Joining forces with her friends and some of the town locals, Jodie fights to save the marina, all while vowing to launch a boat she and her father were refurbishing together before his untimely death. Meeting Will Calvin - the architect who developed the plans for the new marina – Jodie spends her time teaching him about the community and hopes he can harmonize his plans with local culture and traditions to ensure the sustainability of already established businesses. ⛵️ "Love Knots - MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS Apart from Cupid's On Beacon Street I've thooughly enjoyed the Incendo movies which BYU has aired. Sadly this is the second one which didn't hit the spot. First, it is certainly family-friendly. We've seen similar plot lines before - corporate company buying over property, local businesses and way of life under threat - in this case a new marina is being planned and a family sail-making company is threatened. There's plenty of scope there and no reason why this couldn't have been good. I've only seen one other review (apart from here) and interestingly that reviewer has found exactly the same problem as myself and that is the female lead (Jodie) played by Brooke Williams. At the start she gets right in the face of a photographer (who later turns out to be the architect of the planned new marina) with the result that the guy stpes back and falls into the water. Jodie shows no remorse at all, thinks it's funny and taunts him to get over to the steps to get out, not even offering to help or knowing if he could swim - this was totally unacceptable and I really couldn't get into her character after that. I found her somewhat smug, pretty selfish wanting everything her own way and priding herself on being a big fish in a small pond. Matthew Walker who played the male lead Will was a perfectly nice guy but he lacked drive and couldn't be said to have much charisma - there wasn't much spark between them. There was some nice scenery but the story was slow, dull and predictable as it limped towards the end. In my opinion one to miss." Forence's rating - 4.

  1. Just wish networks would pay a little more attention to their schedules. If they want us to watch, it would help to know accurately what’s on.

    1. JoCo, I agree! BYU has been quite unpredictable lately. I tuned in to watch Love Knots on January 1st and was disappointed to see Food Factory.

So sorry if you also recorded this. I just checked BYU's schedule and they are currently showing this to air on January 27th at 1pm/12c. Hope this airing sticks, but we'll see. If it doesn't, I'll probably watch it through their app.

    2. BYU is somewhat starnge.

It' not the first time they've listed a movie to air and then not shown or even air a movie with no prior warning.

I find their site very hard to navigate and have ceased trying to - Florence

  4. I’m done watching “Love Knots” the one you posted above. It’s family friendly. Jodie Carpenters lost her Dad; John Carpenters. Her family owns the loft where the sailboat ⛵️ is at Richmond Bay Marina is a place for her family makes sailboat just before her Dad’s passed away. Jodie meets Will Calvin is an architect who plans to rebuild a new Marina. Jodie & Will deal with Charles with an argument about expansion. Will gives a bottle of champagne with a net & blue & white love knots. Although Jodie isn’t so happy at all that Charles mentions about expansion plan when she turns to Will & she’s just left out. Jodie plans to save Marina. So, Nick, Beth, Jodie’s Mom; Loretta, & Jodie work on a family sailboat ⛵️ just before launching with sailboat with motorboat. Family sailboat named Loretta named after Jodie’s Mom. Beth & Jodie wear overalls or overshorts. Ted ties a love knots with two different colors. Nick & Will wear mechanical jumpsuits. They work together at the loft just before launching. Will & Jodie have love knots & a bottle of champagne 🍾 on the sailboat ⛵️, Jodie broke champagne out of Loretta’s name on a family sailboat with motorboat 🚀. Ted, Nick, Beth, Jodie’s Mom; Loretta applause πŸ‘ them.

Ted ties a variety of love knots with two different colors of love knots. The Celtic Love Knot symbol is shaped like two interlocking hearts and usually arranged inside an oval. It is said to symbolize the love between two people. Celts are said to have exchanged these knots in the same way that many couples do nowadays. The lover's knot or love knot has a long history of being a symbol of love. It represents the unbreakable bond and eternal connection between two lovers. The association of knots with love has appeared in many different cultures since ancient times. ... If the knot holds for a year, it means that their love will last.

    SWEET AS MAPLE SYRUP

"Food" related themes seem to be very popular at the moment and there have even been a couple of other movies with Maple Syrup centre stage.

This is another winning showcase from Incendo (it is, of course, family-friendly).

A very large part if this is due to the lead actors Brooke Nevin (I wonder why Hallmark have never taken her up?) and Carlo Marks - Rachelle and Derek.

Both were excellent in their parts and there was wonderful chemistry between them.

Although Derek was a professor and bookish there was nothing boring about him.

You had a good idea how the plot would work out but their on-screen presence kept things refreshingly interesting.

It was nice to see how romance developed between them from the initial antagonism to the gradual warming and eventually deeper feelings.

There was a nice comedy line as Rachelle tried to avoid the match-making tactics of a local doyenne.

I also liked Rachelle's brother who was a partner in the business.

Knowing how these Rom.Coms usually go I was actually surprised that they didn't introduce a love interest fot him - I was actually fully expecting something to develop between him and Rachelle's best friend - although there was a little twist on this at the end.

Overall this a delighful, heartwarming movie which I think would appeal to most members here.

    Forence's rating - 8.

    1. Florence, I so appreciate you sharing your thoughts on these two movies! They are both still on my to-watch-list, so I thoroughly enjoyed reading your thoughts on them.

"Sweet as Maple Syrup" is actually the one I really want to watch the most, and even more so after seeing your rating for it. If BYU doesn't re-air it soon, I may go ahead and watch it through their app.

I, too, would love to see more of Brooke Nevin! I just watched her recently in Lifetime's "It Takes a Christmas Village" and she was fantastic! What a sweet movie! Hallmark has had her in the lead ("On the Twelfth Day of Christmas," "Jingle Around the Clock," "The Christmas Cure") and in side parts ("Journey Back to Christmas," "Crashing Through the Snow"), but I think she should be given the lead roles on there more often. It has been a long while for Hallmark.

Anyway, so glad you enjoyed it, Florence! Can't wait to watch! :)
