uptv, you have a choice to watch other channels. I love good wholesome movies and especially musicals. I surely would rather watch good stories and musicals instead of what they are coming out with these days, with violence, horror. Etc. Maybe some people like them, but I like good storyline that uptv shows. God Bless you all!
DeleteI like faith based/inspirational stuff too. Not too many networks out there now that'll even air them at the right times. Not every movie UP airs has to be the same old looking rom com week after week, especially when 1 of the holiest holidays of the year comes around.
DeleteRom coms will return after Easter like they always do. Just sit back and enjoy the nice change of scenary till then, I say Anon! -Maria
I’m kind of surprised about God bless the Broken Road, since it’s fairly old in the entertainment world. I mean 5 YEARS is forever for a movie release. Would have expected a more recent faith-based movie to fill that time slot with March 19 being so close to Easter.
ReplyDeleteNot good news - UP has now added God Bless The Broken Road to their movie previews after Something's Brewing so there's no new movie on 12th.
ReplyDeleteReally disappointing.
Net, do you have an email address for UPtv?
There is a contact form but I think you get a better response if you can email them.
I would like to write to them to let them know how very let down I feel on what would appear to be their new direction - Florence
Florence, I figured since God Bless The Broken Road would be airing at 7pm/6c., their typical premiere movie slot, then this would be the only "new" movie that night. I do have an email contact at UP, but I'm not sure I can share it publicly. If you want to email something to me, I would be glad to send it to them.
Deletemy email:

Not a problem, Net.
ReplyDeleteYou've plenty on yourplate and I won't involve you.
I have an address for UPtv and have decided to write a REAL letter to them! - Florence
Florence, Wow! I think that a REAL letter sounds great. An email can easily be overlooked, but hopefully, a letter will have a deeper impact.
DeleteFinally watched God bless the Broken Road. It's very emotional and heavy, a lot. But it also has a spectacular ending. Highly recommend! -Maria
