🎄 A Christmas... Present is a beautiful story that focuses on the true meaning of Christmas! It is heartwarming, inspiring, emotional, funny, and inspirational all wrapped up in one! This movie is by far deeper than your typical Christmas movie romantic comedy, and I loved all the heartfelt brother and sister talks about faith and scripture. Plus, Candace Cameron Bure and Marc Blucas (who portrayed her husband) had wonderful chemistry on screen together. It was nice to see a family go to church with one another, and I loved hearing Hillary Scott (of the country music group Lady Antebellum / Lady A) singing Silent Night! Candace has starred in many wonderful Christmas movies throughout the years, but this moving role that focuses on faith and family is truly her best! You’ll definitely want to watch A Christmas... Present this holiday season on Great American Family and unwrap the true gift of Christmas... Jesus! ~Net
🎄 I have been looking forward to watching "Candace Cameron Bure Presents: A Christmas… Present" since I first saw the trailer and heard Matthew West's song. Now the wait is over and I'm just so happy to have watched this truly special movie! It really is about Christmas, about our greatest gift - Jesus, about family, about what really matters in life. I'm so grateful to Candace Cameron Bure and all the creators of this movie for all the Bible verses, for all the deep conversations about God and faith. You don't happen to see it often in Christmas movies though they're called Christmas. Thank you GAF for not being afraid to be different in this world. That's what faith all about! ~Oksanka~
🎄 A Christmas…Present is family friendly about Eric & Maggie Larson are professionals, with busy work schedules that include some high-maintenance clients. The entire Larson family has every moment scheduled, with activities and events. However, they stop all their extra holiday plans because they are reminded that this is the first Christmas for Maggie’s brother since her sister-in-law passed away. Therefore, they have decided to spend Christmas with Maggie’s brother, Paul, and his daughter, Ashley. This is a difficult time and family is more important than ever. Things don’t start too smoothly. Maggie likes to stay busy, and check items off a list. Meanwhile, her brother prefers to take things slower and embrace the moment. Therefore, their ideas about Christmas are dramatically different. Yet, after a few unexpected events, things start to transform for the Larsons. Maybe Christmas is meant to be more peaceful than busy? ~Anonymous

I can’t wait to see Candace’s new Christmas movie after reading all of these great reviews.
ReplyDeleteA passage from the Bible
ReplyDelete"So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you & help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand." Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer & petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.
Thank you. Beautiful. I needed this Scripture right now.
DeleteA Christmas…Present was a wonderful Christmas gift to everyone. GAC and CCB wrapped up a special gift that when opened we have faith, family and the reason for the season. - Gabe’s Mom
ReplyDeleteDid that movie take place in a church?
ReplyDeleteChris, Yes! There are two different scenes that take place inside a church in "A Christmas... Present." Both are heartwarming and inspirational.
DeleteThe Christmas...Present...Wow! I was really looking forward to this one partly because Marc Blucas would be in it, but it was way more than I expected. I haven't watched a movie of this caliber in a long time. Kudos to GAF and Candace for presenting this wonderful spiritual movie that presented Christ, Scripture and a great message about death of a loved one and living a Christian life.
ReplyDeleteAgree fully. Nice to finally watch a Christmas movie that actually talks shoot Christ. Best one I’ve seen in a very long time.
DeleteSo happy to hear all the good reviews that this was such a good movie!! It's on my dvr but I tend to save the good ones until last and first watch the movies that I think might be questionable or just so-so in order to make room on the dvr. But I've had a stressful day today and I'm thinking I might have to watch Candace's movie to make me feel better! We'll see. Either way, whenever I watch it, I'm looking forward to enjoying this one!

Candace Cameron Bure Presents: A Christmas Present
ReplyDeleteFEATURED REVIEW from IMDb
10/10
Beautiful!
I loved this movie! It's what Christmas is about, spending time with family. It's a beautiful Christian Christmas movie, and it's not traditional. There are a lot of Bible quotes and that's why our family really enjoyed it. I think we tend to forget what Christmas is all about, and this movie really shows the true meaning behind Christmas. It has a lot to do with church too. Her kids in the movie are respectful and kind to their parents, when we rarely see that in movies nowadays.
Candace is a beautiful actress, her movies are all wonderful. I love her! This movie is different from all her other movies, but it's more meaningful. I recommend this movie!
I watched this last night. Really well done and something I could (and would) watch again. I happen to believe that Candace is actually a very good actress. I never feel like I'm just watching her act like she did as a previous character, i.e. I really buy into her characters because she does. But, I also really loved Paul Fitzgerald as her brother and I thought she and Marc Blucas were a great match as well. I read a review by a critic who claimed she watched unbiasedly (as if that is really possible) and just dumped on the movie for saying that everything will be fixed by going to church. Point missed. If religion and God, but especially Christ during the Christmas season, is not something you care for, then there really is no point in even watching this movie. But, hey, for those of us who see Christmas as actually being about its namesake, we will always love a movie that showcases this. Bravo for A Christmas . . . Present for doing this.
ReplyDeleteA Christmas Present;
ReplyDeleteWow! What a treat! We finally have a network that says Jesus's name! Hallmark always did everything they could to avoid it.
This film was family-friendly. Candace and Mark were great. It was nice to see a movie with Christ in the center of it! It was neat to see how God worked in the brother's grief. He would always miss his wife, but rejoice that she was in Heaven and would see her again one day. I would have liked to see it have the true gospel in there, but it was still good to see a Christian film with Bible verses. If you haven't seen it, watch it, it was great!

Who portrayed Amy, Paul McCormick’s decreased Wife, Maggie’s Sister-in-law on CCB Presents: A Christmas… Present? A picture about hers!!!
ReplyDeleteCandace shared on social media that the picture that was shown that represented Paul's wife was actually of her own mother holding her as baby, and that was her actual brother, Kirk, in the photograph, as well.
DeleteReview: Candace Cameron Bure and Marc Blucas deliver in their new film
ReplyDeleteActors Candace Cameron Bure (“Full House”) & Marc Blucas (“Buffy the Vampire Slayer”) deliver in their new film “A Christmas… Present,” which premiered on Great American Family over Thanksgiving Weekend.
In “A Christmas… Present,” real estate agent Maggie Larson (Candace Cameron Bure) & her family will be spending Christmas with her recently widowed brother, Paul (Paul Fitzgerald), and his young daughter named Ashley at their house.
Maggie is determined to give her brother and niece the best Christmas possible and to lift their spirits when they most need it. Though Maggie’s plan is to aid her brother, his faith and parenting style ultimately help her to understand issues within her own life and a need for closeness in her own family.
Marc Blucas is charming in the role of Eric Lansing. Director Lesley Demetriades did a solid job with its direction, and the movie deserves to be enjoyed for its rawness, honesty, and authenticity. There is something in it for the entire family.
Compliments to screenwriter Rick Garman for writing such a relatable, realistic, and resonant screenplay. It garners two thumbs up.
Best GAF movie of all time!
