First, if you are not familiar with The Chosen, it is a drama series based on the life of Jesus of Nazareth, created, directed and co-written by American filmmaker Dallas Jenkins. The Chosen is "an exploration of the life of Jesus Christ through the perspective of those that interacted with him." It all began with one episode titled The Shepherd in 2017, which tells the amazing story of the birth of Jesus from a shepherd's point of view. The Chosen series developed from there and many more episodes later, it has become overwhelming popular through streaming sources, etc...
You can see The Shepherd this Christmas on TV on the TCT Channel on Thursday, December 23, 2021 at 7:05pm/6:05c and Saturday, December 25, 2021 at 1:38pm/12:38c.
Also, this Christmas, a new episode titled: Christmas with The Chosen: The Messengers was first released in theaters breaking box office records. You can see current theater and ticket details through Fanthom Events.
Christmas with The Chosen: The Messengers is 2 hours long featuring musical performances from various artists and groups including Phil Wickham, for KING & COUNTRY, Cain, We The Kingdom, Matt Maher, Dawson Hollow and many more. Along with the musical performances there is a new episode of The Chosen which is 40-minutes long and follows the events surrounding the birth of Jesus from the perspective of Mary and Joseph.

I think it is very interesting with all the numerous new Christmas movies airing on TV across various networks, that a program like The Chosen is topping box office records. People are going out to theaters and paying to see it! What does that tell me? People are craving for the true meaning of Christmas! Sure, many of the Christmas romantic comedies on TV are delightful and fun to watch, but when it comes down to it, most people desire to see what Christmas is really about - the birth of Jesus! How refreshing! This gives me hope for the future as we soon end this year and begin a new one.
Joyous Blessings to You All
as we rejoice together over the Savior's birth!

DeleteOh, Net! This makes me so happy! We went to see "The Messengers" last Friday night, and we also re-watched some of it during the YouTube livestream Sunday night. We have loved the Chosen for a long time, and the show has literally changed my life. I can't say enough good about it, and I am just so thrilled to hear it is going on TV! Praise GOD! Yes! People are so craving Jesus. I believe God is using this show to minister to many who have been deeply wounded by church hurt and who are so sick of this evil world and long to know Jesus. So, so happy to hear this! God bless you and your family, Net, and thank you so much for all you do.
ReplyDeleteCheryl, I'm so glad this post brings joy to you! What a testimony on how much The Chosen means to you. I believe it really is making the Bible come to life in a whole new way. I agree with you - it is an incredible ministry for the brokenhearted. Some of my family went to see it at the theater and their souls were truly uplifted. I'm looking forward to seeing it for the first time Sunday afternoon.
DeleteThank you for your sweet message! God's Blessings to you... my dear sister in The Lord!
Merry Christmas!!! Net
This news fills me with joy! Thanks Net for this info. The Chosen has been such a blessing to me.
ReplyDeleteNet, your message above is encouraging. This world is dark but He is the Light that drives out that darkness. No one can put that Light out! Praise God!
kitkat, So good to hear your excitement! I love that they included praise worship with this - because we know He inhabits the praises of His people! Just thinking of that - gives me chills - in a good way!
DeleteI love what you said about Jesus being the Light! Amen to that! Keep on shining!!! :)

DeleteHey net. I have dish and our byutv channel doesnt show the choisens new christmas movie at all. Did they change the date?
ReplyDeleteThat's interesting it's not showing in your guide. I have DirecTV, and I do see it listed on BYUtv on Sunday December 19th at 3pm. That's Eastern Standard Time for me. It's a 2 hour program. Maybe you could record it then, just in case. It would be 2pm central and 12pm pacific. Hope that helps!
DeleteThe Season 3 finale will air tonight. (the new Christmas special 'Holy Night' aired last night on The CW, and it was awesome!). I'm so happy The CW aired the whole show, hopefully they will air Season 4 next year after it's theater run. (all 8 new episodes will be shown in theaters 1st). -Maria
