STUDIO CITY, CA - May 10, 2022 - Will Kemp ("The Christmas Waltz," "Spinning Out") and Reshma Shetty ("Blind Spot") star in "Jolly Good Christmas," a new, original movie premiering this year during Hallmark Channel's beloved, annual "Countdown to Christmas" programing event. The movie shot entirely on location in London and features iconic landmarks throughout the city.

"We can't wait to transport our viewers 'across the pond' for this special, holiday adventure," said Samantha DiPippo, Senior Vice President, Development, Programming, Crown Media Family Networks. "We're thrilled to have been able to feature famous sites and set our story against the unique backdrop of London at Christmastime."

David (Kemp) is an American architect who recently moved to London for a prime opportunity in a prestigious firm. With just three days before Christmas, he has yet to purchase a gift for his girlfriend, who also happens to be the boss' daughter. While out shopping, David crosses paths with Anji (Shetty), a professional shopper, who raises an eyebrow over his choice of a gift card. When David and Anji end up crossing paths again, he decides to hire her in the hopes of finding just the right gift. Thanks to a series of unexpected events, David finds himself on a wild adventure across Jolly Old London as Anji helps him search for the perfect present.

"Jolly Good Christmas" is co-produced by Leif Films Media and Movie House Entertainment. The movie is executive produced by Leif Bristow together with Jane Goldenring, Carol Baum and Danny Webber. Agnes Bristow and Borga Dorter producers. Mark Vennis is the UK co-producer. Jonathan Wright directed from a script by Ron Oliver.

My Quick Take...

I've yet to see Will Kemp in a Hallmark movie that I didn't love. Case in point... Royal Matchmaker, Love, Romance & Chocolate, and The Christmas Waltz! So, I'm cautiously optimistic here for this new one. It does sound potentially like an interesting story, with a personal shopper helping Will Kemp's character select a gift for his girlfriend in the city of London.

I would love to know your thoughts, as well. Please share in comments below...

  1. I always love the movies with Will Kemp in them...he is a wonderful actor! These days I am cautiously optimistic with any of the movies that Hallmark brings us. I don't know if they have gotten the word that all we want are family friendly movies and that saddens me. I do have to say that I am very hopeful with the GAC Family as an alternative!

    1. We have all three of his Hallmark movies. I agree with Janet about being cautiously optimistic with Hallmark movies. I appreciate Net and her It's A Wonderful Movie website for warnings. Thank you!

    2. Exactly! Like Net said above, all 3 of his previous Hallmark movies are great and we’ll be cautiously optimistic about this one as well. I’m also curious to see how London will be shown in this due to them filming during the pandemic. I went there over 10 years ago with my husband and daughter. MaryBeth

  2. I've been on a bit of a British kick lately, so I might check this out.

And speaking of Ryan, he's now officially owned by Hallmark because he just signed that all mighty deal. :((( -Maria

  5. Ryan Peavey was originally cast in the movie; Christmas in London instead recast him with Will Kemp. Ron Oliver is certainly screenplay writer for the movie “Christmas in London” & not Director

Jolly Good Christmas is new titled for Christmas in London. It’s based on the book called; “Christmas in London”, by Anita Hughes
